And players actually giving 100% on each and every play and playing with passion and emotion. Yes Randy Moss should read this!

^^^ Amen.

College is much better than the Pros.

I like both. The atmosphere of a collage rivalry game is unmatched. On the other hand, the level of play in a meaningful pro game is quite often absolutely amazing.

College football is fine. Let the kids have their fun.

But keep in mind...there's thousands of colleges. So basically...everyone gets to play if they want.

When you're ready to get serious...it's the NFL.

Really a tie? College is nothing right now. Just because a computer say that one team is better than the other one team is the National Champion. In the NFL when the Super Bowl is over there is a clear winner and Champion.

I prefer college... it just seems more "pure" and has more passion than a bunch of men who get paid ridiculous amounts of money to ply the game whether they win or lose.

None ... Soccer is the real football.

Lost at Birth
i remember in a marketing we studied target markets of sports. college ball and pro ball commercials was compared and just because its the same sport doesnt mean its the same audience

this was around 6 years ago so things may have changed since then but anyway

Pro Football TV commericials: most were beer and truck commercials.
College Football TV commercials: most were financial/insurance and home improvement commercials.

of course i don't know how kosher it is to show beer commercials for college ball

i like college but now that Patrick Willis is making the 49'rs fun to watch again, i may start watching more pro. Chuck Norris wears Patrick Willis pajamas.

:hatsoff:

Let's celebrate the cultural gap! Soccer is popular in Europe because it is an egalitarian game on the verge of socialism. Imagine: Every player on the team is equally important!

Americans prefer to rally around a quarterback, a leader that guides them, a demigod. :spump:

The NCAA game has gotten too politicized, and too often makes a mockery of the sport for me put it over the NFL no matter what positive aspects it might have, like fan atmosphere. College sports haven not only hurt the sports they played and the players practically forced to go that route if they want success in the sport, but they have taken our higher education system and hurt that along with it. Nobody with half a brain things thinks it's about education anymore or that it's just a simple armature endeavor that some college kids picked up for friendly competition. Not even the NFL runs football as much as a business and not a sport as much as college football does, and the NFL doesn't even pretend it's something else.

The fact the quality of players is far lower than the NFL really doesn't help either. I just can't get it out of my mind in a lot of the games that it looks like a bunch of midgets moving in slow motion for most of the players. Having a sport where they vote for the championship instead of settling it on the field is also a extremely huge negative.

I agree with you. Especially the quarterbacks. They seem to wimp down once they're in the NFL.

I don't think they "wimp down." its alot tougher when the ENTIRE opposing team is fast, huge and good or great, not just one or two players.

I never have been into college football. I don't like seeing teh option run 3 out of every 4 plays, etc.

IMO the pro game is much better

The anti-NFL complaints I have: the sport has been micromanaged down to the point that it is hardly a sport anymore, and it is nothing but a game of trying to exploit a mismatch. Teams will sign or draft a player to only do 1 thing. 90% of DLinemen are either "run specialists" (if they are incredibly fat and slow) or "pass specialists" (if they are tall and muscular). No longer does a DLineman excel in both. WRs--are "possesion WRs" if they are short and slow or "deep threats" if they are fast. RBs are "inside runners" if they are big and strong and slow, or "outside threats" if they are short and fast.

The game flow of the NFL is nonexistent because of time outs, challenges and too many stupid, ticky-tack rules.

It is almost too boring to sit through an entire NFL game. Unless it's teams I generally care about--I usually pay attention to the 1st and 4th qtrs only.

I wish ESPN would go back to the Berman/Jackson "Blitz" show where they would supply the highlights for every game in 1 hour....then I wouldn't need to watch any NFL ever!
