NBA '09/'10 Season Thread

good for the suns i like them but they never seemed to have the it factor .
this year they are actaully playing some defense while still having a stacked offense
should make for a good series vs the lakers

Impressive road win against one of the best home teams in the league, although Artest almost threw it away. Literally.

Was it Artest's fault? Fisher got taken down - it looked like a wrestling hold :1orglaugh I know Derek's a good actor but in this case it didn't look like an act.

Boston ties it up with Cleveland at 2-2. Rondo had one of the best performances in Celtic history. Anybody see his stat line? 29 points. 18 rebounds. 13 assists. 2 steals. Is he the best PG in the NBA?

Not for my money. I'd rather have Williams or Paul. But Rondo did have a spectacular game, no question.

Yes he is and he is doing a damn fine job leading the Celtics they were talking on Sportscenter should James guard Rondo. We all see Williams can't but I think that would hurt the Cavs in the long run and if the Celtics beat the Cavs I think James will be moving on.

Suns sweep the Spurs. I wonder if this playoff run will help them persuade Amare to stay in Phoenix???

It did not hurt in the postgame interview he was glad to get that monkey off his back.I really think the Suns need him.:dunno:

That's tough to say. Those guys are money, but I like Rondo better defensively. One on one and team. He's also a better rebounder. I think Rondo has a better chance of averaging a triple double than Lebron does. (Although neither of them will)

Speaking of rebounding, how the fuck did a 6'1", 170lbs guard grab 18 boards against Cleveland? :1orglaugh

Orlando completes the sweep in Atlanta. No surprise there. Now the Magic will rest up and wait for Boston hopefully :D

L.A is up 80-67 on Utah right now at the beginning of the 4th. They need to finish this tonight and get ready for Phoenix.

It's looking like another L.A - Orlando Finals again.

Well, by playoff performances, yes, Rondo is the best PG in the league. He has a total game. I don't think he shoots 3s that great, but that's about it. Jameer Nelson is my #2 PG right now. He is the Maestro of the Magic Machine. The Magic are a Weapon of Mass Destruction and will maul the Cavs or the Celtics in the next round. I'm not sure the Lakers can hang with Orlando either

No, it won't. The reality is is that this is Steve Nash's last hurrah. Amare won't want to tie his future to a Nash-less Suns. He'll head off to Chicago or Miami, my guess.

Shame on me for believing the Hawks would give Orlando a scare. Fair or unfair, I'd be surprised if Mike Woodson was their coach this time next week.

Btw Jameer Nelson, Rajon Rondo, and Pau Gasol are ballin. And Dwight Howard is more transcending and dominant on defense than Kobe or LeBron are on offense.

i will have to search back in this thread again but i called it before playoffs it would be an orlando lakers final and thats what it looks like cus these teams are playing hungry

Wow. Lebrian is stinkin' up the joint tonight. The Celtics kicked the shit outta the Lebrons tonight

I think we will be saying adios to the Lebrons soon...:wave2: and to Lebrian in Cleveland :thefinger

It's easier for him PR wise to leave Cleveland if they lose out..then he came blame the coaches, the supporting cast, the fanz :thefinger and head off to Broadway...

Simple Question:

Is LeBron a choke job?

He threw up enough bricks to cobble every street in Cleveland. He launched so many bricks that the Greeks have named him LeBrickus -- God of Construction.

"You just got their asses wahipped...by a bunch of goddamn nerds!"

I gotta agree with you. Magic are hot hot hot and the Lakers should (and will) easily take care of the Suns. Sweeps by the Magic might not make them physically prepared to hustle and grind it out, so Lakers will have the edge

i just cant wait to see what lebrons excuse is for playing so bad he cant say it was his elbow cus he tore it up in there win last time so now what is it

Could this be Lebron throwing the series to get out of Cleveland???

Yes. I'm not talking shit about LeBron. I really think he thinks it will be easier for him to get outta Cleveland if they lose rather than if they win the title. Then, how the hell could he leave with a ring? Wouldn't he get crucified as a phony?

I've never seen him play as poor as he did last night. I think DWade and Kobe are better players, but LeBron is still a stud. He was horrible, and it made me wonder if he realized, "Shit, if we win a ring, how am I going to leave this town for New York?"

I bet he will get a Triple Double in Boston, but the Celtics will win Game 6 so LeBron gets the best of everything--the media can frame it as "well, LeBron did his job, the supporting cast stunk it up...Mike Brown is incompetent..." blah blah blah...

Eh, I'm really not buying this one, TR. A player, even The King , only has a finite number of opportunities to win a championship ring. You've got to take advantage when the opportunity presents. If he goes to say, The Knicks, it could take two or three years before the rest of the pieces there are put together enough for them to potentially win a title. On top of that, there's always the possibility of injury.
So no, I don't see any conspiracy, I think he just had a dogshit game. The whole team looked flat, unmotivated & a bit stunned, like maybe they didn't expect the aging Celtics to make them work so hard.

Joe Johnson is already hinting at going to Miami.

Honestly, he'll go to whoever offers him the most money. If he wanted a ring he'd have stayed in Phoenix.

^
The Suns got rid of him right? They traded him for Jason Richardson, I think?

Bodie--I don't think it will take that long for the Knicks to turn it around. They have an unlimited warchest.

The Knicks featuring--LeBron, Tony Parker, Chris Bosh and Dirk Nowitski....this might be what the Knicks have in mind.
