Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Detroit maybe brewing 2 deliver another shock to the NHL!! the REDWINGS need to trade a d-man to fit under the salary cap, or clear a roster spot, something technical! but now the PENGUINS are without GONCHAR (4-6 months due to shoulder surgery) I think I can smell something happening!!

If the REDWINGS can got another POWER FORWARD for a D-man?? IMHO the penguins are now desperate for a quality top 4 D-man!! and it would only make sense if the D-man could play a ton of minutes and be able to play as a top 4, AND PLAY in all situations!! I don't know if it could be done with the REDWINGS salary cap issues but they have to deal 1 and Pittsburgh definitely needs a (good too great) 1 too salvage or save their season until GONCHAR can play again!! otherwise they will not make the playoffs!! I haven't read any rumors or speculation, but it wouldn't suprise me if Detroit and Pittsburgh swap a few players! well we'll wait and see!! :hatsoff:

dammit we traded Nick Tarnasky to the Predators for a 5th or 6th round pick. that's bullshit.

There wasn't any room on the roster for him , and he can't be sent to the minors without clearing waivers first so it's the best they could do . Also , they couldn't trade him for another player because they are already close to the cap . They placed Michel ouellet on waivers .

Rangers beat the Euro champs 4-3, and Ottawa beat Goteberg 4-1.

They really should look into organizing games against the KHL. The Russians are probably the only league that can truely compete with the NHL.

The traveling would be a really serious issue!! unless the whole league had designated time period just like the olympic's?

it wouldn't be fair to teams that had to go closer to playoff time or whatever, but I would have to oppose it, due to the fact what if one of the russian teams made it to the finals??

I seriously doubt any of the NHL team owners would agree to the traveling issues involved to play russia, nor would the (russians) agree to play us on our side of the pond all the time!! I don't see how it could work?? not a bad thought as far as competitions sake, but I think all the issues above would pretty much void any reality of it happening! :hatsoff:

Pittsburgh Penguins - Helsinki Jokerit 4 - 1
Penguins were much better, tho Jokerit outshot Penguins 17-5 in second period, but scored only once, and it was from penalty shot.

I agree with you. THe KHL is the best league here in Europe, and in the following years maybe more attractive than The NHL too.

I wasn't suggesting that the KHL join the NHL...

I was suggesting that they play preseason games against each other, like they are doing with the Euro teams right now.

Ok I see what your saying, its pretty good for competition sake, but the teams don't really want to play in europe, for preseason games or too kick off the NHL regular season in europe, it taxes the teams a great deal for awhile after they return! (many owners, coaches, and players alike have said publically that they are not very pleased having to play in europe because of the fatigue factor, and its impact on the begining of the teams regular NHL season) :hatsoff:

Well, look at it this way...

It's hockey. Someone is bound to get injured. It's inevitable.

And, if it does have to happen... Well, it should happen to a guy on your least favourite team.

In other news, Tampa beat the Rangers again last night. If they can keep this up, wow. They'll be contenders.

Next game is Berlin. Hope it's a good game.

I am not happy when anyones star player gets injured!

Know it's a little late, but what's everyone's opnion on Luongo being named captain of the Canucks?

I think it's great. He is by far the best palyer on the team and truely the only reason the Canucks can stay competative. I wish they would let him wear the C on his jersey, however. Who is it going to harm?

i've said Luongo should be captain of that team for the past 3 years. he carries them and leads them well. it's absolutely ridiculous that he can't wear the "C". if i were him, i'd have the art department paint a "C" on my mask.

My only beef is during the actual game, when he needs to talk to the guys in stripes and he most likely wouldn't have seen whatever problems come up. As far as leadership goes in the dressing room an other off-ice things, it's a great move!

Well then let the C be ceremonial, and have the assistant captains do all that. That's what they'll be doing, anyway...

Rangers beat the Lightning in Prague. Naslund looked pretty good.
