Total Nonstop Action wrestling thread

Anyone want to count down to the eventual buyout by Vince.

Why would Vince want to buy TNA?

There about 7 wrestlers who would improve WWE. Only Styles, Angle, Wolfe, Joe, Daniels and Beer Money(As Singles) would suceed.

Vince doesn't like cruiserweights/X-Div so most would be useless in WWE. MCMG could do okay in Tag division but that is almost non-existant.
A few of the knockouts would be kept around as eye candy but less so the ones who can actually wrestle.
RVD and Hardy don't want the WWE schedule.

I really like The Pope but Vince didn't use him before. Anderson is in a similer position.

In answer to my own question Vince may want to acquire TNA's video library but would be surprised if he bought out the whole company and used lot's of it's workers.

I hope TNA has something huge planned for Impact this week. The fallout from WrestleMania might be too big of a pull for the casual fans.

I wasn't even thinking about the TNA roster. I only care about the video library.

Thank God! The Nasty Boys are gone!!!!!!! They added NOTHING to TNA and instead hurt it! :nanner:

TNA Impact rating: A record low rating while going head-to-head with WWE Raw the night after WrestleMania 26
http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish/TNA/article10011133.shtml

Monday's TNA Impact drew a 0.6 rating on Monday, according to WrestlingObserver.com. The rating is down from the 0.8 rating it drew the two previous weeks.

i just watched it from my DVR, the show was terrible.the best part of the whole show was anything involving Black Machismo Jay Lethal!
is TNA still living in the 80's?
"this match is a 1 fall with a 20 minute time limit"?????? who the fuck ever paid attention to the falls or the time limit?........... EVER????
i may stop DVRing this waste of 2 hours!

Yeah, they're really stuck in 1997. Not just with their outdated main eventers (which cause them to waste young talent), but also with their outlook. "Shock value" doesn't exist the way it did in the 90's, because we've got UFC on SPIKE TV all day long and pretty much every drama series has lesbian kiss scenes in it now so it's really saturated.

Creed Confirms TNA Release, Nasty Boys' Firing Update

-- Consequences Creed posted on his Twitter account last night that he is indeed gone from TNA Wrestling. Creed tweeted: "Thanks for the support! Yea it's true no more TNA for me. So now it's time to do work son! The only thing that can beat a Creed is a Drago!" As noted late last night here on the website, The Nasty Boys have been fired from TNA as well. There is much more to this story that we are trying to confirm before reporting. We will definitely have more on this shortly so stay tuned!

-- According to the webmaster of the official website of The Honky Tonk Man, Brian Knobbs was involved in an incident at a TNA function where Spike TV executives were present. They were said to be very unhappy with his behavior, which resulted in both being let go. We can now confirm that the duo has indeed been let go. As of this post, their profiles have yet be removed from the company website, thus deeming their respective departures official.

Oh, sure. People have known for years that the Nasty Boys were idiots, but it takes Spike TV officials for TNA to fire them... Personally, I remember THE FANS saying they were a waste of time, but that's probably just me.

EXCLUSIVE: Poor Backstage Reaction to Dixie Carter Tweet
by Nick Paglino
Apr 01, 2010

I spoke with a source in TNA this morning who told me that there was a genuinely horrific backstage reaction to Dixie Carter's latest Tweet concerning Impact and Shawn Michaels.

For those who did not read the Tweet, Carter posted the following this past Tuesday: "Thank goodness he can only retire once...hopefully. Shawn, congrats on an amazing career!"

Carter was reacting to the very low 0.56 cable rating that Impact drew this past Monday night and her Tweet seemed to blame the low rating on the fact that WWE booked Shawn Michaels' retirement speech for Raw that night, which took away from TNA's ratings. However, when you look at the quarter hour break down of Impact, the entire show performed poorly which in no way can be blamed on the HBK segment on Raw, which aired in the show's main event time slot.

According to the TNA source I spoke with, many people backstage in the company were shocked that Dixie actually blamed the rating on the HBK segment, and feel that her Tweet further proved that she has a lot to learn. Additionally, many people felt that her Tweet was disrespectful, as it was more of an excuse for the poor Impact rating as opposed to a respectful farewell to HBK, which it seemed like she was going for.

i blame it on the company being in its infant stages, jumping into Monday night WAY too soon, and having the wrong management in place to move foward.plus dixie carter is a woman who by all means is just clueless!

Ric Flair-Orlando Jordan's Boyfriend Incident.

As reported yesterday, reaction to Orlando Jordan's segment on Monday's iMPACT! was largely negative amongst the wrestlers in the locker room. Ric Flair was said to be among the most vocal detractors of the segment when it was taped on Mar. 23.

Later that night, a number of wrestlers and personnel headed out a nearby bar. Flair had a few drinks and began complaining about the manner in which Jordan's on-air male companion was dancing on the bar's dance floor and added there's no place for him in the locker room. He eventually got so worked up that he angrily approached the male companion and created a scene.

One wrestler said Flair "cut a Ric Flair promo on him." He then told him he's "an embarrassment" and demanded that he "sit the f--- down."

The male companion was said to be shaken by the wrestling legend's comments and left the bar shortly thereafter.

Jeff Hardy & Moore Pushing Matt Hardy To Join TNA

It looks like TNA stars Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore are trying to get WWE superstar Matt Hardy to "cross the ilne" and jump ship from WWE to TNA after the two wrote "cryptic" messages on Twitter last night.

Shannon More wrote: "@MATTHARDBRAND time to jump ship brudda. Ship has set sail. Tell Ace you quit and be a Heavens Demon!!!"

Jeff Hardy then wrote the following: "Maybe my brother can join tha demons next time if he gets his shit together."

Presumably the "Ace" that Shannon was referring to is WWE's John "Johnny Ace" Laurinaitis.

As noted earlier, Jeff Hardy, Shannon Moore and Gregory Helms attended last night's UFC Fight Night 21 live show from North Carolina.
