It has been a busy day: Kenosha, WI; Omaha, NE; Austin, TX; Columbus, OH.
Kind of coincidental it's also been exactly one year since the worst mass shooting in Canadian history:

I hear that argument and can concur with it. There are multiple scenarios to consider which eliminates a one-size-fit-all response. Gang-on-gang ******** is different than random mass acts of ********. There is one common denominator though. If *** control that satisfies the advocates of *** control ever gets implemented the enforcement resources would be prioritized where the most *** deaths occur on a consistent basis. How do you disarm the gangs of the inner city? I don't have an answer for that.

Nah, I found an easier solution for me - reverting back to my old way of thinking about it.It's tough. We're also relying on politicians to stick their political necks out to solve the problem. Politicians only care about retaining power or getting more power. Do you really think the guy you vote for cares about you? You know better.
As soon as the race card is thrown it's game over. Unless you want to declare war on gangs then you escalate a bad enough situation. So far containment has been the lesser of all evils.
And this is a victim of gang ********. She's the innocent one to me. The ones that took her sweet life deserve to pay the ultimate price.
It sucks to admit that but yeah. Too many factors with guns, *********, politicians, and The Constitution. As you note, what can you do? Long ago I accepted it as a fact of life since no one seems to want to do anything about it.
The Constitution has been amended 27 times (including the two dealing with prohibition), so it can be done. No one has a fetish for the 3rd Amendment. It sucks to admit that but yeah. Too many factors with guns, *********, politicians, and The Constitution.
I'm friends with the guy from Iran who lives next door. We talk a lot over our fences. He tells me one day, "Hey buddy, this city... it is turning to ****." I reminded him that he lives next door to me, I live next door to him, we both have nice families, and live in a nice neighborhood. When I shrunk his world in front of him he felt better.

My statement about 'no one seems to want to do anything about it' was unnecessarily broad. It should be read 'not enough people seem to want to do anything about it'.
Who does want to do something? I could rattle off the lawmakers, politicians, and activists, but you nail it when you state 'who can be threatened or paid off.' Those are essentially the tactics of the NRA when they even smell a Republican thinking *** control may be reasonable. The political will does not need to come from the pro side of *** control (Dems), but the con side of the argument (Reps). Nothing happens until next time and we repeat.Good point about The Constitution.
If not enough people seem to want to do anything about it could you tell me about the few that do? They're still lawmakers and politicians who can be threatened or paid off. I don't agree with someone like AOC much but i do have respect for her as a fighter who says what she believes in. Is someone like her too green and inexperienced to have the ability to get things done? If someone like her sticks around long enough good chance they get corrupted and join the establishment. Nancy Pelosi already wants to give AOC The Sicilian Necktie because she's bad for business. AOC is just an example.

That sounds familiar. I recall someone who would complain " ...but nobody likes me." He was certainly confused by the concept. If you put your servant up on a pedestal you will confuse him to the point he thinks you live to serve him.
Correct. Let's go back to Lincoln in 1964: "Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God ... The prayers of both could not be answered." Promises are only the opening offer in working toward a realistic solution. Politicians, and their partisan supporters, have lost sight of that concept. Most of the time they make empty promises and blow smoke up your ass.
Forget taming it, let's just even try to understand it.Numbers as of April 14. How do you tame this level of savagery?
In Chicago, 864 people have been shot this year. That is 218 more than 2020
