Summer Olympics 2008

Silver in both events. She lost the Gold in the 50m Freestyle by 1/100th of a sec, same time as Phelps won one of his Golds. I was hoping she would win the Gold.

That really sucks. I was really hoping she would win gold. They just showed the race here. She lost in the exact same way Cavic lost to Phelps last night: by reaching for the wall from too far away. Oh, well. Silver's good too.

Does anyone else think she's a MILF? At 41, she looks better than some of her 20-something-year-old rivals. :hit:

what the fuck you lookin at?
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's a joke, please don't get offended!!!! :D

Never appologize

Silver is second place and second place is the first loser. Regardless, she's a definite milf!

knows petras secret: she farted.
the olympics sucks. I used to find it interesting.I must not have been paying very much attention.

they had the marathon on today...that is the most boring thing I've ever seen on television. like six hours of people jogging down a street. they need to find the fast forward button on that shit.

yeah, the marathons are boring. its amazing that anyone can run for 2 1/2 hours though.

Michael Phelps: Boy of Tomorrow.
Mark Spitz: Man of Yesterday.

If new developments aren't achieved, Phelps would never reach his 8 gold medal goal. Spitz swam in natural form, he didn't wear auqadynamic caps and Speedo, and if you look carefully, you can see that new olympic pool has 10 lanes and 3 meter deep. This new pool avoids waves (created by swimmers themselves) prevent swimmers swim faster. Lane marks are also designed to avoid those waves. The pool Spitz swam had 8 lanes and 2 meter deep so waves return faster and slow down swimmers.

I think Mark Spitz's achievement is more remarkable at that time when there was no special Speedo technology. lol You know Spitz himself is role model of Phelps.

Who cares Phelps?! We have Bolt! The fastest man alive. I cannot imagine a better name for a record-breaker Olympic sprinter. :D Speeding Bolt!!!

Its funny watching Phelps' almost having a heart attack. Just saw the Jamaican guy win worlds fastest man and it totally reminded me of the movie Cool Runnings. LOL.

I'd say so, but that German chick who won was pretty smokin too

I definitley agree with that, what a fucking bore the marathon is, the only thing that did bring me a hint of joy was Paula Radcliff crying again.

Why does that make me happy? Who knows :dunno:

It doesn't matter what phelps swims in as opposed to what spitz swam in. Spitz was in the exact same conditions as his competitors, for his era. And Phelps in swiming in the exact same conditions as his competitors in this era. The only way to know for sure would be to have the 2 of them go head to head. And that can never happen.

Phelps and all this "technology" and the pool all that blah, blah, blah is the exact same as that of his completion. So in that regard he is equal to the rest of the field. The only thing I could see your point being a valid argument against would be the 7 world records he broke at these games. Where his suit, his cap and the pool all played a role. But I'm tired of saying he's no better than spitz just because of his suit. They were both at equal advantages to their competition for the time period they swam in! Like I said the only way to determine who's better is to have them go head to head and them both be in their prime.

I can't watch. I can't watch that and I can't watch the longer cycling events. It's just something I can't sit and enjoy.

Phelps has the last laugh: Word is he is going to make around $200,000,000.00 from now until London in '12.

Im with you anything that takes longer than 10-15 minutes tops, I can sit through, distance running, road race, the swimming over 800m, rowing even though GB wins I cant watch it, I start to nod off.

At least Phelps didn't pull up short and start gloating and showing off before he even finished one of his races. Bolt might be a one in a billion genetic freak, but I predict if he doesn't stop that there is a good chance that someday in the future it is going to cost Bolt a close race he might win otherwise.

Unfortunately, many naturally gifted athletes know they can show off because there is nobody else that can equal them. I don't think Bolt would be pulling this shit if there was someone else competing that had a chance of beating him. If you recall from the race last night, he didn't start showboating until after he'd looked at the right lane twice to make sure Asafa Powell wasn't in a position to beat him. He may be a ham, but he's not gonna do something stupid to cause him to lose a race.

That's the thing. There might be a chance that just looking around will be the thing that cost him enough time to loose. Someday someone could be equal to him at that point in the race where he looks around, and it wouldn't to good to loose because your off staring at your opponent instead of diving though the finish line. Tyson Gay had a time close his world record in the US Olympic trails that was just barely negated by too much wind so it's not like that time he put up is invulnerable.

Plus you never know what's going to happen in the future. Maybe next week he slips going down some stairs and blows out his knee or maybe he gets into some car wreck and is never the same again or something like that. When you have a chance to put up a world record that crushes the previous one unlike anything ever seen before and has the chance to last for decades it would suck to have it go down in only a relatively short time later when you can't get it back because you did something foolish and didn't make it as fast as possible when you had a chance, epically in the Olympic final.

Due to her insane conditioning her body looks like it's in better shape than almost all the rest of the swimmers also. That’s pretty sad for the other swimmers considering she's twice the age of some of them.
