No witnesses, no cause of death, no DNA, no fingerprints, two bags of garbage in a trunk for like 10 days in temps in the 90s everyday but no human flesh. If you want to go out and party, why kill your daughter? Drop her off at the grandparents' house. They doted on her and wanted her around all the time, so why risk the death penalty to go out drinking when you have free babysitters available? Being a slut and a liar doesn't mean you're a killer ... that's a HUGE leap. Clearly Casey's got some emotional issues, but again no evidence.
Moms who kill their kids fall into 2 categories: 1) psychotic/schizophrenia-types who strap their kids in the backseat of a car and drive the car into a lake; 2) those who have consistent and escalating patterns of emotional/physical abuse that ultimately leads to murder. It's been proven that Casey NEVER beat her child (indeed she seemed to be actually good to Caylee). Casey may have emotional issues, but she's clearly not insane. None of this computes. The jury certainly understood this.
All the defense had against her was her lies, that she's not a nice person, that she's a slut. But there was NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE. None. We don't send 25-year-old women to death row simply because we don't like them. You MUST have irrefutable evidence. People compare this to the O.J. Simpson trial. Sorry, but O.J. had a mountain of physical evidence against him, including a trail of his own fucking blood from the crime scene. There were also racial issues at work in that case. A predominately black jury let O.J. off the hook because they assumed the white L.A. cops were racist and eager to take down a rich black man who killed a white woman -- and remember this followed on the heels of the Rodney King race riots in 1992 when white L.A. cops got off the hook despite being caught on tape beating the shit out of King.
Casey Anthony faced weak circumstancial evidence. I don't think any of us would want to be on trial facing the death penalty just because someone snapped a photo of use dancing and having drinks. Distastful? Hell yes. But guilty of first-degree murder? Christ, you gotta be fucking kidding me. But it seems like a jury verdict in the country is irrelevet. If Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell say you're guilty, then it MUST be true. I hope Casey sues those two cunts into the poorhouse.
