It was a pretty good Old School Raw. The referees were wearing their old uniforms, looking like 1950's soda jerks. Cole was wearing one of Vince's old mustard jackets. Lawler was actually dressed like The King, instead of the Ed Hardy douchewear shirts he wears nowadays.
They really did go all out with the set to make it really vintage - To be honest, I don't recall hearing Cole use the word "vintage" all night. Weird.
They should keep the red, white and blue ropes. It looks better.
The only "old school" appearance that I actually (
hold on, I'm about to use an overused douche phrase) 'marked out' for was the New Age Outlaws. Road Dogg still sounds great on the mic, and Billy Gunn still kicks ass in the ring. "You've still got it!", as the Buffalo crowd chanted.
The Miz appearing with Ric Flair.
Michael Cole: "Wow! We haven't seen The Nature Boy since..."
Me: "Since January?"
It's funny seeing Miz and Natche doing the strut. It reminds me of Phil Collins with Genesis.
But it was funny to see Flair try to chop Big E. Langston in his onesie.
Triple H came out. He was sure to instruct Cole and Lawler not to speak during his entrance. No one interrupts Motorhead!
The Game caused Brock Lesnar to get 12 staples in the back of his head. I've had to get staples in the back of my head before. Not fun.
The Undertaker returned, and I was surprisingly Underwhelmed. Maybe because we already knew he was returning, and had originally expected his return last week.
Mark Henry vs Ryberg possibly in the future? It only makes sense to put these two strongmen toe to toe.
