New Congress to focus on the Constitution...

http://www.breitbart.tv/liberal-sta...ing-confusing-because-its-over-100-years-old/

Thoughts? Is it a gimmick? Or is turning back to the document that our entire system was founded on a good idea? Have we strayed too far from it's basic principles?

This clip invoked two emotions in my right off the bat...

1) I hope that this kid working for the Washington Post isn't indicative of the types of people running the media these days... he obviously doesn't understand a lot of things and should ask for a refund on his higher education.

2) I'm sad that Nora O'Donnell is married, I've had a crush on her for years :)

We haven't strayed far enough from the basic principles. We're a nation of 350mil+. The Founding Fathers would be revising it if they were around today.

Yeah...they were great at it during the Reagan Administration.

What about the Bill of Frights?

I think it's lip service really. Which can be sad because don't they take an oath to uphold the Constitution?

I think any incumbent elected official should read it and then write and post an essay on their .gov websites.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?

Yeah...gimmick. "focus on the Constitution"? Translation: Jiggering some loose interpretation to play politics for the next 2 years, foreseeable future or whichever comes first.

You really think they all of the sudden care about this 'piece of paper' now?

These people are politicians above all they say the words that people want to hear to keep their jobs! But I think we need to start going back to the Constitution as our forefathers
wrote it and not how special interest groups pervert it for their needs at any given moment!

that guy is an idiot.
its old so what?
real douche.

as far as reading it thats great.
nothing like paying all that money to these clowns to sit their and listen to a reading of the constitution......while half of them are dozing off and the other half is looking at their watches.
more bullshit thats all.

I wipe my ass with the constitution.

Andrew Breitbart should go away and die. He was caught at least twice producing heavily edit political videos and has been thoroughly discredited. First he posted the videos about ACORN which turned out to be false and misleading. Second, he posted the edited video of Shirley Sherrod at a NAACP meeting which left out the context of her remarks.

He is being sued by the subjects of both videos and will lose the court cases. For him to post a shorten video from MSNBC reveals him to be a true con artist.

As far as the constitution goes the video is right on. For some reason the Tea Party thinks it has the only true reading of the constitution. Think of Christine O'Donnell statement that the separation of church and state in not in the first amendment. How arrogant. After over two hundred years of court ruling she knows better.

It reminds me of strictly reading the text of the Bible for Gods TRUTH. At present there are over 30,000 denominations of Christianity, each with their own "correct" interpretation of the text.
