If he is in the top three, who comes out?

I'd take Brady out. Eli beat him two times in the world's biggest game. Brady's still is amazing and he will always be a top 5 qb, but I think we're starting to see his slow decline from the greatest qb in the league... Age, it's a bitch

& Cutler goes down again... by Suh. You guys seriously need better protection. He jogged off the field though..... so.....

Yes the OL protection needs to be better for his sake, and this is no excuse, just absolute fact that at least one of those were because he slipped on the wet field. They even pointed it out in the replay. He's still a tough guy. He hurt a few ribs but he went back out and did the job.
That's true football, though. Playing through the elements. Not playing safely under a dome/retractable roof/heated field. I want to see a snow game this year, or some heavy fog.

Not really a signature performance by Cutler, but still an overall good win by the Bears...Defense was awesome ! Cutler still has a lot to do to prove he's elite...Flacco also thinks he's elite, but we see what he looked like without Ray Lewis having his back...IMO the Bears should win every game between now and Dec 16 when they play Green Bay again...

Aaron Rogers is the only premiere QB that Cutler will face the rest of the year...So I'm going to esp. judge his progress by how he does in the GB re-match, and, even more importantly, how he does in the playoffs, where the Bears should definatley be, looking at the rest of their schedule...

Brady --- 3/5 Superbowls
Eli M --- 2/2 Superbowls
-----------------------------
Drew Brees- 1/1
Peyton Manning -1/2
Aaron Rogers - 1/1

I actually think that they are pertty much interchangable after the first two. Tied for Superbowl wins, I rank the last three by personal statistical accomplishments...Drew Brees has had a record setting year breaking Johnny Unita's record for TD passes in consecutive games, so I put him third....But IMO you definately can't go wrong with any of these elite QB's.

You know Peyton is basically top 3 in every career statistic, right? And if Super Bowls are the measuring stick, where is Big Ben?

I think Drew Brees's accomplishment is certainly one of the most signifigant QB records set recently, also, Brees is physically on top of his game, while Peyton, although he does have a slightly higher career passing rating, is towards the tail-end of his career and recovering from a career threatening injury. So if we are talking about the best playing right now, as opposed to career wise in NFL History, I definately go Brees over Peyton.

Big Ben is certainly a proven winner, but I don't put him talent wise in the class with the most elite at his position. Granted he does have two Superbowls and a carceer QB rating of 92.5 as compared to Eli's 82.8, so the argument can certainly be made that he belongs somewhere in there. But being a Patioits fan and a Redskins fan, I've seen just how incredible Eli can be in the clutch, so even though I hate him with a passion, I have the greatest respect for him proffesionally.

Just a couple of thoughts.

1. Drew Brees' accomplishment is more of a junk stat than anything. If he missed getting a touchdown in one day during the streak he is having would it have mattered anymore than that one touchdown? He's a good quarterback, but he's good because he's helped score a crapton of points and passes the ball greatly while doing it a lot.

Out of all ways one can rate a quarterback (things go similar to this for pretty much any athlete), number of Superbowl wins has got to be among the worst. Number of championships should never be a serious metric by which individuals are judged in a team sport. It just leads to a bunch of ridiculous things and is a poor measure of skill.

Eli is now somewhere firmly in the top ten QBs in the league. If he's elite, he's barely in that category and has just reached it. He's not in the Rodgers/Brady/Brees or his older brother category yet, not even this year.

I would hardly call throwing a touchdown pass in every game spanning a 4 year period and breaking Johnny Unitas's half century old record, a "junk record" by any means...esp for a guy that most teams thought his career was over after San Diego. It's an amazing accomplishment that no other QB in our lifetime has, or will, ever approach .

Football is a team sport, QB is the leader of the team on the field...There is no better accomplishment for a QB than to lead a team to the Superbowl, and to play your best game of your career on that stage twice, win twice, and get the MVP TWICE...automatically makes him top three...hands down. I would put Brady in front of him ONLY because of the 3 rings, but truth be told, Eli owns Brady in the Post season.

One thing, though. I wish people would lay off on the usage of the word "elite". That word is so grossly overused these days when referring to QB's that it has lost its meaning.

"Elite" is when you are a Top 5 QB in the league based on whatever the accomplishments may be to make that list.

There is a pecking order in everything we do, in society.

Eli Manning has 2 Super Bowl wins and 2 Super Bowl MVP's in the last 5 years...

THAT qualifies as "elite'' and as we speak TODAY, Eli Manning is the BEST QB on the face of the planet...........TODAY!!

I'm so tired of that word... I literary hear that word 10 times a day just by listening to the radio and not even turning on espn. Every monday on the radio I hear "Is flacco elite, does that peformance he just had take away or add to it? We'll take your phone calls on his elite status" no he's fucking not elite just shut up. I'd go as far as saying elite is the top 3 quarterbacks in the league. But, even the top 5 is pretty clear. But, for some reason people constantly ask the question "Is... elite?" No he's not. To me elite is somebody who is at the top of his game at his position, brees is elite flacco is not. Rodgers is elite RG3 is not. Now, elite can change in a season but it's not going to magically change week to week

KC is a dumpster fire right now. lol

Kansas City at San Diego on thursday night football.. yay?

The chiefs just might as well start ricky stanzi, I've never seen him play but he already has the advantage of the kick ass last name 'stanzi'... put him in

At this point anyone is better than quinn and cassel, hell sign me I'll at least be able to hand the ball off to charles and fall on the ground when they tell me to pass. At least I won't turnover the ball constantly

Could you imagine it?
Dale: "and the chiefs have put ravendude in at qb",
Rick: "yeah dale, I think it's an interesting call, the guy has never even touched a football field"
Dale: "yeah rick, but he does play two hand touch football in his back yard every other month"
Rick: "well ravendude is back to pass, and he falls on the ground"
Dale: "rick, am I mistaken or did he just piss himself"
Rick:"yes he did dale, yes he did"
Dale:"well, here comes out the kicker for the field goal try"
Jessica the sideline reporter: "well, at least the... ummm line! oh okay, sorry, the chiefs will.... umm, kick the extra touchdown?"
Rick: "jesus christ, why the hell do we have these sideline reporters"

I don't know who the hell rick and dale are, but they're real douchebags
