Please! To be the best player ever you can't be a defensive liability. Which Nash definately is. He isn't even the 3rd best point gaurd in the league right now.(much less the best all-time)

To be the best player ever you gotta have an all-around game. Inside/outside offense, killer defense, killer instincts, the ability to create offense for your teammates as well as the ability to play at least 3 different positions. Thats why Jordan was the best. He had it all.

MJ ALL DAY!

Jordan easy, but no love for the Big O? Only player to average a triple-double for a couple of seasons? Shout out to Wilt for being a Dub.

MJ best NBA player of all time, I could agree, but it said basketball. Basketball to me includes playing from the time you can dribble till you die. In a span of 6 years when Jordan won the 6 rings he was the best. What about the other years of his life.

"Player of all time" is a combination of skill, winning, statistics, intangibles, your play over your lifetime, all of them.

Pistol's leg cut his career short, he died to early, he did stuff in the 70's that And 1 point guards do now. He was an originator.

RIP Pistol

Jordan, and more because of what he did for the sport than his actual performance/skill level.

how could you go against michael jordan? one question though. why isnt pete maravich on this list?

let's see:

Jordan played 6 Finals, Bryant played 5
Jordan wins all the 6, Bryant wins only 3 (and only 'cause Shaq was there, so it's almost like a 0, but what the hell)
Jordan wins all the 6 Finals MVPs, Bryant... hmmmm... one? nope. Zero. None. Nothing.

now, who's better?

seriously, what Kobe and all his hardcore-fans should do is be a lot more humble and shut the fuck up about the comparisions with MJ.
it's just ridiculous. he (Kobe) is just a good player, that's it. no more than that.
in fact, right now there's others better than him (Lebron, Iverson, Duncan, even Nash -he got more MVPs than Kobe!-)

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
IMO out of those choices in the poll you have to consider chamberlain or jordan!! wilt was probably the tallest most dominating player of his time; he had the size and skill matched by none and with few competitors to challenge him game after game his advantages served him well his whole career; but in the end I pick jordan; because jordan isn't the biggest of players; he dominated the league with several superstars in the leauge and they were bigger; stronger superstars who could challenge jordan for superamcy; jordan was always double and triple teamed with all defensive player of the year canidates; players who were known for great defense and jordan abused most of them on a regular basis.. :hatsoff:

It's me!

It had to be Jordan...but don't count out Lebron James when its all said and done.

unless you count on lebron james winning 6 championships. likely in 3 or 4 peats, he will not be eligible for being called the best player of all time

Oh BS. You should have quit while you were ahead. Is Kobe the equal of MJ? No, and most likely he never will be. Is he "just a good player"? No freaking way. He's a superb player with tremendous skills. You hating him doesn't negate that.

in fact, right now there's others better than him (Lebron, Iverson, Duncan, even Nash -he got more MVPs than Kobe!-)

Iverson????? LOL
Yeah OK lets gather all the general managers together and ask who they'd choose to build a team around. As good as Duncan and Nash are the answer's going to be either Kobe or Lebron.
