Yeah, it's slim pickins around here too. Cost is going up and I see it as a panic buying. This falls into the classic supply and demand thing. And leaves people who truly enjoy the sport, not being able to. A lot of people, fired by propoganda by the NRA (Yes I am a member) believe that the feds are going to roll down the street tomorrow and take your guns.
Holy crap man, do you know the hornets nest that would stir. You could be looking at a civil uprising against a move like that, and we're already armed. So that's not going to happen. So chill out.

But what's really going to happen is, they will begin pass some minor, innocuous legislation. A law here, an amendment to current law there, and it will put them in a place to do what they need to do. That"s why vigilance, and not allowing them to get away with these things is so very important in today's political climate. They will try to do things that make it impossible for manufacturers to do business, or produce product that is even remotely affordable...like micro stamping. The shortage of ammo is another thing...there is no reason for it, it's like the gas prices, we're being gouged, and it's fucked up. Especially when the people are the ones fighting for the manufacturers well being.

If you want to keep your rights, you MUST be aware of every a attempt made by our politicians, no matter how small, or seemingly unimportant, to pass legislation, or change current law, and write to, or e-mail them with your dissatisfaction, and disapproval of their actions, and intentions, and express your concerns. You must also make absolutely sure, they understand you will not support them in the future, if they attempt to infringe upon your rights...and you MUST do it in a respectful, and appropriate way. Any implied threats, or foul language will just give them a reason to label you a threat, thus costing you your rights.

Obama is smart enough not to go after guns directly (unlike a lot of dems). But he will go after the ammunition for them. And that is what will eventually lead to more gun legislation and restriction. Right now, the NRA donates too much money to politicians on both sides of the issue (esp the ones wanting more control) that they don't want to do anything that might cost them that cash when it comes election time.

Could it already be in progress ? G'damn ! just 3 - 4 years ago you could get a "box of ball" e.g. .45ACP 230 FMJ for $11 - $12 bucks. Today, well, see for yourself if it is available.

It is already in progress, but not on the scale gun activists want. The shortage of ammunition now is a result of Obama and the dems being voted into office and the knowledge that soon enough, they will be coming after all firearms and anything related to them. The price has increased because of extra taxes on the ammo, but also b/c sellers are trying to make all the money on them while they can.

I've got my "munitions shelter". The gov't can gladly have all of my guns and ammo, only they have to take them bullets 1st.

Extremely well done ! I agree completely.

Also, if I may add that our politicians are entangling "u.s." in this vast network of internationalism. Could you imagine what could ensue with these international treaties making headway ? And the whole idea that any such resistance of this current presidents policies will be interpreted as a form of "TERRORISM" is a revelation, in my mind, that the regular, every day law abiding general populous has something very serious ahead to contend with

Finally, this administration is creating an atmosphere that reveals firearms in general to be less and less socially acceptable, by the day. creepy !

Absolutely! If you show any loyalty to the Libertarian party, or Ron Paul, or you are an advocate for the Constitution, especially the 2nd Amendment, they label you a "domestic terrorist", and put you on a list. Then, when you go to buy a gun through legal channels, it throws up red flags and sets off alerts at every agency. But when you walk out with the gun, because there's "nothing they could do", it gets the gun grabbers screaming. "see, see...someone that shouldn't have gotten a gun did...LOOP HOLES! LOOP HOLES!!!" No one wants the United States disarmed more, then the United Nations. Any treaty that gives any power to any outside governing body, or usurps the Constitution in any way, is unacceptable. That's how they'll get the guns. Under the Patriot Act, they will label anyone they please, as "domestic terrorists", and kick in their door, and take their guns, and you mark my words, the only thing that will stop them, is the people themselves. The worst part is, people claim, people like myself, are paranoid, or disillusioned, or we over react...then little by little, things happen, then it's to late, and all of a sudden people realize that all of those little things they let slide, added up to one really big thing, and my rights have to suffer, for their complacency, and laziness.

Right. Watch out for a "registration" bills. That would put it in place. I am certain bills of that nature have floated around Washington for years.

Yes, ammo is the ticket. Like said (was it years ago already?) you can build a gun by yourself with enough fortitude, but the ammo is a must. Shit, I'm just going to stock up on caliber's I don't even need for the rainy day when the SHTF and WalMarts, Kmarts and the like all close and Martial Law is in effect. ;)

Ammo is out fu#@in' outrageously priced. It has effectively tripled in price over the last six years. Here I noticed that a regular box of 45 ACP 230 grain ball costs more than $30 at some indoor ranges.

Primers are really nearly impossible to find. There is some kind of conspiracy holding them up as it's been a fuggin year since anybody has had them in stock.

Yeah, I walked up to a counter and the first thing out of the guys mouth was, we have primers. That wasn't even what I was there for. LOL

If the Motley Crue song was called Guns, Guns, Guns instread of Girls, Girls, Girls, I wonder what the music video would look like?

Bunch of coked up guys stroking their guns riding motorcycles I guess :dunno:

Glock, Glock Glock !! ''Business Week'' profiles the successful firearm and company whose trigger I cannot master :hammer:

FWIW

Because a Glock is the easiest gun for someone to LEARN on...that's why about 75% of police forces use them. You've already learned, that's why you're having a hard time, you have a style, and method that works with every other gun...just not a Glock. I personally, wouldn't want one...I'm not into the whole plastic thing. If I could get over it, Sig sells a set up with 3 slides, 3 barrels, 3 magazines and 1 polymer frame, all in a nice tidy set-up...but I can't deal with plastic guns, and I don't like double action only.

The Sig P250? My uncle (a former Fed) is getting that pistol system. AFAIK, he's looking at .40 and .45 in full size and possibly compact. When active, he carried a S&W .357 and an H&K P9 early on, then he went to a Beretta 92/9mm for capacity reasons and then to a Glock 22/.40 cal til he retired - the Glock was his favorite. I got my Glock 22 after I shot his (nearly 20 years ago). Everyone has their personal preferences, for reasons of style, feel or whatever. But I've had three Glocks over the past 18 years or so, and I've never had a problem with any of them. I even bought a Glock 19 for my mother.

But based on what I've read so far, I do like that new Sig Sauer P250 system - and Uncle Rey C. is a bigger gun nut that I am, so I've always trusted his opinion. After Unc gets his and I get to fire it a few times, it's likely that I'll get one too. Getting used to a pistol's feel and then being able to go to other calibers, without losing that feel, is incredibly helpful to any shooter.

Sigs are fantastic guns. I disagree slightly about Glock, the reason so many people use them for close encounters is the reliability. I know quite a few SF guys who would take nothing else as a sidearm into a fight but a Glock only for that reason...

That might be, but the fact remains, a Glock is the easiest teaching tool, for a newbie shooter...and the hardest for an experienced one. The reason is the trigger...and my info comes from a master gunsmith, and owner of several Glocks, all of which he swears by...as do all Glock owners/fans...I'm just not one. I'm a Sig man, I swear by 'em, I carry one, I trust it above ANY OTHER weapon I own. But...to each his own. I know a guy that will have nothing to do with any handgun, that's not a revolver.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I am warming up to the glocks, I shot my brothers 22 saturday afternoon, I haven't really ever liked glocks because the only safety is that little resistance lever on the trigger (which I dislike greatly) :uohs:

I just don't trust those things with 1 in the chamber as a carry weapon, just seems to EASY to blow your leg off or have it discharge from where you have it holstered, but I am getting used to the trigger pull and the ease of squeezing off 15 quick shots. :D

I am starting to consider buying a used 22 or whatever the full size glock in .45 whichever model # that one would be?

My other brother has all three 40 cal. glocks, the sub-compact 27 (which he uses as his carry weapon), he's got the full size 22 & the compact?

Errrr. that fucker just bought a bushmaster AR-15 today. I am going to see it tomorrow. I won't be able to shoot it cuz he's busy all day, but just going to look @ it, I can't wait to shoot that Bad MF'er. :D :2 cents:
