I went to a local vacuum specialty store to buy a dyson when I got there the guy asked why I wanted the dyson and I said "because I hear they are the best" he chuckled and said "let me show you something"
we went over to where all of the sames were and there was a little pad with a hole on the end. he put the dyson over the hole which that measured the suction. the meter went a little over 1/4 of the way with the Dyson, which was $600 he then showed me an Oreck that was almost $1000 as well as several other brands and not one got to helf way on the meter. Then he showed me the Meile which went about 95% you could feel the difference. he proceeded to pour a variety of things on a strip of carpet including cereal, sand, some pennies, a cup of small ball bearings and some other stuff. then he used those other brands to try and pickup all that stuff he poured onto the carpet and they all left a lot behind. he poured it all over again and then swooped in with the Meile and got it all in 1 pass. it was less than the vacuum I went to buy so it wasn't some con job by the guy, he was just being honest. all of his refurbished vacuums were dyson.
also he told me that bagless vacuums are crap. if it is bagless it is not a high end vacuum.
vacuuming is my therapy always has been. so I spent a lot of thought and research and when I saw this I was hooked. that was about a year ago and I use it every single day that I am home, at least once but a lot of the time 2 or 3 times a day. I hate dog hair and have a big house with all wood and tile.
take it from a vacuum fanatic... Meile is by far superior
