I agree with you. Navy is not a slouch at the moment. Paul Johnson built a pretty tough program and the current HC is "riding the success wave."

I think tOSU was looking ahead....they were up by 2 TDs and basically fell asleep at the very end. It wasn't like Navy was leading the whole game....

Re: USC vs OHIO STATE

I don't know who to support in this game. It's played by two teams I usually want to loose. :1orglaugh

I'm not sure what to expect in the UM-FSU matchup tonight. Its should be a helluva battle as usual but I'll go out on a limb and say the 'Canes win by 3.....maybe a last second miss of a FG by the 'Noles perhaps? Probably goes wide right? Just a hunch....don't ask me where I got that. :D

Miami 27, FSU 24

BTW, Cincinnati killing Rutgers at the half. They look like the beast of the Big East today.

Re: USC vs OHIO STATE

Look Navy is a really good team and no push over by far I'm not defending OSU matter of fact I'll be honest I'm really not giving them a chance but a lot can change in a week but I tell you what if Ohio State play like they played Navy the game will be over by halftime but that is just me

If USC goes into the horseshoe with a freshman QB starting his second game and puts an old-fashioned ass-whipping on the Bucks I will sing their praises to the world. No disrespect intended but this won't be SJSU they'll be teeing it up against. Tressel won't let his team forget about the Navy game (a classic case of looking ahead if ever there was one) and he'll have the Bucks ready to play. Should be a great game....looking forward to it.

Just a side note....does this topic really deserve its own thread? As rwill25 pointed out, we already have a very spirited NCAA football thread going and it needs to be merged with it IMO.

To think Bill Martin tried to bring Schiano to UM...(wipes my brow feverishly....whew!)

So it is like that Huh:dunno:Okay Looking foward to a great game tonight no wide rights or lefts for that matter just right down the middle FSU by 6 23-17:thumbsup:

Yeah, I already get a lot of shit for being a Sooner down here in South Florida.

I might as well join the crowd. :)

Yeah, Ohio State even played a back-up QB in the first half to give him some reps. They treated that game like an NFL pre-season game.

The big problem for Ohio State is that offensive line. I didn't see any push at all, which really surprised me. I think OSU should run more of an option or a zone read.

Remember, USC usually doesn't do well against running QBs. Tyrell Pryor is one of the best IMO.

Just over an hour away SR22...can you feel it??? Just about time for you to start your pre-game rituals...correct?

Re: USC vs OHIO STATE

A few years ago, Ohio State went 14-0 and won the National Championship, but they went 4-10 against the spread. That year they won 7 games by a touchdown or less.

That was more than just a few years ago(2002),but they had some great games that were pretty damn tight.Hell, they had to go 2 overtimes to beat Miami in the national title game(Fiesta Bowl,if memory serves me).

It's funny looking back on those two teams, there aren't really any stand out pros from either of them.Maybe some good ones, but nothing to build a franchise around.Willis McGahee could've been something, along with Jarrett Payton, but injuries forced Jarrett out real early, and pretty much made McGahee ineffective.
