"Awkward" Question for Miss California at Miss USA Padgeant LOL

You don't see the difference between cutting your hair and cutting your body open to put implants inside of it?

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body."

So plastic surgery of any kind is against God? ooookay.

What's even more sad is I bet a lot of people that really believe that are probably fat and sit on the couch all day to.

Why do they even bother asking questions? I mean really, do these chicks even make a difference in life?

Do we really give a fuck what they think?

No. The whole controversy is silly. It's like getting worked up over the results of a "professional" wrestling match or something. Okay, good for her that she spoke her mind and all, but to see her being denied the title as anything like an injustice (esp. when the event organizers actually paid for her to get a boob job!) is ridiculous. Mostly it looks like the contrived controversy is just to provide a platform to haters of gays. If it was only about hating on Perez Hilton as a disgusting peddler of sleazy and pointless Hollywood gossip, well then, I'd sign up.

I wish she would have leaned forward and given that twat, Perez Hilton a smack on the nose with a rolled up newspaper. Her views are her own and the fact that she didn't shy from the question speaks volumes about her character. I don't mind homos getting equal treatment when it comes to getting the same kind of benefits but it doesn't mean I have to accept their choice of lifestyle or the sanctioning of their union.
She is a beautiful girl, though.

A newspaper at a beauty pageant?? :1orglaugh
Fat chance of seeing THAT!

Personally, I criticize her because of her rationale (or lack thereof). Saying she doesn't believe in gay marriage is fine, but the rationale of "that's how I was raised" is hogwash. It's tantamount to saying saying "I can steal because everyone does it".

As much as these pageants are meaningless in the long run, her title carries enough prestige in this day and age to merit formulating a simple sound argument for her position. Matter of fact, as an adult she has the responsibility to do so. Instead, she's giving an opinion and then basically saying, "don't hold me accountable for it, or criticize me for it, I just learned it from my parents!". It's a simple diffusion of accountability that I find makes her opinion stupid.

Agreed.

Good points. It is defnitely odd (do they have some sort of subtle agenda going on here), that they would have homo men telling real men what a women should or should not be? I think a hetro male is 100x more qualified to make such examinations. :hatsoff:

Haha. So, one is only qualified to say "what a women [sic] should or should not be" if they're generally attracted to that sex? Well then, how about lesbians, too? That'd be great, eh? ;)
Anyway, the whole thing is ludicrous. It's just shallow b.s. - really no more sophisticated or worthwhile than one of the "Who'd you rather fuck?" polls here at FO - masquerading as something significant. It isn't.

Strange that there are so many homosexuals and women working in the fashion industry. :dunno:

If gays and women cant judge beauty then it seems strange that the majority of the clothes being made for them are being made by those two groups.

Excellent point.

Yeah, I guess. But I'm willing to guess miss Hilton doesn't spend nearly as much time "admiring" women (which I doubt he could even begin to conceive of with regard to women), as he does with males. It's all just stupid. But as most have noticed, the g'damn padgeant is a farce anyway.

Damn, crack a dictionary once in a while if you don't know how to spell a word. (Must be the 3rd or 4th time you've written it that way here) It's p-a-g-e-a-n-t. The letter d is not involved.

I don't see it. If any alteration to your body at all was against God's plan then religious people would never be able to cut their hair or clip their finger nails and women couldn't wear makeup. I see doing that to yourself as a pretty different thing than one's belief on gay marriage.

If she's talking about what's natural, and what's God's plan for people, then really she should explain how her breast enlargement was part of God's plan, or why her diversion from God's plan is acceptable. (Yeah, as the other person quoted from the Bible, the idea is generally that the body is a temple; presumably not to be stuffed full of saline or silicone for the purpose of vanity or feeding one's ego) Breast surgery is a major procedure, much more significant than make-up, clipping nails, getting piercings, haircuts (?), etc. A boobjob is a MAJOR alteration of a woman's appearance. Further, there are plenty of practical reasons for haircuts, cutting one's nails, etc. Cutting the nails or cutting one's hair is not a fundamental, (more or less) permanent change, as the boobjob is. Make-up can be washed off at any time.

time for a fun pic to lighten the mood.

Yeah, that about sums up the depth of the right-wing mindset at work on this.

Sorry, I just don't see it. If one has already stated the body is some sort of very special thing in it's natural physical form their own personal religious perspective and then goes back on it then that argument might have some merit. However, just making the leap that God's plan doesn’t allow altering of the body in any way, and assuming all religious people believe that is going too far. I could just as easily say that putting makeup on is not part of God's plan and women that claim to be religious explain it. Even with one thing more permanent I don't see any real difference. I could also try to make the claim that if it was really in God's plan we wouldn't even have a need to cut our hair in the first place. I would say that even the vast majority of religious people in this country don't see cosmetic surgery in any real religious perspective and trying to artificially make it one and having people explain when they have it from a that perspective doesn't make sense.

People also weren't designed to fly, run fast, or swim very well. Yet we have airplanes, cars, and boats. Maybe if God gave people the intelligence to come up with those things for themselves then it can be argued to be part of his plan. (Not that I necessarily think that's true. Unless one is God, they can't really say for certain what his "plan" is, so I'm not going pretend I know it absolutely either.) Saying cosmetic surgery is against his plan is pretty arbitrary.

This discussion is getting way to heavy for a comment by a young lady ( being generous with that description lol) who is the representative for California in the Ms USA pagent as part of the Ms Universe Donald Trump farce.

Does anyone of any intelligence give a rats ass what she thinks eithier way on any important issue of the day?:dunno::1orglaugh

Well, maybe we don't really disagree so much here. Anyone who thinks they actually know what God's plan is is probably spouting b.s. from the word "go" anyway. I know I'm always at a loss as to have a conversation with someone who really thinks they know such stuff....

Get lost. Get hit by a car for all I care. Call me on some bullshit like that? Get back to your ATM. :thefinger

Personally, no, but the sad part is, there exists a large portion of the population who buy into this sort of stuff. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Like Matt Damon, Perez Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Shaun Penn...an opinion from a celebrity is worth exactly the same as any other.
People use whatever they can find to amuse themselves...coke snorting over-paid disconnected from the real world celebs are useless for the most part, except to play roles we watch for fantasy entertainment.
This case is a bit different...her answer was respectful, and as valid as any other persons take on gay marriage; she was attacked from all sides and did a good job of responding. It's not the value of the contest, it's the person being assaulted by media and talking heads.
Prejean is no "dummy", and she wasn't deserving of the vilification she received from all the agenda driven snipers.
Hey, and she's absolutely fucking gorgeous!

Do you maybe think she was approached by "The Don's" people to answer that way? What are the *odds* that the Miss California contestant would answer in a way that just neatly slides into the *controversy*.

Isn't it likely that The Don saw an opportunity for his pageant to take over the news cycle?

I think the grander story in all of this is who took naked photos of her, for profit, while she was underage? Even if it was for some surfer rag who is this able to slide past the law? Why isn't this photographer (male or female) asked to answer for those photos?

You and your conspiracies! :1orglaugh :)

I applaud Carrie Prejean for standing up for her beliefs and not caving in to answer this question in a politically correct way.

And it shows the hatred, bigotry, and intolerance from the other side when you don't agree with them and give an honest opinion as Ms. Prejean did.

I agree with respect to the question being a set up and it was a question so theorectically her right to give an either/or answer should have made whatever answer she gave acceptable.

The one rule courtroom lawyers go by is, don't ask a question to which you don't already know the answer. In this case, I would say don't ask a question to which you may get an answer you don't like.

Having said that, she didn't really acquit herself well by how she answered. I understand she was caught in a set up and was being put on the spot...but the whole "in my country" stumble sounded pretty bad.

Political Correctness is a worse attack on the freedoms we have in America than anything I can think of short of putting us all in work camps.

I may not agree with her reasoning, but I applaud her having more balls than most men in our society these days.

And she's fuckin hawt to boot.

:1orglaugh

With each new development she burns more of her self-avowed integrity.
And that has nothing to do with how she answered the question.

She's a calculating, advantage taking, hypocritcal liar.
A professional victim.

Another embarrassment to the religious right.

Next stop: Either a fat offer to pose for Playboy or a job as an on air personality for Fox News.

Well, it looks like little Miss California has a gigantic ego or a weak backbone and isn't able to back up the checks her big mouth wrote?

Miss California got canned today--Oops

I guess she's free to pursue the porn career she clearly desires...:glugglug:

Does her firing leave Donald Trump with egg on his face?

Agreed. Now hopefully she'll fade into the sunset.
