The point is that you're trying to speak for Obama in setting his legislative agenda. That's horseshit, it's your own fabrication, and you can't provide a link that backs up the bullshit assertions you're making. Once again I find myself having to tell you that when you make an accusation it's on you to prove it. You seem to be in the habit of making shit up, pretending it's fact, then getting butthurt when you're called on it. I suppose I would be foolish to expect better form.

OK...please provide a link that proves your assertions that it's bullshit, and he's making it up.
Back it up before demanding others must prove their facts to your lazy ass.

He made the claim, he has to prove it. Of course you're another motherfucker that doesn't understand how honest debate works, so kindly refrain from addressing me.

Don't worry I will provide it for you since you haven't been paying attention for 6 years. There are enough speeches, meetings , audio and written indications of his agenda to bring this thread up to 10 pages before the day is over. I do have work to do in between posting here but I will do my best. Are you sure that degree you hold shouldn't be attributed to a tutor that helped you along the way also?

You can post whatever the fuck you like, the point has already been made that you're attempting to speak for Obama, and that's horseshit. Don't drag my education into this conversation when it's pretty fucking apparent You Missed all the logic courses required for a JD. Yeah, you might be a paralegal, but I doubt even that.

A 2001 interview of Sen. Barack Obama. Seriously, you should write a book based on conjecture and poor logic, and call it Obama's America, and make it into a movie. Oh, wait, that's been done. Never mind.

Im full of conspiracy theories? Because I gave examples of how criminal the previous administration was? really?

I am in favor of many things on both sides and have pointed some of those out. I gave SPECIFIC examples when asked about the criminal and deceit of the Bush administration.

Those are NOT conspiracies dude. those are factual cover ups that were exposed. Jessica Lynch was sold to the media as going down firing her weapon and being brutalized and held at gun point, when in reality her gun jammed and she never fired a single shot and was being held by Iraqui doctors who she says took great care of her. The rescue was done by 1000 soldiers and they waited 2 days for the film crew to get there...the entire thing was propaganda by the white house to sell their war. that shit isnt "conspiracy theory" as you say that is FACT. same goes for Tillman, that is all factual things that were done by the Bush administration to the American people.

until they make punishment in prison harsher, Im all for letting some piece of shit watch the clock tick on his life.

Fair enough and I REALLY don't want to turn this into yet another death penalty discussion, but are you in favor of this without reservation, Mariah? Even if one (or more) of his co-perpetrators plead their way out of it and turned state's evidence against him to avoid the needle? Even if someone who committed the exact same (or worse) crime is given a prison term instead of the needle? Even if the "piece of shit" is posthumously proven to be innocent? These are the types of things that happen under our current system on a regular basis. The 14th amendment guarantees equal justice under the law. Yet it is repeatedly and blatantly violated by the present process.

If your answer is yes, there's nothing I can say. Way too many people rationalize the death penalty by saying things like you just said and then turning a blind eye to the way the policy is implemented. However, if your answer is no, how can you possibly be in favor of capital punishment?

Just something to think about.

PS- They don't get any amenities on death row.

Here are a few direct quotes from President Obama. You can brush them off as being statements from the past but his policies as president reflect his core beliefs.

"It’s because you have an obligation to yourself. Because our individual salvation depends on collective salvation." - Barack Obama
The ultimate goal of socialism is collective prosperity.

"I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets." - Barack Obama (Dreams of My Father)

Like Frank Marshall Davis. Obama's mentor and member of the Communist Party Of The USA

He only refers to him as "Frank" in his book.

Political discussions, the kind at Occidental had once seemed so intense and purposeful, came to take on the flavor of the socialist conferences I sometimes attended at Cooper Union" - Barack Obama (Dreams of My Father)

Oh really? What was your interest in attending socialist conferences back then Mr. president?

"Well, Charlie, what I’ve said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness." - Barack Obama

The cornerstone of Communism/Socialism is fairness for the masses.

Sound familiar? "Everybody pays their fair share.. everybody gets a fair shot". No life is not fair and it is not up to you to expand government to make it so.

The ACA or "Obamacare" as it is known. pure socialism from the get go. Upon full implementation the costs to small businesses will be such that they will have no choice but to lay off workers or cut their hours considerably. Don't believe me? Business never assumes cost in anything. They pass on higher taxes, mandated higher wages to the consumer. When the minimum wage increases the direct result is that the cost of living increases. Effect: Status quo

I'll post more later. But I expect more head in the sand mentality from those that don't agree with me.

These are the same sentiments expressed here and all over this board. The language is cleaned up and is class warfare at it's finest. But it is rooted in socialist beliefs. Now people think everyone is entitled to health care whether they earn it or not. You are not entitled to anything if you are not willing to work for it. The Constitution is clear on the role of government. Obama has a lot of problems with the U.S. Constitution. it is the number one obstacle in his way of fundamentally transforming this country and he would tear it up tomorrow if he could. Yes it sucks that some people don't have health care and there will always be injustice in this world. it is up to individuals to help those in need. That's what charities are for. Not government to take from those that earned their money and give it away to those that can't or won't.

The problem isn't anyone's head in the sand, the problem is you're reaching for something that isn't there.
Didn't we establish over a year ago that we would never agree?

I believe that Obama has socialist core beliefs, you believe that he is a good progressive using government for the betterment of this country.

Mariah believes GWB is a war criminal and that everybody should have health care because she became enlightened later in life based upon her own life experiences.

I will be the first one to beat the drum of a trial for Bush if formal charges and evidence can be brought forth and not the kind of evidence that comes from documentaries or sound bytes.

Jagger is vehemently opposed to the death penalty for personal reasons. All of these opinions I can respect but at the same time I will voice my disagreement until such time that I come to a different conclusion.

I personally had a client that was ultimately executed for the murder of 2 people in Western North Carolina. He requested that I be a witness at his execution. The after effect on me was that I was completely drained and went to a hotel and drank scotch for 3 days afterward. I support the death penalty still but with certain exclusions. It is something that I will never do again.

Even if Obama has socialist beliefs, that's not how he's governed. You act as if having socialist beliefs makes someone inherently bad. You use it as a weapon, much the way the word liberal was once used as a weapon. It's horseshit. Do you consider President Eisenhower a socialist? His policies were to the left of Obama.

You are not talking to Sammy here. If I were to meet the President I would treat him with the respect that he and the office deserves. I am not a republican homer. I am however a conservative. A case could be made that Nixon was as much a socialist as Obama. But Eisenhower or Nixon never sought what I feel is as destructive legislation as Obamacare. The number one disagreement I have with him is Obamacare and his wish to redistribute wealth to implement his policies.

Other than that, I could care less if he wants to sit at a table with Iran, North Korea or anyone. I could care less about his stance on gay marriage either.

I haven't seen any evidence of wealth redistribution. The rich keep getting richer and the gap between rich and poor keeps getting wider. Obamacare wasn't my first choice for healthcare reform, seems to me that it's nothing but a big windfall for the insurance companies. No surprise seeing as how the idea originated with the Heritage Foundation. As with everything else the Obama Administration has tried to do the main priority of the Republicans was to make Obama a one-term president, not work together to make a better healthcare law.

Bottom line is this, I'm tired of hearing the "socialist" label. It's nothing more than gutter politics, not rooted in reality, and really, has run it's fucking course.

Here are some FACTS that are overlooked by the talking heads on the right who proclaim the 1950s America to be where we need to return:

1952 tax rates were in the 70 percentile for top earners - today it's 35%. I pay my taxes and will pay more if asked. I agree we need to verify where it's being spent, but that again is another role for government.
in 1952 the government regulated far more things than they do today. Such as:
business. if you were to have shipped jobs overseas or outsourced manufacturing in 1952 you wouldnt stay in business because you would be taxed to death for it.
the price of milk. the price of travel. the price of utilities. the price of health care. the price of gasoline. the price of groceries. the price of housing. the price of automobiles.

There is a great difference between marginal tax rates and effective tax rates. There were at least twice as many tax brackets back then, and many more deductions. When you remove deductions along with cutting the top marginal rate, you end up with a similar effective tax rate. The top 1% have been at 20% for some time.
