Just been to see it and I loved it, was a bit of an abrupt ending. I would like to see a second part to this film but it would have to be done in the right way, not just a sequel for the sake of it. As for something falling into the water I didnt see anything so I might have to go watch it again.

It might just be me being stupid but you know when everyone goes onto the roof to see what is happening and there is a big explosion on the building in the distance. What causes the explosion?

None of which are verified by the people that made the movie as I understand it. Without jumping in there are you talking about all the "Slusho" theories and stuff like that?

Regardless... I couldn't see it.

From what I understand,Slusho is owned by Taguato, and yes you are right, none of it has been substantiated by the filmmakers but I'm sure the rumors and theories didn't come out of thin air.I guess we have to wait for the sequel for further clarification...maybe.

Thats the oil tanker out in the bay blowing up, you see it when they go onto the brooklyn bridge.

Before the monster hit the tanker, it hit the statue of liberty, for some reason it grabbed onto the head and carried it toward the tanker. I heard some theories that it may have thought the statue was a actual person and tried to eat it.

My question is what caused the "earthquake" type tremor that rocked manhattan and the power blackout. The explosion from that tanker would not be strong enough.

This is a good movie. The sound effects of the monster was great, kinda had the same effect as the alien tri-pods from War of the Worlds.

Peace.

IIRC people came up with those theories based on JJ Abrams TV shows Lost and Alias, which have some kind of references to Slusho... I think.

I had a friend email me this pic. It is from the opening sequence with the Dept of Defense intro on the tape.

The DHARMA log is visible for a few seconds. Not sure if it was put there as a gag by the producers, or if it relates to the show Lost. I checked Wikipedia and they list it.

Peace.
