Considering the murderer was Mexican, I am unsure who - besides you - is playing the 6-degree game.

It certainly is a good argument for stricter immigration. I personally have no problem when people come to this country for a better life, but there is a process, and laws governing that, Had the boarder been a little more secure, he might have been prevented from getting in, maybe this wouldn't have happened. No guarantees, but the odds would have been better. I want to know where he got the gun. I want to know if an American dealer pissed on the laws, or he got it illegally from an outside criminal source.

I haven't read it yet, just an add on to what's here. I did read the article, it mostly deals with no leads and the shooters history. Nothing really important. He was her legally this time, but may have overstayed his allotted time here.

Yeah, it's sus that was put in there. How is it relevant? Are they saying he's only targeting illegals?
At the very least, stating that he's considered armed and dangerous would have been a hell of a lot more relevant.
How does someone get approved to enter the country after being deported that many times?

Which brings us back to what I've been saying, There has to be a lot of repairs done to immigration, and controlling who gets across the boarder. I don't have statistics, but how many people are killed one by one every week by people here illegally, due to gang activity and similar circumstances? Those people count, just as much, and deserve the same justice as those killed in a mass shooting. Maybe if we fixed the problem, the people that come here just because it's the land of opportunity, would be able to get through quicker, and with less red tape. This family didn't do anything to deserve this, and they should get justice, but unfortunately weren't in a position to call law enforcement to handle a dangerous situation. If they were involved in anything shady, it would have been divulged.

The murderer in Uvalde was born in the USA. So how would shutting the border have stopped that crime? Or many of the other mass shootings? This one is atypical.

Statistics can be fun and enlightening: In 2022, 62. In 2021, 60. Before then the numbers were less than a handful per year. Since there were roughly 26,000 murders in 2022, citizens were responsible for roughly 99.8% of them.

As far as the Uvalde, and other schools, and gun free zones, AGAIN, harden the targets, and put security in place, before using the 2nd as toilet paper.
At least you gave a link to government statistics, my only problem is, criminals, don't report crimes. So how many people legal or otherwise, are going to go to the cops when they get hurt in the commission of a criminal act. I have a friend that rides, with a patch on his back, and if one of the guys in his club get hurt, they call a "private" doctor. I'm not going to argue that a vast majority of crimes are committed by citizens, but that still doesn't help or fix the problem we have at the border, and it doesn't help the flow of drugs, that I would hope you believe are a serious plague in this country, and help to fuel crime and violence. as I've said before, fix the immigration situation, so those people sneaking their families here for a better life, can go through the proper procedure more easily, and quickly, then being forced to become law breakers. In fact, maybe, just maybe if we started bringing the hammer down hard on the criminal element, that is making mexico the shithole it is, they wouldn't even want to leave, or have to. The president of mexico is obviously in the pockets of the cartels, so lets just put one in his melon, and install a puppet regime. We certainly have done it before, although it was for oil, and not the betterment of this countries well being.

I would presume most murders - the point of discussion - are reported so the number is probably fairly accurate. Let’s say the true number is twice the reported count, it doesn’t change the math very much.

No, it doesn't. If you look at most of the cities with extremely high crime rates, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, etc., seem to have a revolving door of justice. The liberals call it justice reform. Low, or no bail for what they call non violent crimes, but how many get caught for violent crimes while out on bail? A lot, that's how many. Start putting these people in prison too, start cleaning up the streets. All of this is related in some fashion, usually drugs are the common thread, which is considered non violent. Problem is, we aren't talking about weed, were talking about meth, fentanyl, heroin. All of that garbage is coming from some where. This isn't just about people coming here to get away from violence and poverty, it's about the people that cause that there, bringing it here. I most certainly am not advocating passing by white or black criminals so we can get illegals, I'm talking about the whole lot of filth that infects our society. No gun control, or bans will stop any violence. Those people that move between America and Mexico with impunity, will fill the void of weapons availability if anything is banned. If you make it illegal, a criminal will make it a successful business. If someone wants to run amok, and can't go to a gun store to buy one legally, they will find one illegally, and that target, left un secured as I've said before, will still fall. It's all tied together, and it has to be handled as a bundle. There was a story on yahoo that we are sending 1500 troops to help the national guard. I don't exactly remember the story, but lets ask the question, would they really send in 1500 army troops, if there wasn't some serious bullshit going on. You know as well as I do, the government only tells you what they want you to know, when they want you to know it.

Well it looks like they got him. I'm surprised, I figured he would run back to mexico, and never face justice. Unfortunately he didn't have the balls to level a gun at police, so they could have eradicated him permanently. I just hope mexico doesn't give us any shit about putting him on trial, and executing him. I'm assuming since it's Texas, they'll put him down, I just hope it isn't 10 years before he gets the needle.

He deserves capital punishment as soon as practical. Mexico will certainly object to our executing him though. Since he was in the US, our laws should take precedence.

Absolutely, and I think Texas will fight extradition. It's the Feds that worry me. They tend to have a skewed sense of what's right, and what they believe is right. The president of mexico has been getting pretty bold lately. He denies ANY involvement in the fentanyl crisis, and has even call on China to get involved. He has come right out and told America, if they have a problem with the cartels, to call out our military to handle it. I personally think that's a good idea. If we can drone strike an islamic leader, we can target a drug lord. I find it hard to believe we can't gather the proper intel to get the job done. If you're gonna call it a war, fight it like one, and fight to win.
