I was looking at his stats and I never knew Johnson first came up with Montreal. It makes me wonder how many good pitchers came up from them they let go.

:eek: you dont know that? montreal was for a while the majors farm system. just look at these players that i can think of that left before or at thier prime:

sizemore
cliff lee
bartolo colon
larry walker
marquis grissom
ken hill
john wetteland
delino deshields (i know, but he was good with montreal)
moises alou

if his ommision from your list is that they "came up with montreal" ken hill doesn't belong on the list because he played four seasons for the cardinals before they trade him for andres galarraga. He actually had his best years with St. Louis and Montreal. And wetteland debuted with the dodgers. And alou had 2 games (5 AB) with the pirates. But you're right about them essentially being a farm team for several years.

What makes it even worse is the fact with Woods and Prior made you have hope. I could still remember the days where people like Kevin Tapani and Steve Trachsel were in the rotation.

Vlad has always had the same problem that people like Soriano have had. They never see a pitch they don't like to swing at. I was watching the Angels game last Saturday and was shocked that Vlad actually waked TWICE on pitches there were just outside the strike zone! He has just been good enough to get away with it most of the time. I still wonder why anybody throws anything but junk off the plate to him.
