The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Yes! My Broncos signed Safty Brian Dawkins for a 5-year 17 million dollar deal!

Pretty good deal without over paying! :D

Now all you need is 10 other good defensive players and you're set!!!

FYI - He's going to look sweet in the Bronco's alternate orange jersey.

Brian Dawkins might have been the best safety of the last decade, but he is almost on his last legs. If they get more than one good year out of him then they are doing well. Then again the Denver defense was worse than horrible last year so it's not like it won't help. He probably got some frontloaded contract where he will get most of that money and will be cut in a year or two.

New England is really rolling the dice on this one. There were complications with The King of America's surgery...now that the King is married, that means DISTRACTIONS off the field as he spends all his time :love-smi: instead of studying film. WHat if Brady can't come back?

The Chiefs get a franchise QB and a decent, versatile LB with Vrabel....Do the Patriots think there's a gem QB in this year's crop?

Just getting the draft picks alone would be worth it to them. Plus it would be kind of much to have both Brady's and Cassel's contracts on the cap like that. That's a huge amount of money for two players and only worse when only one of them can play at a time, and it's also just too much for an insurance policy. The reason they franchised him in the first place was so they could trade him instead of letting him walk. Now I wonder with that cap space freed up if they will go after one of the bigger free agents.

Maybe the patriots could pay Gisele to threaten to withhold sex from Brady if he doesn't perform well also. That could keep him motivated.

^I'm not sure they really got enough...the #34 pick is in that "gray area"...the Patriots have done will in the early part of the draft or in the late rounds....I should go see if the Patriots have a nother early draft pick to go with this new one...

The Fred Taylor signing made me think there were strange things in the air at Fortress Foxborough....

The end of the first beginning of the second round is where the best value per dollar for draftees comes from. You have a chance for good production, yet if somebody busts it doesn’t cost the team a ton of money and sink them down. Even if the people at the very top of the draft live up to expectations you will get no more than what you pay for most of the time.

Who are the present KC Chiefs WRs? I know they might get rid of Larry Johnson and the Big TE (can't recall his name--Gonzalez?).

Do we smell a TJ Houshmasomething/KC Chiefs signing now???

The Arrowheads are going bonkers. They released several older players, while guard Brian Waters has made it clear he wants out of KC. So does Larry Johnson--who following a career year in 2006, hasn't mustered a lot anyway. Coach Todd Haley's first year should be interesting. The Chiefs remain about $37 million under the cap, hence Cassel, and there continue to be openings.
Last season the bulk of KC's receiving fell on Dwayne Bowe(86-1022-7) and TE Tony Gonzalez(96-1058-10). Mark Bradley is the other WR in the mix with 30-380-3. Otherwise the Chiefs used about three or four other receivers sparingly.

Bengal FA T.J. Houshmandzadeh is talking with the Seahawks. Maurice Morris appears to be out in Seattle which will open up $ room for Housh. He played 8 years for the Cats drafted out of Oregon State. He's also looking at Minnesota and the Eagles, but Seattle looks like the front-runner.

New England has 4 picks between 23 and 58 so if they really want someone they could move up if nessessary but i think they use all 4 to countinue getting younger on defense. Good luck to K.C. on getting anything good for Johnson, Gonzalez might tempt somebody like the Eagles who are real close and Brian Waters will find work if they release him

looks like the lions are in negotiations with Baylor OT Jason Smith.

good for them. dont draft a qb. lions ight actually do something right for once.

I still say the lions should just start from strach and the O-Line is a great place to start.

truth.

besides, look at the qb's coming into the league next year. bradford, mccoy, tim tebow etc. and they WILL get a chance to draft one of those guys guarenteed. they can build a core around their future qb, and he will have a great rookie campaign.

also the lions selcting a o-line man first might push stafford out of the top 10 and drop him or sanchez in their laps at 20 where i'd grab them as the money is better and they can adress the defense after that

If that happened I would still shore up the defense first and just wait for a stronger quarterback class to come along in a later draft.

I would like to see Julius Peppers sign with the Patriots...and then...they will actually achieve the perfect season and the perfect Super Bowl win...80-0 blowouts every week:thefinger

The only possible distraction for New England is if the King himself can't rise out of bed to perform because he's too tired from performing royal duties in the bedchamber.... with Queen Gisele...
