All Is Lost (2013), good "stranded at sea" movie.
Good immersive cinematography and editing, felt like I was there.
Robert Redford gives a good visual performance.

Watched "Executive Decision" a couple of days ago, a fun popcorn thriller if you don't over analyze it. Also watched "The Dogs Of War" from 1980 and I was struck by how similar the more recent Expendables (I) movie was. Also I discovered there is a web site like IMDB for guns used in movies:
