Barbaric ! . . . Barbaric . . Barbaric ! Barbaric !. . . let that word resound ! from mountain to mountain . . from hill to hill, from "valet to valet" . . Barbaric . . Barbaric ! :D

Who is this "different" man ? :D

KKK still exist because, the stupid in the KKK teach their kids the same way they were taught and its a never ending cycle!

Because religious delusion still exist. It allows all other delusions such as sexism, racism to corrupt the minds of what could be "normal" people.:yinyang:

The KKK still exists so the vast majority of Americans can feel united in hatred of a particular domestic group and not go to sleep feeling guilty about it.

I don't really agree with this 100%, but I think they serve that purpose, whether that is really the reason for their continued existence or not. :dunno:

The KKK is composed of racist and government infiltrators. In fact, there are so many infiltrators that if the government pulled them out the KKK would collapses from lack of due paying members. :dunno:

YM... ya kidding, right?

That's what I was thinking. :D

I doubt there are that many infiltrators.

Wonder what they would do to someone like that?

I wonder.....

I was only half joking because it would not be unprecented to have such a bizarre situation. It was discovered that the FBI, under J Egar Hoover, had so many infiltrators in the US Communist Party that the organiztion would go broke without the dues paying FBI guys.

Keeping things focused. The KKK came about in 1865 after the South's defeat in the American Civil War. It was a hate organization opposed mostly to Blacks but also to Jews, Catholics and even unionized labor. You have to remember that these types of organizations are fueled by generations of TAUGHT prejudice. Simple as that. Klan members regularly have taken their young sons to rallies and before that even lynchings. The power of the organization has since eroded but it still does exist with an estimated 6000-8000 members nationwide, alongside similar groups such as the Neo-Nazis. As long as hate exists along with learned prejudice, these types of organizations will continue to operate.

Maybe because there are still some hoods, which white people can't enter without getting problems? :dunno:
And they are affraid that one day the whole country will be non-white area.

this is better known as the Fear of a Black Planet

They exist simply to keep Linens and Things open. Someone has to buy up all the plain white sheets and pillowcases.

I really hate racism, it is pointless and there is no need of it. We are all human at the end of the day no matter what race we are, I have many friends of all races and I don't see them any different from me at all. Religions forbid racism but it also gives the green light for it at the same time. The KKK and other hate groups are not only racist but also racial supremacists as well and even in some cases religious supremacists. Of course you can get racist groups and racial supremacists with all races. To me although religion is one of the main causes of racism even if religion is not around there may be still some racism in the world but what will cause that racism varies. But also you get religious supremacists, gender supremacists and the list goes on and on.

Its like asking why does the BNP exist? Because out there wherever that may be there still is a group of small minded people who belive that white people deaerve to be the dominant race on this planet. Partly this ideology is down to their families views which have been passed down through the ages, and its down to the church which obviously preaches separatism especially in these areas and also that these people usually are uneducated morons who can only see a person because of their colour and from what they have been told (because they obviously dont have the brain power to build a rational thought of their own) they see other races as evil or bad or inferior.

These people are never going to go away, not so long as the churces (Jesus wasnt white for gods sake!!! (If he existed, probably not)), teachers, politicians and elders are still around to teach them to be this way. Because after all this hate goes away people are going to see that were all human and the only reason are skin colours are different is because thousands of years ago when the first explorers left Africa we all ended up in different places and our skin colour changed so that we could convert vitamin D easier the further north or south we went, thats all.

Try to tell them that, nothing gets through that protective "No! Were the best" barrier.

Question :

"Why does the KKK still exist?"

There is no simple answer to this but I will try to answer the question,

Ignorance creates fear ( fear of the unknown )
Fear creates a flight or fight response and hatred for the fear itself
The KKK and Neo Nazi's, use hatred and violence because deep down they are scared and ignorant of the truth.
Many racist try to use logic to explain their behavior. What the racist calls logic is most often rhetoric. The link attached is from YouTube and is entitled the Art of Rhetoric, this explains the concept much more eloquently then I.
The movie in the back ground is American History X which explores how racism and hatred are taught.

I hope the link and the recommendation for the movie provides some illumination on how and why some groups still exist.

I thought maybe when I saw this thread it was related to this story from just yesterday.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/11/12/klan.slaying/index.html?eref=rss_crime

"Police: Papers seized from Klan leader accused of murder"

"(CNN) -- Authorities say they confiscated documents related to the Ku Klux Klan from the Louisiana home of a man accused of killing a woman who tried to join the group."

Even joining is a violent dangerous thing apparently.Luckily these people have never been very bright and were only ever able to get away with anything because society refused to punish them. There was a time when in spite of overwhelming evidense whites refused to convict them for their cimes in many of the southern states. Not that they were only big once in the south but thats been about the only place in recent decades where you still find them. The reason they survive is not a single thing. Some is just pure inbreed racism handed down. Some is poor whites see them as potential competitors for jobs etc.,and use race as a way of trying to keep what they think they would lose if they had to compete with them without being able to have some inherent advantage they can claim to try to lock out the minorities. All this of course works well for the ruling class which can then play each group off each other and keep them divided and more manageable. The more people of lower economic groups were united for social justice ,the more powerfull they would be.This is true domestically and internationally. So bottom line is IMO people who are racist like the KKK and others are merely being played for the most part by seeing people of a different race who are in a similar economic situation as the enemy.Divide and conquer and oppress.

Religion? If you want to blame anything, blame the people responsible and Catholicism.
Not all faiths. ;)

They still exist for the same reason the Black Panthers still exist and the same reason La Razza exists. I find it amusing when minorities want to bring up the klan, but refuse to point the finger at their own racist groups.

The klan is nothing more than a crutch all (minorities) lean on to talk trash about the white race, it is truly the only thing left that the white race has that you can truly point a finger at and say, "That’s wrong, and it should be abolished," and "see, white people are racist," but this is America first and foremost...Which means that the klan can exist, the same way the black panthers can exist, but most minorities are to simple minded to realize this, even though minorities and others proclaim that the clan is the one that is simple minded.

I believe racism is wrong, by no means am I trying to say that the klan is a good thing, but you need to realize that there are racist groups in every race. Your question should be, why does Racism still exist?? Not singling out one racist group out of one ethnicity.

I heard the Panthers were out in Philadelphia, and probably other places, intimidating white voters.
So, it goes both ways. Really.

Will E,I have to point out that the vast majority (not all anymore) but still the vast majority of KKK/neo-nazi type hate groups are comprised of people who are affilaited with protestant based religions. For most of the history of the Klan it was not just blacks who were seen as the "other" but anyone who was not a wasp(white anglo saxon protestant).I guarantee the story I posted today about the woman killed trying to join was people that fit that description. And I know from personal family history ( being a wasp) that many times people other then blacks were seen as much of a danger to WASP america if not more.As my mother told me granddaddy often said he feared catholics more than anyone as in his words "they could pass for us".Thats really the lesson in this as I know many catholics are racially bigoted but need to keep in mind that this allowing such meant at one time it was applied to people like themselves.Racism and discrimination and pecking orders is a slippery slope.
