My new top 10, week 6, in which 3 of the top ten lost:
# 1. LSU (6-0) - The Tigers didn't look great against Florida (now 4-2) for the most part, but they showed what it means to be the number one team in the nation by coming back and winning the game!
# 2. California (5-0) - Moving up after the USC loss and recuperating in a bye week.
# 3. Ohio State (6-0) - Shhh. Don't tell anyone but the Buckeyes are in perfect position for the BSC Title game. They held high-scoring Purdue to SEVEN points!
# 4. South Florida (5-0) - Some polls might have Boston College in this slot but USF has beat 2 ranked opponents and the Eagles only one. I also pick the Bulls here for sheer wow factor; as goes the Bulls, so goes this wacky season.
# 5. Boston College (6-0) - I don't think that the Eagles have been ranked this high since the Flutie Era, and that was years ago.
Okay... this is where ranking the remaining teams becomes hard; do I go with the remaining undefeated? Or strong one-loss teams?
# 6. Oklahoma (5-1) - The one loss thus far is going to haunt them.
# 7. South Carolina (5-1) - Ol' Ball Coach has them Gamecocks in the top 10!
# 8. West Virginia - (5-1) - The Mountaineers get back into the top 10.
# 9. Missouri (5-0) The Tigers just bitchslapped Nebraska and roared their way into My top 10.
#10. Oregon (4-1) - The Ducks over The USC Trojans? YES; it's a case of looking how both teams have won and lost, and Oregon has a slight edge over the Trojans in both cases.
Still undefeated: Kansas, Hawaii, Cincinnati, Arizona State, and Connecticut.
No longer defeated: Notre Dame; for shame UCLA, for shame!
What the fuck is up with them: Nebraska, Rutgers, Louisville, and Arkansas. These teams have better talent than what their records indicate.
What an awesome Saturday!
