President Obama - Profiles in Leadership

As if McConnell won't do the same if needed to advance the conservative agenda? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. He just serves a different master. I do agree that Harry Reid sucks however....unfortunately, so does McConnell.

It will be interesting to see what happens now that the republicans will actually have to start initiating solutions rather than just complaining. And the dems will, of course, now assume the role of obstructionists and whiners. The field has flipped is all....and it will give the American electorate 2 years to evaluate progress and judge the majority party accordingly in the 2016 presidential election.

I hope McConnell isn't elected as the senate majority leader. Apparently he's expected it to happen his whole career which is all the more reason why it shouldn't.

All respect to professional politicians and their political savvy and what they're able to accomplish on election day, by the same token, fuck them.

On a lesser note and what warms my heart is Dave Brat, the small college professor and the "tea party" candidate rejected by the tea party because he had no chance to win but went on to knock off House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, won a his congressional house seat yesterday.

Who would you want to see elected majority leader? I hope someone besides Harry Reid gets the minority leadership, but really, who would want it, looks like a pretty shitty job. If it were mine to appoint I'd give it to Al Franken, he just got re-elected so he can be a real dick for the next five years before he has to worry about another re-election campaign.

Partly because, for many people, Left = Socialism/Communism, Soviet Union/China/Cuba, because to some Amereicans, "liberal" is an insult but nobody considers "Conservative" to be anything but a neutral adjective.
For decades (and still now) the Left has be demonised, so it's not surprising at all that so few americans agree to consider themselves leftists.

liberal was a nice term for the left to use for quite some time. It connoted freedom of choice and change with the times. The conservative label was of staunchy old time never to change thinking. The battle of rhetoric labeling shifted when the right compared the left agenda to socialism; redistribution of wealth, the nanny state, socialist doctrines professed in public universities, etc. Since the liberal label became a scar they came up with a new term, progressive. That's a nice feel good term.

Someone who can reach out or attempt to with President Obama. I'm thinking compromise and reconciliation (you know, pie in the sky stuff) McConnell and Obama's relationship is toxic at best. Then if Obama still doesn't want to deal with the GOP congress, it's on him. But i think it's a moot point. Obama is too proud and arrogant and he's going to come out defiant after this defeat. So be it.

College is soooo overrated.
Grammar police are lonely lonely people.

ZeeBlow Ace is just baiting. Same with Animus Fox and now a guy named Raine.

In real life I talk fast which results in my writing.

Two in college any paper I wrote, I had sat down with a tutor to make sure it was correctly formatted in APA style.

Three I don't proof read on here.

Four there are others in the world who write bad but are still knowledgeable.

Fifth to please the grammar policy on the P & R board I will use Microsoft-Word as the blue (a vs an) and green (fragmented) prompts will tell you that the grammar is wrong.

Last, Ace, Animus, and Raine (Read your remark that Dino quoted on another thread) have you guys on ignore so go ahead and quote to the rest of the FOs community my short comings in writing :).

Full Retard
Dumb
Stupid
loser
Whatever, but others get the meaning. Just bait words by Ace who only has the GOP, racial intolerance, hasn't got laid since HS, (Oxford Comma) and no siblings to past on values to. Can tell how you respond here :)

That is why his new theme song is "White & Nerdy"

Actually Progressives has been around for a long time. Started in Wisconsin with Robert La Follette in the early 1900's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_M._La_Follette,_Sr.

Wisconsin's alt motto is "The Progressive State" with "The Badger State".

I second your points on the issue of people putting spellcheck over content

We could proceed into some psychological probabilities of those who get lost in grammarisation and loose the way to finding out what they really wanted to say. Maybe a Forum PlugIn would be nice, with which they can paint red marks on our posts and sum it up with nasty exam summaries. To be honest, I feel their pain - I was (and sometimes am) like that, too

Can we get back on topic? Because leaving topic is a big mistake in classroo too ;)

More Americans identify themselves as center or right than they do left.

The Grand Tetons and the most conservative state? I'm packing my bags for Wyoming.

Animus, would you really leave a beautiful place like Oregon also leaving the Ducks behind? I live in a liberal state too and am not liberal. I take the good with the bad but California is still a nice place too. I'll stay here as long as I can afford and justify to. I think both of us are lucky to live on the West Coast out here. I've never been to Oregon but I've always wanted to see it and drive the coast route up to Vancouver. I will someday and also take some amazing pictures.

Wyoming looks like a nice place but also seems boring as fuck. Apologies to the Wyomingistanians.

California is nice and the pacific northwest is beautiful. But taking a trip through eastern oregon recently just appealed to something in me. It's the quintessential American West - that rugged independence. Wyoming more so. Fuck politics. It's the Call of the Wild for me. Just cut me loose and call me Buck.

Imagine sharing that view with that special someone.

Nice pic.

I was neighbors with John Lithgow. He's an Upstate New Yorker who moved out here for obvious reasons. He had a nice house in the neighborhood. He kept telling me how much he hated it here mentioning he was moving to Montana. He did exactly that. I first met him pretty much the exact way he killed that first girl in Dexter. Leaned down to rub my dog's chin and smiled. I feel lucky to be alive writing this post.

LA is my home. I'm born here. I lived in Texas for 2 years and it wasn't me at all even though much of my family are proud Texans.

I had my truck broken into a couple Christmases ago while picking up rent from a tenant. I became furious and confused looking around for anyone "good for it". My tenant smiled and told me, "That's part of the price of living in LA." I don't know if what he said was good but certainly more sane than what I was thinking at the moment. Overall, I find living in Los Angeles to be a positive experience. I like my city warts and all. Thieves and all too. We still have a lot to offer.

That has to be taken under consideration. Many here don't like Barack Obama whether not liking him from the start or disappointed in the man as a whole after supporting him. Some supporters had 2-3 Obama bumper stickers on their car, signs on their lawns, crap littering the inside of their homes, T-Shirts, and some so ignorantly enchanted they got tattooed and marked for life. We all make our mistakes no matter where we come from or what ideology gets beaten into our heads. Today is a new day. We need to come together in America not letting either side own us. America is a tough country and if you wanna fuck with us you better bring a lunch.

And we've got legal weed now. Not just the 'medical variety'!

...but watch out. Oregon drivers are notoriously bad, bad as in slow, and this weed legalisation will probably just exacerbate that.

Beautiful state just full of Oregonians.
It's not a joke about Oregonians being weird.
