Rap "Music" Sucks

I guess I should clarify...it's not artistic and it's annoying...sorry...can't change my mind on this one

It just depends on who you (or anyone else) can relate to. Everyone doesn't get everything.

I listen to all kinds of music from classical to country to rap... I admit though, I'm frankly much more open minded about many more things than the average person.

I just adopt the practice of trying not to knock something I personally can't relate to.

Just because you don't get something doesn't mean it doesn't merit artistic qualities...which essentially means somewhere someone can relate to it spiritually.:2 cents:

I don't care how many billions of dollars it pulls in worldwide...I find that a lot of people that listen to it...can't spell :(

Fair enough.

Just saying....you not liking it is one personal thing...saying it sucks is at odds with the fact that the stuff sells billions of dollars worldwide.....in cultures and societies that have no one in them that looks like the average rapper. It was veritably on top of the "music" world for quite a while.

That alone suggests it is clearly an art as the easiest way to recognize some things as art is the ability of it's relationship to transcend backgrounds, cultures, etc.:2 cents:

Believe me, I'm not trying. I respect people's likes and dislikes...the world would be pretty boring if everyone liked the same things.

You don't like it? Meh:dunno: But saying it's not artistic is at odds with the facts.

No problem and I do agree that I am ordinarily more composed than this diatribe would seem to indicate. However, had you been subjected to what was something that I find so despicable and irritating for 3 solid hours tonight while I was, for business reasons, forced to be "nice" to this client (whom I really despise), you might have a few raw nerve endings too.

I'll eventually get over it and I will most certainly return to my nice old reasonable Jagger self once again I assure you. In the meantime, sometimes the gorilla comes out of his cage. Tonight, he came out.

No problem Jag, we all fall off the wagon from time to time. You actually READ some of the threads and posts around here lately!!??

One time some hot chick I was putting the time into (among other things! :D) wanted to take me to a Country bar cause thats what she was into for some strange reason (being from NJ no less!) and I figured "How bad can it be?"........Well, after 4 hours of Line Dancing, Big belt buckles, Tight ass Wrangler Jeans, Ten-Gallon hats, Tasseled shirts, Fake bull riding and Shit kicking music about losing the dog and the Pick-up truck, needless to say I wanted to stick pencils in my eyes and ears!
So you see Jag, I certainly feel your pain!!:hatsoff:

Rap is wrong. It sucks. I hate it.

OK, all you ass-backwards ballcap-wearing homeboy SOBs can go ahead tear me apart....I don't care. Your "music" is garbage.

This coming from a man from Texas. The asshole of America.

Rap/Hip-hop is the most popular genre of music in America is it not?:yesyes:
Look it up. Keep your opinions to yourself next time cause if any music genre sucks it is definitely that ear bleeding country music.

I've always been a rock n roll enthusiast, but theres some rappers with genuine and creative talent. I'll definitely agree that these days there is a lot of c-rap, but IMO some rap is legit. Unfortunately rap has been besmirched by modern jokers who call themselves entertainers who lack meaning in their lyrics and make money out of recycling the same shit. The talentless hacks I'm talking about are the ones who wear $1000 sunglasses, over sized clothes and tacky golden bling in their videos talking about how "gangsta" they are. Music isn't about gimmicks and showmanship it's about soul. Mad props to rappers who keep it real and sing about something relevant.

Co-sign^ (except for the R&B part! :D)

The Golden Age of Hip Hop (late 80's to early 90's) was the BEST time for Rap Music.
I agree, a lot sucks in the last decade or so, but a lot is still great.
Anything Dr. Dre, Eminem and 50 Cent does is great by me. Also, cant deny Jay Z's stuff as well as Nas......the rest? Meh!:dunno:

This coming from a man from Texas. The asshole of America.

I take it you've never been to the Lone Star state if you would choose to make such a statement. Still, you are entitled to your opinion. Doesn't bother me one way or the other.

Rap/Hip-hop is the most popular genre of music in America is it not?:yesyes:
I don't care. It isn't the most popular as far as I am concerned. Lots of things are popular that aren't worth a shit. Rap is one of them.

Keep your opinions to yourself next time...
If you don't like my opinion, that's fine. To tell me not to express it? Out of line....sorry roronoa, I'll say whatever I want. If you don't like it, disagree or call me an asshole or whatever but please do not intimate that I cannot express my opinion. Last time I looked, the constitution (at least most of it) was still in effect.

Jagger should go join the MOB.(HATERZ)

Not sure I understand that comment. Please explain.

Yea I have that is why I said it.

So the majority is wrong and you are right?

The constitution says nothing about making broad generalizations of a genre of music cause of spent a few hours in a night club.

Again, I said you have the right to that opinion. Doesn't bother me one way or the other. In fact, I like it. It keeps people like you out of Texas.

So the majority is wrong and you are right?

Yep....pretty much. Very well stated, sir!

Yes it does. See the 1st amendment.

Why does it get under you skin so bad that I hate rap? So fucking what? Get over it, dude.

It's all just clicks and whistles in my ear. Can't stand it, can't stand the "culture" it is fostering and the degeneration of the English language it has caused.
