Vegans

They eat the burlap sack they coincidentally use as clothing as well.

I don't know, but they must be pretty hungry after traveling 25 light years.

you can substitute a meat with a variety of Morningstar Farms soy substitutes(they have grilled chicken/veggie dogs/ribs/burgers,etc...) or other brand soy based products.

Most Morningstar stuff isn't vegan. There's only like one or two things that they make that are. Boca is better since they make vegan burgers and "chicken" nuggets, unlike Morningstar. I think that most if not all of Gardenburger's stuff is, and probably the best tasting. Amy's kitchen has some good stuff too, but they also have a lot of non-vegan things, and maybe even not vegetarian.

If anyone's interested in what a vegan eats, I made really awesome apple scones over the weekend. My entire family's been eating them. It's not like you can point out the soymilk. And scones don't use eggs anyway.

I actually eat vegan quite a lot - and not because I don't eat meat. I fucking hate animals and love eating them. But there are a lot of good vegan recipes.

Well prepared Tofu can be very good. I like it best fried. You can make great salads (with pasta, if you don't like greens), or sandwiches like burgers. The right kinds of bean curd have a meat texture.

Plus, cooking without meat forces you to get to know spices better.

There's a whole meat-free world out there, and it can be delicious.

But tonight I had a VERY rare porterhouse for dinner. So I swing both ways.

PM me if you want recipes. Bitch.

What do you feed these people???:dunno:

There are different types of vegetarians, each with their own set of rules. But, to be completely honest and realistic about vegetarians...

...

...

...they're all full of bullshit.

If you call them out on their hypocrisy, their reasoning for what they do becomes so childish and even more hypocritical. If you don't want to eat meat, that's fine. But don't act as if you're doing it for the animals; you're doing it for YOU.

There are thousands and thousands of everyday items that people from all walks of life use on a regular basis that contain animal byproduct, and vegetarians use these items. Yet, they act as if they give a shit about cows and that's why they don't eat hamburgers. Puh-leeeeeeeze.

Stop trying to offend people with your nasty attitude and educate yourself before you go off saying that myself and millions of others are full of bullshit. People are different, and people have different reasons for doing what they do.

I always found the vegans and vegetarians are smokers. I don't mean to sound negative it is just something I have always noticed.

Then again, I guess tobacco is a plant.

I have a nasty attitude, but you're taking offense to a comment that wasn't even directed towards you AND you're telling me to educate myself? Try educating yourself for once. You can start by looking up the definition of "hypocrite". Here's a hint, it's the word that has a big picture of your face right next to it.

You seem to forget that I'm a chef. I work with and deal with vegetarians (of all sorts) each and every day. I actually had to take a class on vegetarianism while I was in culinary school, earning my degree in Applied Sciences in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts. So, this education that you would like me to go out and get? I already have it.

You're the one that brought up "full of bullshit" and "hypocrisy". I was vegetarian for a year, and have been vegan for two.

Please tell me why you think I'm full of bullshit and a hypocrite.

AND.

Your degree doesn't give you a free-for-all to disrespect other lifestyles. If you knew any better, you'd know that people's reasons for the foods they choose differs. Mind you, not ALL vegetarians or vegans are PETA fanatics that want to liberate dogs and cats.

Not once have I ever gone off on a meat-eater. My parents eat steak in front of me all the time. I'm fine as long as it's not in my mouth. You do what you want, and I respect that. It's none of my business. I eat vegan foods, and that's my business. No one's wrong, no one's right.

The only thing full of bullshit is this thread and how negative people are being. It's disappointing and it pisses me off.

I do not care what others do. I try not to judge. I am going to continue to eat meat and cheese. If you don't want it great, more for me. I do however find it funny that other than a few hardcore exceptions, leather shoes, belts, purses etc. are fine but a cheeseburger is murder. If you are one of the exceptions I can respect that.

Read the first line in my last post. How did you miss that?

But, to point out just one small point of hypocrisy in the vegan diet...

Those fruits, vegetables, grains and other crops that you are eating? Chances are, given the history of agriculture and farming, those crops were originally farmed using animal labor. And, since seeds are passed down from generation to generation on farms, you are eating crops that couldn't have existed without the overexhaustion and downright slavery of animals. When the animals died, the parts of the carcass that could not be eaten were buried underneath the crops and used as fertilizer. So, if you think that what you're eating has absolutely no connection to animals, you're dead wrong.

Most vegans eat that way because they consider the killing of animals to be morally wrong, as they animal can't give it's consent. Well, the animals can't give consent to be slave laborers on farms either, yet, it was done for thousands of years, producing most of the crops you are eating today.

And, for the most part, speaking from a culinary point of view, most vegans are insanely unaware of what they're really putting into their bodies. For instance, do you drink wine?
