The 2011 MLB Thread

Well the Giants entire offense is putrid so if the pitchers give up runs they will lose. Sadly the Rockies and Diamondbacks just can't seem to stay consistent. don't be surprised if the NL West winner has 85 or so total victories

The Cubs excel ay awful but as long as the fans pack Wrigley and buy stuff the owners don't care to make the team better

Wow, it's not everyday that I get to watch my Cubbies get thoroughly beaten twice in one day. This team is horseshit, the management is horseshit, and the coach is horseshit. Why am I still watching?

Carlos Peña has been in beast mode lately with 7 HR in the last week or so. And Starlin Castro at the ripe age of 21 is far and away our best player. I guess those are two bright spots in the sea of darkness that is this season of baseball on the North Side.

Well, the Jays lost. To the Pirates.

Barf.

But on the plus side, Jose Bautista > God.

You also could have said that he's better than the Easter Bunny, but what's the point of comparing him to fictional characters? :dunno:

I don't like him because his first name is Jose and he plays for Toronto. That's just me though.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of what will soon be 103 years of failure.

Runners on second and third with no outs in the bottom of the eighth down one run and the Jays didn't even score a single run to just tie the game. That is disgraceful. Also disgraceful is the fact that they lost to the Pirates and that the Pirates (i.e. the worst run organization in sports) actually have a better record than them. It is not a good time to be a Jays fan.

P.S. Jose Bautista is the man. I can't wait to see him in the Home Run Derby after not being invited last year despite leading the league in home runs.

Ian Kennedy not making the NL All-Star Team is a terrible snub. Paul Konerko is one of the top five hitters in baseball and he didn't make the AL Team either. Ridiculous. I hope both those guys get in on the Final Vote.

Oh, and Jose Bautista leading the league in votes and breaking Ken Griffey Jr.'s 17-year old record for the most votes for the All-Star Game... wonderful.

Jim Thome hit his 595th career jack today. Soon to become one of only about 8 all time, and 3 of those (Bonds, Sosa and Rodriguez) were dopers.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention to the season as closely as I should be,but how in the hell is Paul Konerko not in the starting line up for the All Star Game?!

How the hell did Carlos Quentin get chosen over Konerko. For Konerko is just a matter of position, it's awful tough when you play in the same league as Adrian Gonzalez and Miguel Cabrera. Sox fans will get him in with the Final Vote. Vote for Paulie!

I can see why he's not in the starting lineup when you consider that Adrian Gonzalez is the starting first baseman, but for Konerko to be snubbed is ridiculous. He's been one of the top five hitters in baseball this season. He'd better get the Final Vote.

It would probably be easier to just stop trying to make sense of the all star game. How it's played and how players are picked has a large nonsensical factor to it and has for decades now.
