I personally don't think that if your over 18 you should date a 16 year old in the US for legal reasons.
Even if the parents don't care.
IF your A) Rich B)Willing to take Responsibility and C) Get along with the parents. Then I don't see a problem with it. But if you aren't then it is a problem.
Because its only going to lead to something you both don't want later anyways. What if she gets pregnant? Not at 16 but at 17/18/19/20? Will you be able to afford it? Don't think so. Pregnancy is expensive even with Healthcare. Im still paying for my baby. And she is 3 years old.
Most guys (including me) won't want to be stuck at home with a baby and definitly won't want to be stuck home with that "Hot" wife that doesn't like to clean up her own mess or doesn't like to take responsibility for herself. Not that women are the big problem. But believe it or not 9/10 a guy is going to want a secure girl so that she can help him be responsible for his mess and his responsibilities. (Im a big guilty there.)
And if your over 18 and she is under. If the parents don't like you... You should be man enough to say "Okay... I'll back off and if she is still interested in a couple years maybe you'll change your mind about me."

I'm involved with therapy groups and I happen to know girls that are 14,15,16,17 years old that look for guys that are sometimes 10-20 years older than them. I dont condone that behavior but if there's a guy who's 18-19 years old with a girl that's 16-17 years old I dont see a problem with it mainly because a lot of the time they were a couple in high school. Just because the guy turns 18 he's supposed to stop seeing her? I'm sorry but I dont feel that way and I see no problem with them staying together.

Everytime I visit this message board ,there are 2,3 or more new polls to vote in...leave it out !!
Polls about favourite porn stars and who should be the next bond are fair enough , but wanting to know how much someone earns or who they will vote for or what their favourite colour is or if they prefer pepsi or coke or even which hand you wank with......jeez.
I know a lot of you like to vote in these polls,they can be interesting....sometimes.
I just think we need to hold back with the number of 'frivolous' polls that are being created.

Oooh, about closed minded fundimentalist christians, grrr... My older sister is actively involved in the children's ministries at her church and loves it, but a few weeks agao she offered to join the worship because she knew they we struggling for people. Unfortunately, this simple offer opened up a pandora's box of troubles. The Pastor said he would have to think about it because he wasn't sure if she should be involved in such an "important and up front" ministry because she plays Dungeons and Dragons (a popular, fantasy based roleplaying game). He then asked to have a meeting with her to discuss this. They had their meeting and they have now given her an ultimatum that either she stop playing D&D and ALSO stop associating with any friends that are involved in wicca (witch craft; which counts for a good few of her close friends) or she withdraw from any and all ministries she is involved in. How incredibly stupid is this?? I mean D&D is a GAME! Nothing more, nothing less. Hell, I play it when I can, its really fun and there is nothing more "evil" about it than like, watch Lord of the Rings. But her Pastor is convinced that it is evil and... ugh, it's just so stupid and sooooo frustrating!! And my parents wonder why I don't like going to that church?!!

I can see you wanted to get off that your chest,lol, sounded relieved. But yeah I agree with what you said, I love Dungeons and Dragons. I remember watching the cartoon version when I was so little, it was soooo cool. And now when it comes to the game version and playing it, people are against it???? Why???? I dont understand what could make you dislike that game. I feel that is unfair and your friend should not be made to choose nor put in that situation. Yeah it is a game, I mean that's like saying If I dont go to church for one Sunday, I cant play Gran Turismo or any games that I have never again. It's unbelievable, and it's got me bamboozled.
Yeah, I know, its super stupid, but what they're going on is the use of magic and stupid stuff like that in the game... I'll hafta get my sis to send me a copy of the letter the pastor sent her, it has some interesting passages in it that would really highlight the absurdity of their thinking!
