*2024 US Presidential Elections* - Candidates, Statistics, Campaign Timelines, Debates

Yahoo rejected my comment???? Why...because I called Vance a pig rolling in the mud, and Donald Duck a paper cut survivor?? Well, that's simply a violation of whatever Amendment it is that protects our rights to free speech!! Vance's wife is kinda hot though. :tits:
Yahoo uses AI to do their censoring. Don't take it personal, they gig some of the most benign comments. I once had a post that literally just said "Thank You", as a response to another's comment, and they rejected it.

Biden Drops Out of Presidential Race, Endorses Harris

President Biden wrote on social media that he was ending his campaign for re-election after intense pressure from within his own party. He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him atop the Democratic ticket.
President Biden, 81, abandoned his bid for re-election and threw the 2024 presidential contest into chaos on Sunday, caving to relentless pressure from his closest allies to drop out of the race amid deep concerns that he is too old and frail to defeat former President Donald J. Trump. After calling Vice President Kamala Harris an “extraordinary partner,” he endorsed her to take his place atop the ticket.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president,” he wrote on social media. “And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus entirely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.”...

I believe many of us are not too surprised. And, compared too many of other comparable democracies, t is still a lot of good time left.

Fingers crossed for Vice President Harris!

Donald Trump is now the oldest nominee for President in US history. Old people make me uncomfortable so I will not be voting for him.
They didn't get old by not knowing how to survive.....

Turning your head at the right split second helped.

Donald Trump is now the oldest nominee for President in US history. Old people make me uncomfortable so I will not be voting for him.
That is the right attitude. I personally was going to vote for the oldest candidate ever due to his experience, but now I'll be checking out the younger one. That old guy still running should think twice. Maybe he should drop out now? Will Trump's team dust off Reagan's debate quote against Mondale: "I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience,"

The funniest thing now is the conniption the Republicans are having over Biden dropping out. They were licking their chops over Joe's dilemma and now they are raging against him for dropping out.
  • Boobies from SC wants the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment. Somehow not running for a second term disqualifies him from finishing his first term?
  • Speaker Johnson thinks another Democrat candidate would be illegal.
Waiting until after the RNC made sense. They focused on Biden during their four days of free advertising and now it was all for naught. The new candidate was spared the vitriol. Now the DNC can focus on Don's age, his lying, his criminal record, and his presidential record. Joe's age and cognitive abilities are now irrelevant on the campaign trail.

Let the fun begin anew. "Believe me yeah. It's a new dawn."

Less than four months to go before the November election. The man was a rookie the first time at bat. As much as I dislike him, I say give him a second chance. He looked at our adversaries different than what has been the policy in the past with isolation. The Bible in revelation reveals four men will rule the Earth one day. He could be one of them.

They of course have to attack him no matter what he did, but the irony is that him staying on would have been a godsend for the GOP. I would have thought the best move for them would have been for them to lay off the pressure on joe and make him stay on. But restraint isn't exactly their strong suit

Simple rookie mistake …

… give him chance to be successful next time?

How is this about age, when one party has delivered so much for its citizens and global partners, whereas the other is the cult of a lifelong crook, with the clear plan to turn the USA into a fascist fourth reich?
It is not about age per se, but the impact of aging on the human condition. I would have voted for Biden regardless of his situation so I am not the target audience. The media turned quite negative against Biden after the debate and he was unable to turn the narrative around. Almost any gaffe or stumble (which he was prone to do in the best of circumstances) was reported as monumental. It distracted from the real threat which is Trump’s propensity to lie - including his denial of Project2025 which will be the blueprint for the second term.

Instead of Biden’s age, the conversation can be focused on the issues at hand. As a bonus, we can talk about Trump’s age! His cognitive decline is just around the corner.

😭 Trump wants reimbursed for the money spent on bashing Biden. Whoops.

Are we allowed to post memes here? Because I saw a doozie this morning on my community bulletin board. It had Donald Trump farting, and Vance is next to him, bent over, sniffing it. And there's this thought balloon coming from Vance and it's got a rose in it, and Vance has this pleasant smile on his face like he's getting a hummer from Lauren Boebert. It was a funny fuckin thing, that meme up there on the board. I was gonna take it down, you know, in the interests of neighborliness. But I figured what the fuck, and just left it there. By the way, I checked my mailbox and my mail ballot app was in there. I filled it out and everything. Also, I just thought of a new drinking game. It's called "Kamala What?" How it's played is, you get a bunch of party friends and you all get drunk, and every time somebody says Kamala with the wrong pronunciation he has to chug a beer. In closing, never drink and drive.

With Paul, Jorma, Jack and Spencer too. :)
… ‘the regular guys and Nicky Hopkins.’

Mike Pence thanked Biden for “putting the interests of our Nation ahead of his own.” That is the response Trump should have delivered.

Time for Donald to get a bigger ear patch …
💰
The spigots have opened up. Kamala raised $50m for the campaign directly. Future Forward, a major super PAC, received commitments for $150m. ActBlue, another PAC, raised nearly $100m since Biden’s announcement.

Did anyone heed the calls for being more civil in discourse? Prior to Vance’s rally today, an Ohio state senator said if the Dems win “it’s going to take a civil war to save the county - and it will be saved.”

The Republicans lost elections in 2020, 2012, 2008, 1996, 1992 … yet they still found ways to carry on without a civil war. Dems lost them in 2016, 2004, 2000 … because the Republicans were around to participate.

Yesterday, my wife and I both got letters from President Biden asking for money. My wife asked, "didn't he drop out of the race?" I replied, "yes, yet, he could still use more money, 53 million cash on hand in contributions isn't enough obviously". What a roller coaster ride recently. I've changed my mind so often on who to vote for. First, I'm not voting, then a third party candidate, then Trump, now Kamala Harris (if she runs). An angry woman in charge sounds good. Feisty. Show up at a debate, holding her coat together with one hand, like my mom did when she was called to school about my behavior.

Money drives the campaign 🚌

Trump raised $34.8m from small donors after becoming a convicted felon. Harris, through Act Blue, raised $46.7m after Biden’s announcement.

The sum of money being raised is incomprehensible. The fact that they spend it all is mind blowing. Get ready for the local news stations to upgrade their weather equipment next year.

Donald Trump uses much of the PAC money he raises to pay down his legal debts... which of course, should be campaign finance violations. It's to keep him out of prison because everyone in the country knows that he lost the 2020 Presidential election. He knows it too. He just can't say that to anyone. So he continues with the BIG LIE.

What a grift, con and steal job he did on all of his supporters and on the American people.

https://ncnewsline.com/2024/07/23/the-right-swings-and-misses-with-absurd-calls-for-biden-to-resign/

Richard Hudson (R-NC) -- a man who has loudly stated that the nation’s future should be turned over to a 78-year-old serial liar and convicted felon for whom utterly unhinged statements are an almost daily ritual -- said if (Biden) “is mentally unfit to campaign, he is mentally unfit to have the nuclear codes.”

  • So Hudson wants to give the nuclear codes back to a Former President who became so enraged over the conversation he had with AG William Barr because there was no election fraud found that he threw his lunch -- a plate of spaghetti -- at the walls of the West Wing dining room in the White House.
  • So the GOP Congressman from North Carolina wants to give the nuclear codes back to a Former President who showed off U.S. intelligence secrets about Iran to reporters because he likes to brag that they are his "papers." (all of which was negated by Federal District Judge Aileen Cannon who has dismissed the case. Soon to be appealed by Special Prosecutor Jack Smith)

.... it's like the Genesis song "Land of Confusion" where the "animated" Ronald Reagan presses the nuke button when all he wanted was his nurse ...

Now 45 is blaming Biden and Harris for not properly protecting him at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania the other week ago. None of that would've happened if his crooked ass was sent to prison or be on house arrest just two days before the rally. He's pathetic and I really hope he lose in November.

Some say D.E. I. as if diversity, equity and inclusion is bad. Prescott is a little town in my community. Not a single home there is the same. Every home has it's own unique architectural design. Lakewood shores is another area in my community. Every home looks the same, the home owner association restricts the color of the shingles and the color of the house. U. I.E. , uniformity, injustice and exclusion are what some support. Voting is repugnant to them. Plutocracy, rule by the rich, is their goal. Turn society into one gated community, making regulations to drive the undesirables away.
