We're the most diverse country on the planet. There are all sorts of quotas in place to "even the score" for people of color.


And have any European countries ever nominated a black president or prime minister? To all these self-righteous Canadians, have you ever put a person of color in your highest office? I think we have made much more progress than you imply and certainly more than most of Europe.

Don't forget the quotas set in place for women, which is usually overlooked despite the fact that they benefit the most from such programs. And I don't think Europe has had a person of color in charge of anything since Abram Petrovich Gannibal:stir:

I think you just described the problem with Washington DC. Both sides are too polarized. There is no compromise. It is all or nothing. I give the trophy to the Republicans who are completely weighed down by the extreme right at this point, but the Democrats are not innocents.

In Finland there are only a few colored people.

But formed president was a woman, and the parliament has a few female minister.

It is step forwar in a country where a woman's place has traditionally been the kitchen.

Give me a break. Liberal democrats are some of the nastiest people on the planet. Neocons don't come off as vicious, at least to me, and I certainly don't like Neocons - Neocons come off to me as just a pseudo-conservative type of group. Any group of people that support wars all over the place and "policing" the world really turn me off but just look at some places like Dailykos and Moveon for some really nasty shit on the other hand.

And save that Tea Party bullshit too because they are a pretty small group on the right and still aren't as vicious as some of the other extreme leftist groups - these groups support extremist militant gay rights groups and abortion backers, black power communist groups, LaRaza brown supremacist groups and you name it.
