dammit we traded Nick Tarnasky to the Predators for a 5th or 6th round pick. that's bullshit.
Rangers beat the Euro champs 4-3, and Ottawa beat Goteberg 4-1.
They really should look into organizing games against the KHL. The Russians are probably the only league that can truely compete with the NHL.

The traveling would be a really serious issue!! unless the whole league had designated time period just like the olympic's?
it wouldn't be fair to teams that had to go closer to playoff time or whatever, but I would have to oppose it, due to the fact what if one of the russian teams made it to the finals??
I seriously doubt any of the NHL team owners would agree to the traveling issues involved to play russia, nor would the (russians) agree to play us on our side of the pond all the time!! I don't see how it could work?? not a bad thought as far as competitions sake, but I think all the issues above would pretty much void any reality of it happening! :hatsoff:
I wasn't suggesting that the KHL join the NHL...
I was suggesting that they play preseason games against each other, like they are doing with the Euro teams right now.
Well, look at it this way...
It's hockey. Someone is bound to get injured. It's inevitable.
And, if it does have to happen... Well, it should happen to a guy on your least favourite team.
In other news, Tampa beat the Rangers again last night. If they can keep this up, wow. They'll be contenders.
Next game is Berlin. Hope it's a good game.
Know it's a little late, but what's everyone's opnion on Luongo being named captain of the Canucks?
I think it's great. He is by far the best palyer on the team and truely the only reason the Canucks can stay competative. I wish they would let him wear the C on his jersey, however. Who is it going to harm?
i think it is so stupid and trivial that he cant wear the C

My only beef is during the actual game, when he needs to talk to the guys in stripes and he most likely wouldn't have seen whatever problems come up. As far as leadership goes in the dressing room an other off-ice things, it's a great move!
Well then let the C be ceremonial, and have the assistant captains do all that. That's what they'll be doing, anyway...
Rangers beat the Lightning in Prague. Naslund looked pretty good.
