They didnt need the game?

To make the playoffs they didnt, but to knock Dallas out aswell as pretty much lock up the number one seed they did.

Now I have a question for you.

What happens if Dallas wins out and the giants loose out? Who wins the NFC East? They split during the regular season. They both tied in the divison and conference. Who wins the tie breaker?

it would come down to the division record, but it doesnt matter cuz the giants already won the division

it would come down to the divison record

I know...what I was saying is that they would both be tied in the divison and conference. How would they determine it?

well, the giants already won the division...it would come down to division record...then conference record...then points scored and points against...and they would probably look at head to head wins and loses...and anyways...even if they tied in the division record...the giants would get the nod over dallas cuz they only lost to 1 nfc team...and the boys lost to 4

I guarantee you that the Giants and their fans are worried about 1 team only. And it ain't the Cowboys.

Besides, the Giants have already clinched the division.

They may have. In that case it must have allready been figured out that some of their other wins were stronger or something.

All I know is that if the Cowboys win out they will finish 11-5. If the Giants loose out they will also finish 11-5. If that is the case they would obviously be tied with a split head to head, equal divison record, and equal conference record.

So if they have, infact, locked up the divison allready then it must have been figured out by strength of their wins or common opponents.

the only team to take out the panthers i believe now...falcons...giants are without burress, their deep threat...cardinals cant stop the run...the past 2 weeks the bucs defense hasnt been there, cant stop the run...vikings have no passing offense...what jackson did today, wont happen against a panther defense...and the wildcard teams wont have a chance against the panthers...falcons are the only team, that i think can take out the panthers...with their running game and control that clock...and their underrated defense

any given sunday my man

the vikings and the bucs beat the panthers this year...so dont rule them out just yet

and yes...while the bucs havent looked too good on defense the last 2 weeks...those games have been NFC south home games
and if you look at all those games...they were for the most part dominated by the home team....and the home team has won every time

And after me knocking Romo last week I am pleased to eat those words (for now). He was obviously hurt tonight and he played a heck of a game.

20-30, 244 yards, 2 TD 0 int

hottest teams playing right now...are the colts and panthers...throw pitt in there too

Some of them are better than others but even the top teams seem to have about 10 others that could reasonably win against them a good amount of the time if they faced off, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

I don't think he's reliable and he might break Cowboy Fan's heart again...but he did take a pounding and still got up for the next play. He earned some soak time in the hot tub after that game. That safety/sack in the 4th was brutal!

I'm not convinced either. But he played gutsy and great in a big game and I like the guy (what little I know of him) so good for him.

Go to www.NFL.com and check the standings.

This is what I found.

Two Clubs(tie breaker)
Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.

Best net points in common games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss

These are the ones the Giants have obviously allready won. Which would, in fact, give them the divison win.

I was under the impression they have secured a playoff spot but not the divison.

But if the Cowboys win out and giants loose out they could still end up with a tied record

Just check the standings. You'll see a little 'z' besides the Giants which means they clinched the division.

I somehow doubt NFL.com would get it wrong.

Dallas 20 Giants 8

Giants didn't need this game though, Dallas did.

Win or lose tonight, Giants need to win next week to clinch No. 1 seed.

They needed this game junior. Or have you not been watching with open eyes? Wide receiver out for the Giants, and Carolina playing the way they do? The Giants definitely needed this game against the Cowboys.

Who'd have thunk it: The Pittsburgh Steelers, the hottest team in football. Five straight and an angel on their shoulder. The number one ranked defense, but an offense that is difficult to watch. Roethlisberger is like a case of the flu: you don't realize it's there--it just creeps up on you. Out of nowhere while running for his life he amassed 246 yards passing. Great game.

Ummm, ruthlessbooger has had many a game where he has shined. What are you watching?

Hey senior, how about learning to interpret what you read. That means to understand it.

I said they didn't need this game for the number 1 seed. Not for confidence or momentum.

I didn't say momentum or coincidence either. I speak fact. You really think the Giants can beat the Panthers now? :hatsoff:

you do know that they play for number one seed, right?
