How about those finishes today? Atlanta shocking Chicago, Rams upsetting Washington for their first win, Texans bounce back from their late collapse, and the Lions being the Lions! Not a bad first wave of games!

Did anyone else just see that BS in the Cowboys/Cardinals game? I thought that if somebody was offsides, you only had two options:

1) Decline the penalty, making your play stand
2) Accept the penalty and gain the 5 free yards, negating the play you just made

But...the Cowboys just somehow got an extra 5 yards AND their play stood? I think they blew that call.

Damn Bears, they not only manage to screw up a kickoff at the end of a game but the roughly dozen of seconds of prevent defense they only had to play to win it.

I like the Dolphins... I don't see many games as the ESPN here in Brazil only shows the postseason... the season I only watch the scores in Yahoo and it was a close game against Houston! :(

hey at least you'll don't live in the bay area where my viewing choices are the suck raiders and 49ers. at least today when the raiders where in no i got to see the bears - atlanta game and real teams play

We Ain't Lion !: News from the Detroit pro football world

--After an 0-5 start this season, head coach Rod Marinelli has devised a plan sure to change the Lions fortunes: voodoo. Said Marinelli, "My QB is out, my secondary sucks, I have no defensive line, and the remaining schedule looks like a death trap." Marinelli went on to explain his use of the dark arts to lead his team to victory, including chicken butchering ceremonies and voodoo dolls wearing uniforms of NFC North opponents.
--QB John Kitna is out indefinitely with back spasms, so the team has been scrimmaging both back-ups Drew Stanton and Drew Henson in preparation for the remainder of the season. Talks upstairs hint that owner William Ford would like to eventually trade Kitna to New Orleans for Drew Brees and the team's next forty-seven draft picks. Said Ford, "Owning a team with three Drews at quarterback would be a dream come true!"
--Disharmony among the defense has led to a sit-down protest by CB Leigh Bodden who demands an apology from management and his teammates for what he called "Pee Wee level play." When asked, the rest of the team responded by pelting Bodden with prophylactics chanting: "Put them on your Pee Wee!"
--Lastly, league officials are looking into Sunday's game with Minnesota, citing apparent "flagrancies with the rulebook" involving the Lions. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell stated in a memo: "A loss by the Lions isn't the issue. But a loss by only two points in Minnesota is very fishy."

They completed the long pass, then ran up and spiked the ball on the NEXT play. Which means the long play stands because they dude wasnt offsides until the next play.

They lost anyways which sucked ass, and they took an ass beating too.
Romo out for 4 weeks
Felix Jones out for 2 to 4 weeks
McBrair broke his foot on the blocked punt, he is done for the year.
Sam Hurd is out for the season with ankle surgery.

Great finish to the game tonight. Anyone know what Brandon Marshall pulled out of his pants?

The idiot announcing crew didn't even mention it, even though the replay clearly showed he pulled out something. You could tell on the live shot he was pulling out something and his teammates ran over quickly to hide it so he wouldn't get penalized.

How big of an asshole would he have been to get penalized for doing that. 15 on the kickoff and they probably couldn't squib it and they would have been forced to kick off normally to Cribbs on a short field.

Loved it though that winslow basically cost them the game at the end after that preening and posing after his TDs earlier.

I take it that the Brownies lost? Eh, figures. They suck balls. Fuck Brady Quinn too. He is NOT the answer.
