Re: H1B Visa instead of just Green Cards ...

Although I do wish Rep. Pelosi would be more frugal, she is no different than those before her.

She's the first speaker to demand a near jumbo jet (B 757), if I recall correctly.
I'm open for correction though. ;)

I agree with you, re the H1B visas, BTW.

Again ...

She's the first speaker to demand a near jumbo jet (B 757), if I recall correctly.
Yes, because of the sheer distance to California. It's more of an Executive requirement -- i.e., comes from the Executive, not the Legislative -- that she have a vehicle so capable.

It's an overplayed argument. Even the W. administration crossed their own, Republican counterparts on the pettiness of the argument, and repeatedly pointed out that it's a requirement, she is the next in-line after the VP.

I'm open for correction though. ;)
The 757 is not that much bigger than the 737, and before the newer 737-800/900 models, the engines were far more efficient. Frankly Boeing's stupidity on the 717-200 (fka MD-95) cost them some of the marketshare that Embrier now has with the E-190/195, because they felt it competed too much with the 737. The 717 is the most under-marketed aircraft ... ever ... and now I'm sure airlines regret it ... sans the one airlines that owns most of them (and wanted more, but got 737s after Boeing cancelled production).

I agree with you, re the H1B visas, BTW.
Over 90% of the H1B's I work with are oversold on their expertise. The remaining 10% are good and getting fucked.

People should just get Green Cards. If they aren't of use, then they have to leave if they don't secure work.

The problem with that, outside of H1B Visa v. Green Card, is that too many fucking politicians cater to non-Americans for votes (God don't get me started). People wonder why even McCain crosses Republicans on that, but it's because he's from Arizona, and even he has to!

That's why we have services for illegals and immigrants who don't pay taxes. The solution is simple. If you cannot secure a job that is paying, you don't get services. You cannot carpet yourself in the US for services and not work.

That would solve the whole problem. Immigrants who "toughen it out" are what America was built on. Immigrants who "abuse the system" are the new-age bullshit. We don't need H1B Visas to protect us by labeling them "guest workers," we need immigrants with Green Cards who stay because they are needed or uniquely qualified and can find those jobs (at the same pay) and those who will leave because they can't find jobs and, just as important, don't get services as they don't.

This "oh, we have to give them services" crap is killing me. I'm sorry, I'm a heartless asshole, but if you want to stop the illegal and carpetbagging issue, you stop handing out services to people who haven't paid a dime in any generation to this nation! Sorry, but truth. Even citizens who live off the government at least have some working history in their family history.

Every immigrant has that opportunity, to make for themselves. That's what the US has been built on. We're all immigrants at some point.

We can blame ourselves. It's not like this financial crisis came out of nowhere. We did it to ourselves and have nobody else to blame for it.

I generally agree with you. Our economic problems are ultimately due to American citizens and companies spending money they never had. Now everyone (especially those that always have paid their bills) is being punished.

Simply put.

We paid more taxes and were more frugal at the same time, living on less and nothing like "the rich" that we are.

We created jobs. We lived on money we earned, not credit we kept using to pay off other credit.

Obama's irresponsibility of calling a "tax credit" a "tax cut" and saying that "tax cuts for the rich" (income) caused our issues when it was about investors, banks and people who already had wealth (not living on income) is just utter rhetoric.

I'm not saying others didn't do that as well. But it's just more rhetoric to appease the "dumb'n stupid" that think "the rich" as in "income tax brackets" are the solution. God that still gets to me, we're fucking ourselves!

oh yes, here we go again the guy that makes a quarter of a million dollars is going to tell us how he has it so much worse than the guy making 6 bucks an hour at McDonald's.

Get off your fucking high horse, if you don't like it, there's a red and yellow apron waiting just for you.

the wealthiest people in the world do nothing but bitch and complain about it and they really expect us to feel sorry for them because they had to pay some money and only took home at the end of the day more than 80% of the income of the average worker? it aint gonna happen jack.

I gotta say it again because it's just so absurd, if you're taking home over 100,000 dollars a year, of course you aren't gonna live on credit, because you can afford to buy anything that you fucking want for cash.

For real, where is the problem here? If you are taking home over 100grand and you don't have any money, it's not because of the government, it's because you obviously don't know how to manage your income.

took home at the end of the day more than 80% of the income of the average worker?

got some words mixed up there, it should have said "took home...income greater than 80% of the average workers." of course 80% of the average income would mean that they took home 20% less.

although that is a true statement, because they did take home more than 80%, that was just awkwardly phrased; the percentage doesn't refer to the income level, is what I'm getting at.

i blame all the dipshits that buy foreign POS cars!!!!!
plain and simple
you buy a north american car in korea and the government audits you
you buy foreign cars here and half the money goes overseas

should shut down the trade links right now and watch the economy flourish...theres nothing that cant be built here ...sure maybe your dvd player will cost 50 bucks instead of 35 buck but the money would stay here and be spent here...total crap thinking we need someone with tiny little japanese hands to solder microchips ...

smarten up you jackasses and buy north american

and blow up anything thats not...hehe hahaha hehehehe hahahaha

The true cause of the present economic meltdown is Dubya's "Ownership Society" crashing down upon us since it was a faulty idea built on a shaky foundation.

Dubya simultaneously forces through his tax cuts, Dubya overturns Wall St. "uptick" rule allowing investment banks and banks to shift around profits and leverage their businesses at 40/1 ratio, takes the US to war, announces "Ownership Society," signs Bank-backed credit/bankruptcy overhaul legislation, banks begin to create phony mortgage business plan, oil increases, banks report record profits, investment banks create shoddy, unregulated default market using huge amounts of leveraged money from the shredding of "uptick rule,", Homeowners take out "lines of credit" (wiping out what little equity was built up) for "Me Too" home remodel projects (granite countertops, stainless steel stoves, etc), the American consumer buckles under weight of oil/utility/food prices, foreclosures spike, construction projects stop, Investment banks fail, banks scramble, Dubya heads out the door...and now corporate america is responding to consumers pulling back all spending as they try to hold on to their homes and pay bills.

You're mistaken, it's the American cars that are junk. Americans buy foreign cars because they are truly better cars for the money. Only a "dipshit" would buy an American car.

you need to get the japanese cock out of your mouth

only a japanese cock sucker would say something like that

fag

why don't you chill out on the flaming there?

besides, he's talking about cars and you start talking about sucking cocks? sounds like you're the one with cocks on the brain (amongst other places)

Huh?

You're mistaken, it's the American cars that are junk. Americans buy foreign cars because they are truly better cars for the money. Only a "dipshit" would buy an American car.
Is that a joke? I happen to be an American engineer and know a lot of American engineers in the auto industry, even related to a few. Some models are junk, yes. Some models are not. Sorry. Brand name doesn't mean squat, it's a model by model evaluation.

And there are a lot of Toyota engineers who are American, and many plants in the US. Just because Toyota doesn't have factories in collective bargaining forced states ("closed shop") and all of that blue collar non-sense doesn't mean the white collar engineers that design them are any different than those in Detroit or elsewhere in the US.

You can't get me to buy a Chrysler, but I will buy Jeep. I love the Jeep Patriot over the Toyota Rav4 or Honda CR-V when it comes to a 4-cylinder cross-over that is more SUV than not. And you can get a Patriot with all the Rubicon Trail Rated equipment of the Wrangler. The reviews of what the little Patriot can do are amazing. No, it won't tow or do a lot of other things, but it's more than capable of pulling itself up, and has that 19:1 gear ratio option that is completely variable.

I love Ford Mustang. I love Chevy Corvette. I actually love a few models of GM here, Ford there. I like Toyota Collorola and Honda Civic. As far as truck, hard to beat a Ford F-150 in its class.

Nonsense ! :D These are all Starbucks talking points.

The cause of the crash had / has a lot more to do with "freddie maye & fannie macs" involvement in issuing sub prime loans for those, who, in the real world of finance, wouldn't qualify for the home loans they'd received, talk to any loan officer, they'll tell you. :D

Heck, ACORN had more involvement in the subprime loan scheme than idiot (bush) did. :P Just because it all hit the fan during the "w" presidency doesn't necessarily make him suspect for involvement in the ordeal, or does it ? lol !

I have to believe that fanny & fred was created with an insider, pre - agreement, that the two financing entities would receive a govt bailout when the shit hit the fan, and the rest is history. :D
