Why Obama?

you have two (real) candidates on 300 million people. european elections have dozens on a tenth of that population. so therefore, we are better! just wanted to let you know, please don't come here though because you americans are fat and stupid :D

nah just kidding, you're pretty cool, you make some nice porn... i don't know why i made this post :o

LOL!
I'm sure we're all shocked you're anti-Obama considering you're on record as believing blacks are a lower class of human being who have no right to run the country...

And yet you're probably one of the people who then turn around and insist that our land belongs to Natives since they were here first (even though they weren't, but that's going off-topic). So if Whites have no right to run North America, because Natives were here before them, then blacks have even LESS such a right, no?

Because most of you that voted for Bush feel bad and now want to make ammends or "make things right" by voting for B.O., so you all still not getting it right. Let's see in 2012 when you all vote without using your emotions of either fear or anger. With him you all are getting it wrong again.

I can't believe I'm saying this..

Because he's the best choice..................Reality strikes a Republican:ban:

Huh?

Sorry, but I don't know if there are too many people out there living by that script. :dunno:

Kudos to my friend Holdol for being willing to have an open mind.

And he's from Chicago area folks ,so might know a little more than most of us about the man.Obviously at least doesn't think he is Karl Marx reincarnated.:)

Whats this about an open mind? shit that sounds like some recruitment slogan. Chicago have you really been to where he is from in Chicago? I have and is nothing like most of us can afford.

I don't know whether to agree with you or not. If my ass was dragged across an ocean against my will and I was sold into slavery, I would probably feel it was as much as my right to live in peace when getting out of that nightmare as any of the people that dragged me there. Having been there a good long time through generations, I might just have to disagree with anyone who said I should go back where I came from. I don't necessarly think actions like those show a good deal of superiority on the part of people commiting those acts that all races see as unconscionable, but it could just be me, I don't always get it right. :dunno:

And you know, on who was where first, the US Army did a job on those same indians who were there first. White man did all those things moms and dads tell their kids not to do to South American's during the time of the conquistadores. The US has done all that bad crap in Latin America in the past hundred years. I guess it depends on where in the food chain you want to see yourself when you toss away other peoples human rights. :2 cents:

Funny that you say that, makes me wonder why there are many republicans and so called conservatives jumping ship tpo Obama's camp and most of people that you would ask at work will tell you pretty much the same.."fuck those republicans ain't getting my vote again"

I wish for the best for this country and expect the worst.

Hi everybody.
Another political thread here but hopefully it will be slightly different than most.
My intention is not to create a debate, just to understand a bit better the answer to "Why Obama?".

So please, Obama fans, can you tell me in simple, plain english exactly why so many of you like this guy so much.
For those of you who don't like him , the same.
As a side topic, Why did the democratic party drop hillary like a maggot infested hot potato? What makes, or made him better than her?

I just would like to hear real, direct reasons as to why, because I for one am baffled.
Thank you.

Honestly don't like either candidates for President, but I will vote for Obama bcs I believe we need the Democratic Party in charge for one term to see if things change bcs Republicans had and 8 year run and screw everything up.

It's like a runaway train, and if you look at the history of spending excess, it's always sky high with a republican president.

I still hear this victory in Iraq crap out of McCain, and as Vietnam vet he should remember how that ended 30 years ago. I would want to get out of that as fast as I could to stop hemoraging blood and money, as we clearly know Iraq had nothing to do with fighting terror or 9/11. Insurgents, (those who don't want the occupation), surged after the US fell down on any promises it might have made, so any military action is just to stop the bleeding from past mistaks.

But the real republican agenda is more money channeled into the same large corporations and the changes in McCain's public promises have changed to copy Obama as his popularity overshadowed his own. The same people are in place influencing the same individuals despite what face McCain and Palin want to put on it. He is looking for a compromise which by nature doesn't exist. That's why he's been vague on issues, he's trying not to make promises he won't keep.

PBS just recently ran the American experience 2 part program on LBJ.Part 2 which of course dealt with nam a lot was on last night.LBJ was constantly being told were "winning" and making progress with only one top adviser having said from the very start it was unwinnable. After the Tet offensive they all changed thier minds but of course it dragged on for years afterward.Poor LBJ deluded himself in believing it could be won up till then and said I don't want to be the 1st president to lose a war.We dropped more bombs on North Vietnam than all of the bombs dropped during ww2 but they were never going to give up.They knew eventually we would leave and then they could rebuild no matter how long it took. Nixon took over the war with the slogan "peace with honor" which sounds very much like what McCain is saying about Iraq. The only way we will ever win such a thing is as McCain once said be prepared to stay a hundred years. Were not and like Vietnam they know sooner or later we will be leaving and like Vietnam it will not be seen as a victory and will not be have the word honor attached to it.The lesson of nam was we should have just left in 1968 and not let it drag on for almost 7 more years with more than 1/2 of all casualties taken after 68.

sigh...I survived 8 years of Bush, I can survive either Obama (medias winner) or McCain, I never put my hopes on one man, that's why I don't get dissapointed when they fuck up. It does make me hate goverment even more as I see that either way it does not respond to us anymore, but to whoever fill their pockets with big money and the great chosen one B.O. is not one to say that he does not get big donors for his campaign.

Yes, I watched part 2 last night, and recall all those reasons McCain is talking like an idiot about the war. There comes a time to cut your losses, especially when the war was willfully and knowingly entered into on all false pretenses. They should have left the Iraqi military employed to fix the infrastructure and the US should have taken responsibility for the mistake, but that would be admitting the wrong.

Stay the course? My God! You don't start in Missouri and keep driving West to get to New York, it's idiotic and this is what all that cheering and shouting at McCain rallies supports.

BTW, LBJ part 1 and 2 are available free on line now on the www.pbs.org site. Most people however don't care about any of that.

Whoops! Gotta run! Dancing with the Stars is on! It's so much more important

LOL! So then you would have also voted for Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini as well then, if you vote for someone based on their skill in rhetoric like a complete drone who can't read between the lines.

That's not true.

You don't understand me at all.

What I mean is this:

I like Obama's views on the issues.

I DON'T like McCains views on the issues.

And that is why I support Obama.

(would you be saying the same thing about me if I was a McCain supporter instead)?

Yeah, let's all prove we're open-midned by voting for the black man. Because if we don't vote for a black man we are NOT open-minded! We're nothing but racists! Racist... bigot.. Nazis..!
