Why Obama?

Yes. Cherry-picked. I'm not fucking kidding you. The 2001 radio interview wasn't at all about what the republicans are insinuating. Listen to the entire interview. It was more of a discussion of legal practice than it was about Obama's belief system. Sorry you can't wrap your little head around that. I don't know what else to tell you.:dunno:

Also, I'd love to now what criteria you use when judging political candidates. What exactly do you include in your "background check"? What "ideals" are you referring to? What "experiences" do you feel are prerequisites a political candidate must have before one can consider him or her qualified to be president? I'm sure we'd all love to know.

I for one consider a B.A. from Columbia in political science with a specialization in international relations, a J.D. from Harvard Law (where he graduated top of his class), being the first black president of the Harvard Law review, a career as a law professer and community organizer, 8 years as a Illinois State Senator and 4 years as a U.S. Senator to be enough of an indication that he is intelligent enough and experienced enough to make the decisions that a president needs to make. He has also managed to run a fantastic campaign (even right-wing pundits admit that).

Obama has managed to stay steady and honorable throughout what has been one of the nastiest campaigns in history. McCain on the other hand, with his tactics of fear-mongering and race-baiting, cannot say the same thing.

All rubish and base insults (wrap little head around it comment "touche") from someone who gets offended whenn another member calls him "mba kid" or something like that.

You just sound like a recruiting informercial straight out of the "Freds" from the Crimson Guard (yeah you know what I am talking about C.C.)

You still failed to mention anything than B.O. has done that would indicate to me that he can handle the economy any better than McCain who has vast years of experience over him. Yeah he does have a lot of degrees and his take on the Constitution is masterfull since that was his bread and butter subject. But those are pretty much personal gains and not much you can do with this community (ACORN/Ayers) organizing thing, in comunist/socialist they are very good at that too.

He simply does not have the experience, background good enough to get top secret clearance but yet he will be over those people that grant it if he does become the president. Did he fixed or resolved any major economic crisis in Chicago? Illinois? what exactly has he done?

I respect your lil tiny attempt of explaining what he really means in what he says, that shows that you are very passionate about who you support I give you that but change and hope is not something you just put in any man, after all we are human and so is Barrack even though the mainstream media might indicate otherwise.

Well I don't know about you or if you are old enough but I am having me a beer and going to bed got to get up at 4:30 am to go earn some hard fought cash and not wait for goverment to give me a handout of wealth from somebody else cuz I don't need it...night night folks

^Yeah yeah. I guess I'll just repeat myself.

Maybe this time you'll answer.

There is a certain orthodoxy within the democratic party apparatus, a train of thought, if you will, that envisions this election as a medium to "get even with" george bush, by all means necessary. Forget about it ! Obama intends to create jobs, but only to the detriment of the taxpayer, i.e. - "The Great Society II" - through the growth of government, while at the same time he intends to intimidate private sector business via a confiscatory corporate income tax schedule. Private businesses will essentially flee this nation in the direction of nations that are more accessible, lucrative and accommmodating. Imagine that, America being the lesser of desirable of nations in the accommodation of private business ? As a result of these tax increases, the rank of increased unemployment will ensue.

Every one of obama's policies will include some form of the expansion of government. Every pitfall will be blamed on the former administration, every flip flop - 180º change in direction, counter to what obama has promised during his campaign will be accepted by the electorate as "enlightening" or of "great courage", yet another new crafty semantic that the democrats have implemented in their quest to deceive the masses.

Read some excerpts from obama's book "Dreams from my father", it reeks of rabid socialism ! Socialism is the very machine with which to rage against ! unless, of course, you don't have any desire to control your own destiny and would prefer that, in the name of absolute perfect equality, your government will provide you with everything necessary with which to sustain, you'll be just fine, however, realize that everybody hasn't surrendered to the socialist utopia. Why would you opt for the nanny state anyway ?. Oh, you just read the multi millionare obama's book, “The audacity of hope” ?
Yea, that’ll do it alright.

I imagine that 90 + percent of this board aren’t aged to the extent as to recall the atmosphere here, during the Jimmy Carter Presidency (?)
Well . . ..

Finally - "communism is the most effect medium with which to govern the masses. The only reason for it's failings of the past is because it hasn't been implemented properly" :pukey:

i fuckin hate sarah palin...i would skull fuck the shit out of her but then i'lll toss her back to todd after hes done filming us

Just like taking the VP job, she would probably bite off a lot more than she could chew!

Acorn Obama add,

Says McCain is trying to keep blacks from voting
What evidence is there of that?

This is another reason why I can't relate to the Democratic party.
Trying to cause more problems between blacks and whites, more anger towards whites from blacks by saying stuff thats simply not true.
Sad.

While that ad might be attacking McCain and the republicans it really is in favor of voters not being suppresed and not voting as opposed to being an Obama ad.Or isn't eveyone participating a good thing? Of course its not seen that way and never has been by the republicans and others.Just watch the ad, there has been methods of keeping some people from voting going on forever. As for evidence of voter suppresion this time around, here is a goggle link to tons of storys on such by you know who.

We need a black president, that's why.

Why does the color of the person in office even matter? Or are you saying that it does indeed make someone "different?"

Race shouldn't matter man. As long as people continue to make skin color a deciding factor, racism will continue to exist.

I'm just saying, black people have made this nation what it is today. White people have enslaved blacks and have treated them like dirt for many years. Blacks have served in wars for a country that didn't respect them.

I think it's about time blacks are put in power.

Not all blacks are, in fact "black" according to a particular political party orientation, in fact, the accomplished, independent minded, self sufficient Black American is the bane of the democratic party. That's why we see so few examples of fine independent minded black role models on the boob tube, or in the media etc., because they do little in the way of advancing the cause of down trodden liberal socialism. It's really demeaning to those Black Americans that have a story to tell about how they succeeded without the props. It's as if they couldn't possibly get a life without the tether of the democratic party standing behind them. Nonsense ! Dems always implement the route that requires the greater amount of government attention or ends up in litigation, every time ! For why would they actually be efficient ? It might put them out of positions of power !!

Damn those uncle toms !!!

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
How am I racist? It's the white folks that have been treating blacks like shit. All I'm saying is that a black person should for once be given a power of authority such as president of the USA.

Black people treat white people like shit too. So...:dunno:

Oh God not race again. If people would shut the fuck up about it it would eventually go away.

If only it was that simple, but it isn't.Whites don't like the subject and it is politically incorrect for them to talk the way they might have a couple decades ago publically about it.But that doesn't mean it has gotten better or lessened due to that. The only real progress made has been when it has been confronted and discussed and not avoided.Civil rights were fought for and if blacks had just been quiet like they had been before that, nothing would have ever changed.

Whatever the flavor, color, sex or whatever my President is, I will vote for the individual that I BELIEVE best identifies with my world view. It's called politics.
Race doesn't mean a godam thing whatsoever ! It's all about representation and nothing else.
