The Romans crucified a lot of folks, including christians (ex : After defeating Spartacus, 6,000 of his fellow rebel slaves were crucified along the Via Appia). But crucifiction wasn't the most comonly used way to execute christians. Some were crucified, some were burned at stake, some were decapitateds, some were fed to the lions, etc...

Hell, if Mexico was in any position at all to pay for any of this fiasco, there would have been illegal immigration going the other way starting in 2008. In Israel, the difference was night and day. In the first years immediately after the wall went up, suicide bombings went down 90%.
