Oh, you mean like that hilaricanrana he did? ;)

That was definitely the most egregious example, but the man's idea of "kicking out" is just bolting up like his alarm clock's gone off, and he can't even get his arms around Punk's neck to make that STF look like anything resembling convincing. I mean, yes I made the mistake of watching a 2 Cold Scorpio/Sabu match on DVD shortly before Raw so I stupidly had a good match between real talent to compare it to, but still.

awesomeness!

I love the part when Cena just jumped up like he was fine when the count out hit 9. The whole time he's just laying there and then just jumps up. Then I thought he was gonna break his damn neck trying to do that hurricanrana. Other than that, it was damn good match.

Exellent match ! Glad i was able to watch it. I grew up watching wrestling.

CM Punk I am GOD stuff...better not be a setup for a match with JBL or Mick Foley. JBL used to call himself a "wrestling GOD" and fans always wrote signs that say "Foley is GOD". I highly doubt it, but WWE has thrown curve balls before.

Don't you remember when HBK teamed up with God? Looks like he's going to be putting the boots on again.

I'm expecting Punk's "I am God" angle to coincide with a challenge from The Underaker.

HBK: "Punk, I served with God. I knew God. God was a friend of mine. Punk, you're no God."

Rumor is that CM Punk vs Undertaker is confirmed for Mania

^More than likely some time waster.

Don't get me wrong, I am still a fan of WWE, but they need to find a different direction than where they're going now.

That's f'n hilarious, man! :1orglaugh And to think, it's not even just an archived page or anything; it's actually still up.

jeez! i remember when it first started and i would go to my friends GF's house, which he was at while she was at school for night classes, and we would get drunk and watch Thunder. EVERY thursday we would just hang out and watch thunder?!?!

i wonder what the WWE has in store for the OLD SCHOOL RAW tonight???

I think you would need to be drunk to enjoy most episodes of Thunder. :D

Old School RAW was alright. It was a fun show and pretty decent build to WrestleMania, but nothing overly interesting. The best part about it was the old school setup...they really go all-out when they do this, and I really enjoy it.

It was a pretty good Old School Raw. The referees were wearing their old uniforms, looking like 1950's soda jerks. Cole was wearing one of Vince's old mustard jackets. Lawler was actually dressed like The King, instead of the Ed Hardy douchewear shirts he wears nowadays.
They really did go all out with the set to make it really vintage - To be honest, I don't recall hearing Cole use the word "vintage" all night. Weird.
They should keep the red, white and blue ropes. It looks better.

The only "old school" appearance that I actually (hold on, I'm about to use an overused douche phrase) 'marked out' for was the New Age Outlaws. Road Dogg still sounds great on the mic, and Billy Gunn still kicks ass in the ring. "You've still got it!", as the Buffalo crowd chanted.

The Miz appearing with Ric Flair.
Michael Cole: "Wow! We haven't seen The Nature Boy since..."
Me: "Since January?"
It's funny seeing Miz and Natche doing the strut. It reminds me of Phil Collins with Genesis.

But it was funny to see Flair try to chop Big E. Langston in his onesie.

Triple H came out. He was sure to instruct Cole and Lawler not to speak during his entrance. No one interrupts Motorhead!
The Game caused Brock Lesnar to get 12 staples in the back of his head. I've had to get staples in the back of my head before. Not fun.

The Undertaker returned, and I was surprisingly Underwhelmed. Maybe because we already knew he was returning, and had originally expected his return last week.
Mark Henry vs Ryberg possibly in the future? It only makes sense to put these two strongmen toe to toe.

Re: WWE Raw & Smackdown Weekly Thread

RIP Paul Bearer. 58?? I thought he was older. So he was 36 when he started as Taker's manager. He looked a lot older than that. :2 cents:

I was wondering why Paul Bearer didn't show up with Taker on Old School Raw. This is terrible. I see that he was only 58. My mother's age. I hate it when things are put in perspective...

The Brothers of Destruction will HAVE to reunite next Monday. It has to happen.
I can already imagine it. Taker carries the urn to the ring, puts it in the corner. The match ends (of course with them winning after a synchronized double Tombstone), the losers clear the ring, Kane and Taker stand in the ring, Taker opens the top of the urn, sets it down in the middle of the ring and does that kneeling down pose that he would do when Paul would hold the urn (maybe Kane does it too this time), and for special effect, a bright light shines out of the urn as Kane's pyro burns in the corners.
Something like that would be pretty cool.
