Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

WOW.......what a gamne that was. All they way down to the last second. Another SEC football battle.

(3)AUBURN - 7
(6)LSU - 3

Now, Notre Dame is getting the shit kicked out of them! LOL.

I thought LSU would win a low-scoring battle. Guess not. 3 points is not going to be enough to win you any games, and Auburn's a really good football team. Man, tackled at the 5 yard line on the last play of the game! What an ending.

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

here it is the fourth almost. and nebraska now decides to play to their strength. what a letdown. at least usc didnt completely blow them out. its now going to be 21-10. maybe some hope?

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

I'd have liked to have seen the Huskers upset the Trojans, Iam, but USC's recruiting has and figures to continue to be so prolific under Carrol that it's hard to imagine them having anything less than a championship contending team for many many years ahead...no matter how many underclassmen leave early for the NFL.

And UCLA didn't help the recruiting imbalance between the LA schools any by hiring Carl Durrell, who's a good, earnest guy with what appears to be some potential as a head coach; but who in the football world is a nobody compared to Pete Carrol, and growing to be less and less a nobody the more USC suceeds and in the process dominates UCLA. Being a public university UCLA just can't compete salary-wise with USC for coaches. Funny how that signing (of Carrol) turned everything around between the two schools: After decades of mostly existing in USC's shadow UCLA finally became LA's better college football team during the 90s, and Carrol wasn't even the USC AD's (Mike Garrett) first choice to coach the Trojans, but look at them now; they have been and appear likely to continue to be even more dominant than the John McKay era Trojans were.

USC just better hope that the investigations into Reggie Bush and some of the other players doesn't get the school punished, which might very well not happen. Then again who knows, but if it happens I bet their recruiting won't be as good.

AU vs. LSU
Total Yards
AU 181
LSU 309
and AU threw an interception, i didn't see the whole game, must have been some AU refs involved :D

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

my perception of the game. three things that went wrong.

1. first and foremost, where was the passing game? that sounds wierd from un but, they are a west coast offense now! i dont like it.

2. horrible play calling. enough said! there is a reason my bucs whipped his ass (callahan)in the bowl.

3. nu has no secondary. carroll figured it out. when it mattered he went to jarrett.

side note...nu is lucky to have only lost by 18.

It is was about a defensive battle between both teams. Auburn was just a little better on defense and offense though. Also, Auburn kicker Kody Bliss had a heck of a day punting the ball.

Kody Bliss' game stats:
6 - Punts
48.2 yards - Average
62 yards - Longest Punt
2 - Inside the 20 yard line

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

I startin to gather the same thing. I'm the biggest anti-irish fan of all! I don't even have a fav team, just whoever they play against that's who I root for! They are nothin but a bunch of spoiled, rich fuckers with huge ego's and think they hot shit, to the point they sign autographs...what is that shit, they're in fuckin college. They are still NO FUCKIN BODY!!! Most will never even play in the NFL, yet they sign autographs like they already do. Just pisses me the fuck off!

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Well, looks like Charlie's boys forgot it was a 3:30 kick off. 24 points they gave up off of turnovers. Just didn't come to play.

The loss sucks, but it's better then what we went through last yeas with USC. One stupid play, and the victory fell through our hands. At least yesterday, Michigan didn't beat us, we lost, big time.

Still, I'm OK with this. Chucky won't say it, but these are Willingsuck's kids. Two years from now there will be no dispute when the Irish are National Champions.

The first play of the game I knew we were in trouble. When no pass interference was called, my jaw dropped. Two plays later, 7-0 Michigan. Never recovered after that.

Don't worry haters, Notre Dame is on their way up, you're at your peak.

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Ohio State 38
Iowa 17

The Buckeyes are going to roll through October, and all the way to the Championship! :)

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

LOL @ post 94!

And even though Arizona figured to be a letdown game (after Nebraska) and Washington State is a difficult stadium to play in, USC has looked eminently beateable the last 2 weeks. Interesting.

D-rock: Good point, though unless they take scholarships away from them I don't think it'll have too much impact.

Amen Brother! Cant wait to Nov 18th against Michigan...

Ohio State and Michigan on november 18th...going to be the match up of the year, 1 and 2

Re: The Official NCAA College Football Thread!

Saturday...the biggest game of the college football season.

#1 Ohio State
#2 Michigan

The biggest football rivalry now has extra meaning this year as these two powerhouses play to see who will go on to most likely win the national title. In previous years, the top 2 teams have played each other, but never this late into the season with so much on the line. What is really interesting is there is a possibility that these two teams could meet again to play for the actual title depending on how BCS plays out.

Most the oddsmakers have Ohio State as a 1 touchdown favorite. The game is in Ohio this year. Jim Tressel is 4-1 against 'the state up north' since coming to OSU...and no one does a better job getting his players ready for and coaching a big game.

The Ohio State University will be victorious Saturday!!!
(or I'm going to be one miserable SOB) ;)
