I just pulled a rack of ribs off the smoker, on the smoke for two hours, in the oven @220° for three hours. These are a damn masterpiece, best rack of ribs of the summer.

El Pollo Loco. Love that place. Always good chicken with sides and I get plenty of the avocado salsa.

I literally went to el pollo loco for 16 years every FUCKING DAY. A common time was after work. I would go on days off and read a book. I would always order a meal and eat and then partake of the free refill drinks. I started bringing newspapers in and magazines. I would eat in once and go to drive thru later on. I would be embarrassed to go twice as eat in . I went in some eventually 2 times a day as eat in patron. The employees would bet on my order. I was the vegas style high roller. I feel I have been in all stores in my area.

Then I would go at 10 am and be back for a late dinner. I know of a Hispanic guy who cooksd chicken there for 15 years- that all he ever did.

I missed 2 weeks when I was without a job and very few days when I was too sick. Easily made up the missed days by double days.

I joined Kaisers weight loss program and assumed I would have to stop. I started to eat the 2 piece meal and pay extra for 2 breast pieces, double coleslaw, corn tortillas.

I never stopped just modified from dark to light meat. I lost from 350 lbs to 200 lbs. low fat diet/ high complex carbohydrate w gym visits.

I used to love those days

That watery avocado sauce while free at the bar is powder mixed with oil. I saw a guy pouring some on each bite of his burrito. at the end he had a small water glass half full and wondered if he was going to use it. The mother f--er drank it. I was on a low fat diet and he was like pushing 300 lbs.

never found out if they use corn oil making the sauce. I think they use corn oil in the beans- some they soak and cook and they used to use canned beans also as I saw the cans out back.

I was the weight loss jarryd of el pollo loco b 4 he was well known. I had lost my weight as he was starting his weight loss.

F-you and your dammed smoker. Do you know what would happen if I fired one of them up here in Poughkeepsie? Other than good food, nothing else would be good. Rent a cop for when I wanted to cook and carry that fucker up 2 flights of stairs to be surer that it would be there the next day. F-you. F-you again.

The garlic mash from the other day was from 3 lb of boiled potatoes. Extra mash for later in the week and my killer potato salad. It gets hot in my apartment and coming home to some of that with hard boiled eggs makes for a nice supper.

Last night the wife cooked up some great carne asada that she bought at a Mexican Carniceria on some portable Korean BBQ style grill on top of the stove. It was put into corn tortillas and made into some tasty tacos covered with pico de gallo and guacamole that she also bought at the same place.

Chick-Fil-A tonight getting the #1 Chick-Fil-A Deluxe Sandwich Meal w/Waffle Fries and an ice cold, effervescent Coca-Cola. I put Sriracha Sauce on my Chick-Fil-A Deluxe Sandwich. Tastes great.

Tonight we went out for German Food at a place called Wirtshaus which is on La Brea just north of Beverly Bl. The wife started out with a pint of this Stiegl Grapefruit Beer and I had a liter of Paulaner Oktoberfest. For our entrees she had the Wirtshaus Schnitzel (sauteed pork breaded and topped with garlic cream sauce and fried egg with Garlic Brussel Sprouts and German Potato Salad) and I had the Ente Schinken Wurst (2 duck bacon sausages with Garlic Brussel Sprouts and Mashed Potatoes). For dessert we both had Apple Strudel covered in [NOBABE]Vanilla Ice[/NOBABE] Cream and Cranberries. Great food and place I found through Yelp.

Moved my nephew into a new neighborhood. Sampled some of the local eats. Best was the bagel joint downstairs. Cheese steak was one and they pulled it off. Ham and roast beef with melted swiss was a true winner. The mayo with something in it capped it all off. I'm gonna find out what was added.

Homemade pizza; the only thing worth bragging about was that I incorporated whole wheat flour into the dough and managed to toss it in the air to stretch it without it falling on the floor or breaking anything.

Super Taco Truck Tacos from the Super Gallito Super Taco Truck on Westwood & Santa Monica in the Blue Wave Car Wash parking lot. I had 14 Carne Asada Tacos and 2 cups of beans with some delicious whole roasted jalapeños. Just super!

Spaghetti with oven fried meatballs (I rolled them in egg and breadcrumbs to give them texture), homemade tomater sauce, and brussel sprouts marinated in balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Is good.
