No. Although Brainstorm's depiction was pretty ace.

For example, I saw a ghost/spirit in the Fall of '92. No I wasn't high, buzzed, shroomed or liquored up.
What I saw proved to me that there has to be something after death.
fucking Jacob Marley! that guy and his chains....

"something" being the operative word. What exactly? If you can't know what it was then how can you determine meaning? By meaning I mean a more accurate truth or purpose by learning and knowing more of something you previously didn't. For instance; If a cave man saw an airplane would he assume it was just a bunch of people in a machine that flies, or a winged demon? How worthwhile are the assumptions we derive from personal experience?

You could have just as easily hallucinated it; personal experience is always convincing to the self.

There is something beyond or more than what we see that's fact based on quantum physics. Whatever I saw in '92 I'm quite certain was not a hallucination. It was something quite extraordinary that I remember to this day. Interestingly enough when I saw the "ghost" I was borderline agnostic/atheist.
I can't answer what happens to one's soul after death but I do know that something does occur.

I must possess all, or I possess nothing.

Oh. I'm sorry. I must have missed the paper published in; "the Physical Review", APS, and Nature, which states there's a correlation between "ghosts" and quantum mechanics/quantum field theory??

Could you cite which journal these findings were published in, please?

NB: Deepak Chopra is not a source. :brick:

I didn't say there was a connection between spirits and Quantum Mechanics.

However, QM has revealed things that we thought impossible such as 11 dimensions.

Like I said a thousand times before I used to think just like you guys. But seeing an apparition/spirit/ghost does tend to introduce a whole new avenue concerning what happens after physical death. I'll trust my own eyes before taking some atheists advice.

A very good friend of mine of over 30 years had several encounters with what's best described as the paranormal.

ditto

this argument is meaningless. it supports nothing, just that your mind can change.
what is in contention here is evidence to support the change in perspective.
other than "taking your word for it" the assertion of souls, ghouls, eternal life, and theology just creates even more questions. you've entered WTC7wasPulled territory

You are incorrect. QM & QFT are part of the Standard Model. You're referring to String Theory. String Theory is not part of the Standard Model of Particle Physics.

You'll have resort to other means of "proof", rather than invoke other woo-woo and misinterpretations of Particle Physics. :brick:

The point is they've revealed things that were unknown and thought impossible before.
There is much that we do not know, and to presume otherwise is simply being chauvinist.
I know what I experienced, and as of yet there is no alternative explanation as to what I witnessed.

that's interesting and have a similar story myself.

But the mind can easily play tricks on us; because things are vivid doesn't mean they're actual. Like the Astronomer who clearly saw irrigation canals on Mars then after he saw them other Astronomers did too.

Later they were disproven time and time again. But for a while they had many people going.

When there are no clear answers everything is in question imo. Even the event I witnessed I could never clearly define or figure what it was. Drawing assumptions to the uncertain however is comforting. However I find them likely to be inaccurate.

For what it's worth; I truly do hope there's an afterlife and that it's worth living.

People of faith are happier. :flame:
Article

I've known drunks that are happy alot of the time and once these people of faith, find out that had faith in something that let them down, their entire faith structure is ruined. Also, with alot of people, ignorance is bliss and being happier than others, doesn't change that what they have faith in, doesn't exist.
