i think "money laundry" is just an excuse for feds, the main reason is they are trying to take those guys down really bad...
with the internet, businesses and their models are changing every day, for example music stars, their songs have been downloaded illegally millions of times and they became very very famous, thats why they get paid millions for their concerts, probably they are not making money from cd sales but from concerts and commercials...
im not saying, piracy should be allowed but this is just a part of government actions have been started, and supa will follow...

Yeah I understand that, and web-cam does bring a nice extra income. An fan & trade shows I make a whole lot more selling my DVD's and doing photos with fans, etc. But I won't ****** so that revenue channel is not there for me. So there is other income channels, But My majority comes from copyable material, funny I just had a company tell me they could press my material to a copy protected Blu-Ray. But lets just say when a 19 year old takes there copy protected Demo blu-ray and by-passes the copy protection in like 30 minutes, it just not so impressive.

There's still quite a few sites that do the same thing that Megaupload does,so until they are all gone,they still won't see any real difference in how many people pay for the privilege of their site's content.

I would speculate further to say that they probably won't see any more money from their sites even if all the file-sharing sites were gone. I suspect people who engage in file-sharing would rather not have the content at all then have to pay for what they steal.

Does anybody think one of the biggest problems is that people are trying to push an old business model that just doesn't work anymore with today's world? While piracy might not be that good the only real solutions to it that has a remote chance of controlling it are going to be very extremely repressive and draconian. That's not acceptable from a moral or ethical standpoint so the only alternative is to optimize the business models for the world we live in now where information can be sent and received as easily as it does. If porn was smart it would have tried to get a lot more acceptance in mainstream things so it could bring in money based of off advertising or maybe where it could be sold in more physical places regular people visit more often, but porn is rarely smart or has foresight.

From a realistic standpoint, even if a lot of the producers and rights holders of copyrighted work don't like to admit it, is that the majority of what is pirated for most things would never have been bought in the first place even if things were different. The money lost to it is almost always exaggerated.

Not that I'm condoning piracy because I'm not and it's often not a good thing (And on the other end, to be fair, I also think the whole copyright system we have today is becoming archaic, obsolete, and often doesn't make sense or is fair for the world we live in and gives too much power to corporations.), but there is no effective solution for it that won't make the world an even worse place and hurt people too much, or won't be open to major ***** by people in power someday.

Well I guess Freeones and all the porn sites on the internet should just close down, maybe all the internic names servers should be shut down and we go back to print only, and just stop the electronic age. Because people no longer have any basic decency and respect.

If no one can be responsible for there own actions then I guess the governments should have all the control to close down and censor whatever they want. Basically thinking like that supports the need for SOPA an the removal of civil liberties. IDK just saying.

I don't see it as stealing.
For one thing I do not physically do not have a copy of anything I have downloaded and many of those are gone. Also, I have bought many things I have seen on those sites and those sites have directed me to sites.
So, that's a good thing.

That's why the statistics are false. Many people would never buy those things.

I honestly can't recall the last time I paid for porn, and it's not because I steal it, there's just so much free content readily available that there's really no reason to pay for it. Take the babe sections here on FreeOnes. Go to advanced search, select "pornstar" as profession, and there are literally 10327 Search Results. There's more legitimate free samples than anyone could look at. And that's not counting other legitimate sites that offer free content. I'm not trying to sandbag your industry but it's not the easiest business model to make a profit from. SOPA and PIPA isn't going to change that.

That's why the statistics are false. Many people would never buy those things.

They obviously want the content otherwise they would not bother to download it at all. I would speculate that if there were no sharing sites, then people would indeed pay to see the content. Granted, that not all of those that downloaded free content would purchase it, but even if just 10% did, that would still add up to a lot of money, so they ARE losing money, just not as much as the pure statistics say when then assume that 100% of the downloads would have been paid for.

I agree. The power and accessibility of computers and the internet today is a recent phenomena and the "ways of old" (including business models and laws) have yet to adapt fully.

You either pay for stuff or get it from the owner for free, as in platforms like FreeOnes and all its affiliates, or you are a thief.

There seems to be alot of people in this thread trying to justify breaking the law. If you are distributing content or material and you do not have permission from the owner of that content or material then you are breaking the law, it's as simple as that.
And before you all jump on me and say that Megaupload & sites like them can't be held responsible for what is uploaded to their servers, I say that's aload of BULLSHIT!!! They are their servers so that should fucking well get off their asses & filter it!!

They were aware that they were holding STOLEN (and yes it is stolen) copyrighted material on their servers and allowing it's distribution, and earning money off it's distribution but did nothing to stop it. And as Andy (Caring259) said earlier in the thread, they just ignored DMCA notices that were sent to them, I know because they done it to me!!!!

It's time these sort of companies took more responsibility for the data they hold and stop turning a blind eye to it. It's actually a part of SOPA that I agree with, that they would be responsible & could face closure if they didn't monitor it & act on it.

And for the people that think this law breaking is perfectly fine & should be allowed to go on, the next time you get mugged & someone steals your wallet & you lose out on whatever cash you had in there, think of me and models like me, caus this is how we feel every day that these bastards are allowed to get away with what they're doing.
