I am basically a non-practicing Catholic. I believe in some things of Catholicism. I believe the Pope (and most priests) are good men and mean well, but shouldn't be dictating people's lives. I definitely believe in "a God" and I'm pretty sure I believe in Jesus, but I'm not sure I believe he is "son of God". I may sound hopelessly confused, but not so, because the strongest belief I have is that if I am a good person (in my view) and I help people and am generally nice and kind, I have nothing to worry about, whether there is an afterlife or not.

We are sadly the most religious country in the developed world...I guess Bill Maher was right, we are stupid...(i.e. blind faith-believing in things with absolutely no corroborating evidence, using the "god of the gaps" argument, and so on and so forth).

Just like the scam of christianity for the past 2000 years (well it was really invented, and failed in, preventing an uprising but also a byproduct of this was) to sell a lot of books (well one book really but many copies of said book) and other items. Atheism is a religion, depending on how you define a religion: "a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects"
