Im hoping Dwight Howard returns to the Lakers. Despite the low odds, but you never know. if not for Kobes injury id be okay seeing him go, but the lakers are at best a slightly better than 500 as they are, even worst with Kobe likely not being back until November or December. Steve Nash is as good as spent, the Gaudlocke/Morris project didnt yield winning results. They also need to get bench help badly, the most important part of the championship years was the bench play, they havent had a good bench in too long.

This thread really went nowhere. I almost made another thread because I couldn't find this one.

Any thoughts on the playoffs so far? Looking like another Spurs/Heat Finals. Not buying the Pacers game one win.

Funny how they were fitting rings for Miami all year long till this week. Not much Heat in them when the air conditioning goes out.

No three peat for Lebron and the Heat. The Spurs win 4 games to 1, 104-87.

Congratulations to the Spurs!

Tim Duncan, and Tony Parker get revenge for last year. :)

Miami waltzed through a very weak east. Show them a little defense and they don't show up. The Nets beat them 4 of 4 in the regular season. All 4 games the Heat were held to 100 or less points. All they had to do was show up for the playoffs but that road ended in the west. They couldn't score 100 points. The Spurs won their championship when they got through the west.

Carmelo Anthony opting out of 23 million for next year. I don't blame him. The Knicks are one fucked up organization. No draft picks. This coming season stuck with contracts with no room to bring anyone in to help. Sure the 2015-16 season loosens up money and many prime players will be on the market but all of them are ifs to sign in NY.

Lebron James back on the market now. Interesting how the players are lately getting power shifted in their direction. It's a nice strategy, Take less money if the team signs the players of choice.

NY Nets game delayed because of rain. They've got garbage cans on the court collecting water. Barclays Center is 2 years old costing $1 billion. It isn't even raining that hard here in NJ. I'm listening to the game now on radio and this is fucking hilarious.

Rondo traded to the Mavericks.
Really kind of wondering why the Lakers seemed to make zero effort to get this guy, unless 1) Kobe's ego prevented any such deal, 2) They're purposely tanking, or 3) both

With the Knicks woes look out for Tim Hardaway as the 2nd fiddle to Carmelo Anthonty.

Bulls were in a dog fight tonight vs them without Rose but no Anthony or JR Smith for the Knicks.

Phil Jackson has a big task on his hands rebuilding this franchise.

The Knicks are one stupid lazy team. How hard can it be to learn the triangle offence? It's pre determined moves with passing. They never follow it throughout an entire game. Eventually it becomes get the ball to Mello and the league knows it. And how about a little defense once in a while?

Jackson's Lakers frequently had the same issues. Just swap Kobe for Mello in what you wrote above.

For a long time now I've thought Jackson is somewhat over-rated as a coach.
Yeah it's hard to argue with 11 rings; but I'm really not. I give him his due, but still think he is somewhat over-rated.
Started to feel that way after the 2004 season and felt more confirmation of it after the 2007 and 2010 seasons.

That's like how people think Joe Torre walks on water too.

NY Knick fans have to be the most gullible in sports. It doesn't matter who they put on the hardwood, Knick tickets have been the most premium in all of sports for decades. I shouldn't really say fans. The awe for tourists and being seen at Knick games is the fraud being perpetrated by MSG. And they continue to with their same formula. Phil Jackson being the Messiah. I know he's only been there 6 months but I'm not buying into their history of smoke and mirrors.

Almost half way and look who are the top 4 in the East and West: East: Raptors, Hawks, and Wizards, and Bulls, West: Warriors, Blazers, Grizzlies. and Rockets.

Irving and Love in Cleveland will blend in with leBron and when the Bulls finally play 100% strength will lead minus 2 from that list by playoffs time. Thunder or Spurs might make one or two gone from the west. Rockets made themselves better trading for Corey Brewer and signing lack of effort Piston cut Josh Smith back home.

Going be a great second half.
