As far as lyrics, delivery, style, metaphors....all time would HAVE to be Chuck D....
I suppose there is a list of about 5 to 7 at 1b......but 1a is Chuck D in my book. I'd say the 1b group would be Big, Pac, Nas, J, Snoop, Em, Rakim....then at 2 would be Pun, Common, Sticky Fingaz, Meth, Ghostface, etc.
Forgotten in this is Keith Murray though...

i agree Chuck D is the man. Public Enemy probably greatest rap group of all time.
It would be a matter of opinion I would assume, yet I would say Eminem is the most mathematical. He is vicious and in a league of his own. To say he had fame due to his skin color is absured. He murks the industry and his early amature material is SICK and puts any and all to shame.

...many of you will find these refreshing compared to his later material and most of the hip Hop that has come out regardless of year or artist.
He has touched on poverty, domestic disputes/********, "race", double standards, politics and much more to be deemed a single minded rapper. He is a genius and a true wordsmith like no other.

His newer material is darker in a sense of his viewpoint from that of a serial killer and going on the theme of his relapse to ***** being his relapse to that zany character Slim Shady.

Hip Hop, as most music these days, has lost it's flare and is nothing more than a commercial jingle.

I have Meth there but Busta is a miss for 1b (definitely versatile style, lyrics, delivery, timing, etc.), Redman is probably 3rd tier IMO.

there's no best rapper, and it's not certainly him if there was! You can put them all forward to battle, to come out with someone on that basis! But there's no best rapper! If I had to list ten I'd have trouble!
You're luck I'm not the kind of guy to neg rep but I would neg rep you every day I could until freeones crashed for putting Chuck D in the same sentence with those other two.:crash:
