Total Nonstop Action wrestling thread

Taryn Terrell (formerly known in the WWE as Tiffany) made her TNA debut on Impact tonight as special referee in the Knockouts Champion match between Ms. Tessmacher and Madison Rayne. She's looking damn good. My memory is hazy on whether she was ever actually a "wrestler" or just eye candy. She didn't do anything except for some of the usual ref stuff, so I'm guessing the latter.
She's got a babe link section here, Premium Link Upgrade but aside links to her official site, her twitter and her myspace, there's one nude Playboy link. Premium Link Upgrade
Just another bolt-on blonde bimbo, but whatever.

That's the surprise ref that Brooke Hogan was talking about? I turned Impact off after the first hour and completely forgot about that match.

Clearly, the crowd didn't seem to even recognize the former "Tiffany". It's a wonder that anyone really remembers her. WWE hardly even used her. I think she made some appearances on ECW (the WWE bastardized version), and a couple of appearances on Smackdown, but nothing memorable. Her bio says she had a title match against then-divas champion Michelle McCool. Soon after, she was suspended by WWE because of some incident involving her then husband, Drew McIntyre. They're divorced now. She was released from her contract a few months later. Surprise, surprise, McIntyre was moved to a lower card status in the company around that same time.

No, she's not replacing Velvet Sky. She's not in the same league.

Knockout Returning

– Former TNA Knockouts Angelina Love and Velvet Sky will be featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of ModelsMania Magazine.

– During an interview Steve Gerweck last week, Rob Van Dam stated that a Knockout who recently departed TNA Wrestling would be returning to the organization.

When asked his thoughts on Velvet Sky, Angelina Love and Winter, he replied, “One of the names you mentioned is going to be coming back I believe. Or so I’ve been told.”

As noted earlier here on the website, Dixie Carter was not happy that Velvet Sky was given her release and personally contacted her to see if they could reach an agreement to bring her back. As of last word, the two had been talking about a new deal.

Report: Rumored Members of TNA's Aces & Eights Group

While the members of the Aces & Eights group in TNA have previously been reported as former WWE stars Luke Gallows, Chris Masters and Wes Brisco, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that more members could be announced, including Mike Knox and Jay Bradley.

Additionally, the group's leader is expected to be revealed at some point, and right now Jeff Jarrett is the rumored name.

Although this is purely speculation (and not mentioned in the Observer report), it's also very possible that Matt Morgan could be involved in the group in some capacity, because although he seems to be indicating that he's finished with TNA, he along with the creative team could very well be working the fans.

I'm pretty sure that one of them is Crimson. The one who was doing most of the promos for them was almost certainly him. Compare the eyes and mannerisms. Other people must've been saying the same thing because for the last 2 weeks, they've had him wear sunglasses to cover his eyes. I'm not saying he's the leader, but I'd bet he's part of it. The fact that he hasn't been on the show for a while makes it even more likely.
I'm so glad that Hogan isn't part of it. I was worried there for a while, especially after he wasn't standing in the ring with everyone else at the start of the show. Since he had already been part of similar storylines with NWO, and then again with Fortune, if he was part of Aces and 8's, that would've been pathetic.
I still wonder if Brooke Hogan is involved.
Oh, and here's hoping Velvet Sky returns.

Angelina Love speaks out

Former five-time TNA Knockouts Champion Angel Williams (Angelina Love) was the featured guest on the return of the award-winning Monday Night Mayhem.

Angel joined The Big Mosh & “The Chairman of the Board” Todd Vincent for her first (and only) post-TNA interview, a Monday Night Mayhem worldwide exclusive interview, which is now available for download on the WrestleView Radio Network:

Angel Williams/Monday Night Mayhem Interview (MP3 Streaming Audio): Premium Link Upgrade

Interview highlights courtesy of Paterson, MNM’s associate producer & official correspondent:

Why she felt the time was right to leave TNA/iMPACT Wrestling and start a new chapter in her career: “There’s no big fancy story, there’s no scandal. It’s nothing too big. I spoke to all the appropriate people. It was just my time. It was just my time to go. I was there for five years, was a five-time Knockouts Champion and one-time (Knockouts) Tag Team Champ, and did a lot with a lot of people storyline-wise. I guess I accomplished everything you could. Of course, I was always coming up with ideas, and wanting to do more, and trying to be creative, and get myself into this storyline and that storyline. Some things were being talked about, but mutually and completely amicably, we just decided it was my time, and that was it.”

Whether or not there was a noticeable difference in the direction of the Knockouts division after Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff joined the company: “I don’t know really. I find (Hulk) Hogan to be very, very cool. He was super supportive of the Knockouts division, and would always watch our matches, and give feedback, and was like ‘You girls kick ass.’ I think they know that the Knockouts division is a big part TNA, and it really helps out the show, but they are pretty supportive of it.”

How the idea for the upcoming Beautiful People reunion (featuring herself and Velvet Sky) came about: “We wanted to get The Beautiful People back together. The fans really wanted to see it too, and we really wanted to give that to the fans. We both get tweeted that numerous times every day from fans wondering when we were going to get back together in TNA and how they wanted to see it. We both still wanted to do it, because it was just so fun. With me leaving and with Velvet leaving, we kind of just said we could do whatever we want now, so it was just a given. For at least the next two and a half months, we have a lot of stuff coming up together.”

The level of interest on her end to sign with the WWE if the opportunity presented itself: “Yeah absolutely, I would love to. I think that would be awesome. It would be really, really fun. I really haven’t worked with many of the girls there, so it would be all new possibilities, and that’s fun.”

Much more is contained in Angel’s exclusive interview with Monday Night Mayhem, including the reaction of her former colleagues in TNA/iMPACT Wrestling regarding her departure, the inspiration for the “Angelina Love” ring name, whose idea it was to initially team her up with Velvet Sky, what the experience of The Beautiful People meant to her personally and professionally, her initial reactions to having Cute Kip, Madison Rayne, and Lacey Von Erich as members of the team, the evolution of the Knockouts division, how much truth there is to the rumor that LayCool (Michelle McCool and Layla) were put together by the WWE based on the success of The Beautiful People, the experience of training in the WWE developmental system (with Deep South Wrestling), the possibility of working with/against Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and AJ, if she believes The Beautiful People could be successful in the WWE Divas division, which opponent she would like to square off in her “dream match,” her blossoming acting career (including the details on filming “Dark Rising”), plus much more! Mayhem Nation: Be sure to follow Angel right now on Twitter (at Premium Link Upgrade ) for more information on the highly-anticipated reunion of The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky & Angelina Love), which heads your way beginning this September!

Is she being completely honest? I don't believe so.

1. I spoke to all the appropriate people. It was just my time. It was just my time to go.

"Of course, I was always coming up with ideas, and wanting to do more, and trying to be creative, and get myself into this storyline and that storyline. Some things were being talked about, but mutually and completely amicably, we just decided it was my time, and that was it.”

So, which is it? Did she decide to leave or did someone in the company decide?

She says she had ideas and tried to get into storylines.
Sounds more like they didn't listen and pushed her out.

2. "Whether or not there was a noticeable difference in the direction of the Knockouts division after Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff joined the company"

Of course there was! She sidestepped the question.

3. “We wanted to get The Beautiful People back together. The fans really wanted to see it too, and we really wanted to give that to the fans.

Yes, fans want to see this. :D

WWE would not be a good idea. The WWE is just for entertainment, not wrestling. Vince said so himself.

Report: Team 3D Leaving TNA Wrestling

Devon, whose contract with TNA Wrestling is reportedly set to expire this week, suggested on Twitter Wednesday evening that he’s parting ways with the organization effective immediately.

The TNA Television Champion wrote, “I would like to thank the tna fans for making the last seven years fun . im sure we will see each other again down the road real soon.

“im ready to see where god bring me to next. i cant wait . i see big thing on the way

“o and NO IM NOT RETIRING.”

It would appear that his departure is due to both parties being unable to reach an agreement for a new contract. He re-tweeted a message stating, “I’ll say this you boys deserve what ever you’re asking for plus 25%.”

Bully Ray, whose contract will also expire this week, suggested on Twitter that he will part ways with the organization in October at Bound For Glory, which takes place in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Dont mattah where ya start..mattahs where ya finish. See ya in Phoenix!! STRONGEST THE LONGEST. #BULLYNATION” he wrote.

Report: Bully Ray Signs New TNA Contract

According to sources, Bully Ray has signed a new deal with TNA. The deal, which was signed within the last week, is believed to be for two-years. Ray will continue as both an agent and wrestler for the company.

With Ray signing a new deal, this is the first time since 1996 that he and Devon have not been signed to the same company.

There was talk this week at TV that the company “didn’t do right by Devon,” as he got himself into better shape and had done everything that was asked of him, including working hard with younger talents and trying to help Garett Bischoff get over. Many were shocked that he was not re-signed, as he was considered one of the most well liked people in the locker room.

Ray and Devon still run the Team 3D Wrestling Academy in Florida together.

Pro-Wrestling:EVE, Europe's premier all female professional wrestling promotion present their biggest event yet with WRESTLE-FEVER live on iPPV on Saturday 10 November 2012 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk.

Headlining the mega event will be the rematch almost 2 years in the making as Pro-Wrestling:EVE Champion Alpha Female defends the EVE Championship against the number 1 contender and the only woman to have defeated Alpha Female in 2 and a half years - "The Dynamite Queen" Nikki Storm.

Storm earned her title shot by winning the 2012 Queen Of The Ring Tournament at Europe's first ever live iPPV "No Man's Land" presented by Pro-Wrestling:EVE this past February with wins over Hannah Blossom, Viper and Kay Lee Ray and has en route to her title match gone on to record victories over Erin Angel, Polly Anna and TNA Knockout & former WWE Diva Kat "Winter" Waters. In fact Storm will be entering The Delphi Centre in Sudbury on an incredible 19 month winning streak.

After winning the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship in front of over 900 fans this past April from grappling gold medallist Jenny Sjodin, Alpha Female has been grabbing headlines all over the UK. The EVE Champion has been heavily featured in national newspaper The Daily Star in addition to Challenge TV's Wrestle-Talk TV Chat Show (Sunday nights 11pm on Challenge TV directly after TNA Impact!) and recently recorded an episode of TNA Spin Cycle. The 6'1" Professional Predator that is Alpha Female has lost just one match in two and a half years and on November 10 The German Giant gets an opportunity to avenge that one and only defeat when she puts the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship on the line against number one contender and self proclaimed "World's Finest Wrestler" Nikki Storm live on iPPV.

Matt Morgan Crashes TNA Event

Matt Morgan “crashed” TNA’s Bethlehem, PA house show on Saturday night. He came through the crowd in street clothes, jumped over the barricade, and attacked Robbie E. According to a fan in attendance, Morgan was not backstage at the show so many backstage were even surprised. A fan video of Morgan’s appearance is below.

Following the appearance, Morgan posted another one of his trademark cryptic messages on Twitter, stating, “All 2nite really meant was I’m tired of “just be patient Matt”, being patronized & most of all being SOLD DREAMS! The real question is……Who am I with? Time will tell. ‘Til then,Tick-Tock….”

Hours before the appearance, Morgan teased appearances in either Chicago, Boston and Pennsylvania, where Ring of Honor, WWE and TNA Wrestling are respectively holding events this weekend: “Lots of great wrestling this weekend. Chicago………Boston…….Pennsylvania……. Who knows where il show up!”

According to sources, Morgan has signed a new deal with TNA.

TNA Head Reportedly Not A Fan Of Women’s Wrestling

According to a source, one of the reasons ‘some women’ have quit TNA Wrestling in the past year stems from the belief that Bruce Prichard, Senior Vice President of Programming and Talent Relations, is not in favor of women’s wrestling. This would also explain why the Knockouts division is not as given as much prominence as in the past, with only a few talents being highlighted.

Angelina Love and Velvet Sky reportedly left the promotion on their own accord and the roles of Mickie James, Rosita, Sarita and Winter were greatly curtailed after Prichard came into power last October.

******* Love  :flaccid: He might as well come out of the closet. I would rather him just leave TNA.

TNA needs to stop hiring WWE writers.

He's probably the reason all the Knockouts were leaving.
If he goes I bet they come back.

Holy ****! That really pisses me off!! It's almost as if WWE sent people in to **** TNA from the inside. Whenever I would get annoyed at the way WWE runs their Divas division, I would always refer to the way TNA treats their female talent and how the better ones should go to TNA and be a Knockout. Now, I don't feel like I can say that. Thanks a lot, ******* Love. Ahhhh haaate youuuuuu.

That's what I think. Vince lets certain people "leave" WWE to work for TNA and subvert it from the inside.

The Knockouts used to draw in the ratings. There's no sane reason to have let them leave and downsize them like they have.
