Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

I say Michigan wins, upsets the apple cart, by two or three clear scores. Go Michigan! ;) I don't really care who wins, but I do like their bright blue and yellow outfits.

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

The Ohio State Buckeyes are going to kick Michigans sorry ass. Lloyd Carr should prepar himself for another heart breaking loss. Troy Smith, Antonio Pittman, Ted Ginn, Anthoney Gonzalez, Chris Wells, Brian Robiskie, James Laurinitis, Brandon Mitchell, Malcolm Jenkins, Antonio Smith, and Quinn Pitcock. They cannot be stopped...they are a winning machine. Arizona here we come for the National Title. NYC....here comes Troy Smith for the Heisman. GO BUCKS!!!

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

I'm not a fan of Ohio State, but I will do my part and root against Michigan as usual.

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

I don't care who wins, but I'm kind of hoping Michigan pulls it off. Then I'm hoping Florida, Arkansas, and Rutgers lose, while Notre Dame wins out. We will then be left with the Notre Dame vs. Michigan rematch in the title game. And then I hope Notre Dame wins, creating a vacuum of the loudest crying and whining ever heard from sea to shining sea about how Notre Dame didn't even deserve to be there, let alone be crowned champs, yada, yada, thus bringing the BCS that much more closer to total destruction... Oh, I can dream. :)

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

i have a hex on me. whenever i bet on a huge game, the exact opposite always happens. i am taking michigan plus 7. so that means that ohio state will win by at least 10.

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

There was an advertising exec who was having lunch with a very important prospective client and the table talk got around to a discussion about colleges. The ad exec proudly mentioned that he was a graduate of Ohio State. The client then asked what the ad exec thought about Michigan as an academic institution and he replied, "Oh hell, the only people who end up going to Michigan are football players and whores!" to which the client indignantly shot back, "Well! I'll have you know that my wife graduated from Michigan!!!". Taken by surprise but somehow maintaining his composure, the ad exec took a sip of water, wiped his mouth with his napkin and calmly asked, "Oh really? What position did she play?" :1orglaugh

Only way OSU loses is if they think they will win just by showing up. My guess is that Tressel won't let that happen. Buckeyes win late in a close game....probably by some incredible play by Troy Smith.

Just my :2 cents: of course.....Being a Longhorn fan I don't really care who wins. Actually, I hope Rutgers goes undefeated so it throws this whole BCS bullshit system into total chaos.

GO SCARLET KNIGHTS!!!!

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

ahh. i will see you in the big 12 title game to avenge the loss.

Looking forward to it. As I recall, you made an awesome prediction against USC....38-3 I believe, wasn't it?

:1orglaugh

We stumbled against K-State but we'll be ready for you. By the way, last Saturday was the only time you'll ever see me rooting for Nebraska. Nice job against the Aggies! Awesome pass from Taylor to Purify to win it. Enjoy it while you can....

HOOK 'EM!!!!

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Just heard that Bo Schembechler died today....the day before the game!!! This has got to give Michigan a tremendous motivational edge. Think of the dedication of this great coach....willing to die in order to beat Ohio State!!!

All levity aside, he was a terrific coach. One of the greatest of all-time. Rest in peace, Coach. :(

I heard about this, and the first thing I thought was "DAMN, now Michigan is going to want to win one for Bo!"

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

RIP Bo. That is indeed a sad sad development :(
Got very used to seeing him out this way in the Rose Bowl over the years. Fine coach and a fine man.

If indeed this motivates Michigan to their peak effort (I wonder if they'll have time to recover from the shock?) it will really test iamforever's said inability to win a big game bet, but I'm still gonna have faith in his unvarnished record in such contests by taking Ohio State and giving the points lol. However, considering the general run of bad luck in all arenas that I've been having of late, my bad juju very well may trump iam's and insure that Michigan at least covers lol

What a strange year in college football. I don't think I've ever seen so much parity. I mean, imo neither the Buckeyes or Wolverines are anything more than the best (so far) of a lot of very good teams...but no outstanding teams.

The Pac 10 has been a good example of that general parity. As a for instance, UCLA by all rights should have beaten Notre Dame, but then they were clearly beaten by WSU and Cal, both of whom subsequently got beaten by lowly Arizona, while UCLA goes on to readily beat the only team that's beaten USC; Oregon State. Yes one might have predicted some of those turnabouts based on emotional swings and looking ahead to other opponents, but still it's been a strange season out west.

LOL Rogue!

The Ohio State University - 42
University of Michigan - 39

We don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, we're from OHIO
Sorry Wolverines, you were soo close but the Buckeyes pulled it out.

One More To Go.... Goodbye Columbus....Hello Glendale, Arizona.

2006 Heisman Trophy Winner = Troy Smith

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Ouch that was a hard fall, hope you are ok!

Maybe it was a short cliff. :1orglaugh

Anybody think there is a chance for a national championship rematch. As I write it looks like Rutgers and USC are losing, and Florida just seems kind of lackluster in a lot of games this year.

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

texas might not even get to the bcs. nebraska is still mad that they blew the game against texas. revenge is on their minds.
