Ryan Babel? Is this a joke? It was already a joke that Van Basten selected this player. Almost the same with Maduro. Better youngsters were active a month before the WC in Portugal during the EC under 21.
BTW, Karel Brucker said at the start of the tournament: "Write down, Italy is the favorite dfor the title'.

You can't have the ashes as as we don't have a test cricket team. Although over the years a few of our Scot's did play for you's.
But hey your Welsh England internationals (G. Jones and S.Jones(could be wrong about him)) and South Africans (K. Pieterson and A. Strauss) did a good job for you.

Scotland don't have 10 black players to use. Infact our only black player is an Englishman who is not good enough to play for them.
England had James, A. Cole, Walcott, Jenas, Campbell, Ferdinand and Lennon in their World Cup squad.
Reo-Coker + Defoe were on standby. Also D. Bent just missed out on the squad.
So that's 7 in the squad, 2 on replacement list and 1 who only just missed out.

There aren’t really that many "major" sports in the world. Classifying major as how much money is pumped into them and how big they are I would say off the top of my head in no particular order they are:
football
American football
basketball
hockey
baseball
golf
auto racing
and maybe things like boxing and tennis and a few others I might be missing
I wouldn't classify rugby, track & field, lacrosse and cricket as "major" sports, and bowling and darts aren't even considered sports by a lot of people.
The only one we have really never done well in is the one we don't care about.

Factually, were I typical, I wouldn't give a fuck about soccer nor post about it in this thread. However, I appreciate the sport and those countries that play it well. I was all over the USA for tanking horribly. I didn't post afterward each game possible excuses for bad play or that as a sporting nation we play other sports and have champions in those sports; that would be redundant. I will be less subtle about making light of posting about winning in other sports in this thread. I thought I made that clear with the gangbang and ******* shout-out...lol.
Just like basketball, baseball and football is big in the states, soccer is big everywhere else. As a sporting nation, it is not high on the list of sports played or watched. It is big in high school and college, especially as women sports. The state of soccer in the states is such that it ranked behind hockey; in essence, thats all you need to know how highly soccer is regarded in the states.
And we joke about bowling and darts as sports; we laugh and say any sport where your play improves with ******** of **** isn't a sport but a past-time.
But I like the sport of soccer. It catches My attention every 4 years. After the championship game Sunday...I'll catch up with the game and everyone in the thread in South Africa.
