Details Behind Brian Kendrick's WWE Release: **** Use?
by Nick Paglino
Aug 05, 2009

Source: The Wrestling Observer

It's being reported that Brian Kendrick's WWE release was actually something that had been planned a few weeks in advance, which is why he had been so negatively booked on Raw. In his last couple weeks on TV, Kendrick was booked to lose to both Jerry Lawler and Kofi Kingston in what were basically squash matches meant to humiliate him, and that was the way WWE wanted him booked prior to his release.

It's being said that Kendrick failed numerous ********* tests and WWE management was getting tired of his repeated failures. Although a ********* test failure only constitutes a $1,000 fine as opposed to a suspension, WWE is cracking down on the wrestlers who ***** the **** too often and repeatedly fail tests.

Kendrick's release is not only punishment to him for failing ********* tests, but it is also being used to serve as a warning to talent higher on the card who feel they can get away with ******* ********* and simply pay the fine when they fail a test.

Big Update: More Raw Guest Host Names Revealed
by Nick Paglino
Aug 05, 2009

Businessweek.com has an interview up with Stephanie McMahon where she comments on future guest hosts of Raw. She says that the idea of ********* guest hosts is definitely going to continue, and names like Freddie Prinze Jr, Bob Barker and Al Sharpton have been confirmed as future guest hosts of the show. The article notes, "Down the road, Stephanie McMahon says the show plans to have as hosts Freddie Prinze Jr., who will promote his new role on the Fox TV show 24, former game show host Bob Barker, and the Reverend Al Sharpton (who hasn't yet said exactly what he'll be promoting)."

At this rate why don't they go and get President Bush?:dunno:

it aint to bad of an idea but i wish they old timers instead of actors just looking to promote there show . just keep it to old school wrestlers like ricky the dragon , dusty , slaughter , snuka . i mean there are so many great old timers that would prolly love the spotlight just one more time

But bringing back old timers will most likely not draw any extra ratings. The ********* Host thing was put into place for that very reason...for ratings. If they're going to constantly use wrestlers, they might as well put a good, permanent GM in place.

I'm giving up on the WWE because their actions fit the definition of insanity-doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Smackdown pissed all over Raw again this week raw was a joke it,s turning into a ***,s program a comedy show :dunno: :scream:. I love Smackdown tho Love Chris Jericho he is the best  and i love Eve Torres what a godess

they are gonna spread there roster to thin here in awhile and burn out all there wrestlers

Big Exclusive: The Main Reason For The Raw/Host Concept
by Nick Paglino
Aug 10, 2009

According to an inside source I spoke with earlier today, the real reason why WWE and Vince McMahon have decided to run the guest host concept on Raw is due to network pressure from Bonnie Hammer of USA.

The main feeling within NBC right now is that USA President Bonnie Hammer thinks Raw has lost it's "big star atmosphere." In looking at trending results, Hammer thought WWE's loss of Austin, Rock, etc followed by Shawn Michaels taking time off, and the brand split, has left Raw with only John Cena and Triple H as marquee names, with Randy Orton as the only new breakout star.

This is also why WWE is doing the "music video" version of Wrestlemania 25 on NBC, so that WWE can associate "more star power" with the brand. Bonnie Hammer was a huge proponent of the Donald Trump angle, but as predicted, WWE and Trump couldn't make the schedules work for long term for a longterm project, so Vince put the "********* guest" credit on Trump so whenever it's mentioned, it gets the rub from Trump. This is something that Bonnie Hammer is a big fan of.

The idea of Big Show vs Shaq on free TV instead of on pay per view is yet another example of WWE attempting to please USA and Bonnie Hammer, as normally Vince would book such a high profile match like that on PPV. However, with Bonnie Hammer being one of the few WWE supporters in NBC, and with the possibility that Hammer could very well one day become the next President of NBC, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Kevin Dunn
are doing everything possible to keep her happy.

Exclusive Report: NBC Wants Ric Flair Back on WWE TV
by Nick Paglino
Aug 10, 2009

In a continuing effort to please both NBC and Bonnie Hammer, sources within WWE are reporting that Hammer and the network want Ric Flair back on WWE TV. They specifically want Flair to return to the company and work on the Smackdown brand to help boost the star power on that show, however the issue right now lies with Vince McMahon. Vince is reportedly not too high on Flair at the moment because of his association with companies like Ring of Honor and his desire to work elsewhere even if he is appearing on WWE TV.

As we reported a few months ago, Flair was pulled from his deal wtih Ring of Honor as NBC
was pressuring Vince McMahon to bring The Nature Boy back to WWE, however, every time Flair's name is mentioned by network execs, Vince always responds with the same thing: "we'll talk about him next week." This is why Flair is not currently working with ROH but has yet to return to WWE TV.
