I'm beginning to think that this is just "Blair Witch 2.0"...and that the monster will never actually be shown. The writers will just let the human imagination take over and paint the picture of the monster...

...which will certainly p*ss me off.

I hope they do that.

Mystery is what makes a good monster. Once you see it, it's no longer interesting or scary.

Take a look at what happened to Jeepers Creepers, the first 30 minutes of that film was awesome because you never see the killer... Then all of a sudden its an old vampire with a hat. Greeeaaat...

Tonnes of other examples. Blair Witch was good because they never showed the monster, and this would be a better film if they did the same.

I have to go see this this weeked, even though I have heard the CGI is terrible.

I saw it earlier today and the monster isn't scary, per say but he really fucks some shit up real good. It's more about the situation, imo, rather than the monster(s).Oh, and I totally agree with you about Jeepers Creepers.

The CG isn't that bad at all.I can name a shit load of movies that had worse.

It's good to be the king...
This movie was great, the CGI wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, only one scene that stood out to me. The storytelling of it was fantastic and the end is more realistic than most movies out there (maybe that is why so many people seemed dissapointed with it).

Re: 1:18:08 (Trailer) CLOVERFIELD

i saw it today....it was good not great nothing made me really get into the movie. lots of running around and stuff. it was good but nothing to run out and see immediately i think.
on a scale of 1-5
i give it a 3.50- 3.75
i thought lizzy caplan or Marlena was a hottie from Cloverfield

cloverfield was awesome and it scared me though lol...

i read your review. the END!!???? 2 guys at work told me (get ready for this) "pay attention to everything happening on the screen just before the credits roll"......................... how the fuck am i supposed to do that? stare at my watch or a clock to time exactly when the movie is supposed to end? fucking idiots.
i watched ...and i guess the final scene from the ferris wheel at coney island is supposed to show something? i didn't see it. :dunno:

I waited and figured the ferris wheel was the final scene... I think I read somewhere that if you look closely (however you can do that in a movie theater) you see something fall from the sky... I think into the water or something. Since th events from that scene were actually before the Cloverfield events I guess, if it's true, it would imply that the creature fell from space or something.

I didn't see it... nor did I understand that garbled crap at the end of the credits/music.

Look on the Cloverfield thread on IMDB,a lot of questions can be answered there. It's not the monster that fell from the sky,it's a satellite from the Taguato(sp.?) Company,or that's seems to be the explanation that some are coming up with.If you feel like killing an hour or so,just scourer all of the Cloverfield sites and you'll find a suitable explanation.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
Looks alot like Sin from FFX.

yea it does.

so...is the movie worth going to see in theaters or wait for DVD and rent it??

Unless you have a really good home sound system, you can't fully appreciate this movie at home.Go to the theater and see it,it's worth it.

None of which are verified by the people that made the movie as I understand it. Without jumping in there are you talking about all the "Slusho" theories and stuff like that?

Regardless... I couldn't see it.
