Sports Teams That Should Just Go Away

Makes me wonder what could have been if the Expos had gotten their new stadium.... Awe damn, I just got depressed.

Aren't they like off the charts commie liberal in Montreal? Then they probably turned down any tax initiatives that would fund it. One of the few issues where loony leftists and rightists agree on something. Man city council members get murdered over stuff like this, like the lady I think in AZ over the new stadium there. It's a tough issue because new stadiums and arenas bring in jobs, new tax and revenue for the city/state, but a lot of people don't know this. A mixed drink on club level at a Wild game is $20.00. That's capitalism!

I think most of the SF Bay area would be very happy if the Raiders left Oakland again.

Which brings me to the next point that the Warriors are pretty much unknown outside of the Bay Area.
Talk about a NBA franchise that's run worse than the Clippers......

There are no rivals in sports who have games that are as heated as the Yanks and Sox. Whoever thinks differently doesnt watch baseball, or sports in general very often.

That rivalry right now is about 100% fan driven. Back in 2001-2005, that rivalry was heated, and it was evident every single game. Now, the players don't care that much anymore, and it's not even close.

The Old Firm rivalry in Glasgow shits all over Yankees-Red Sox.

The mid-to-late 90s Avs/Red Wings rivalry was one of the greatest in sports history. Of course, that was short lived, but for several years there there were several out and out bench clearing brawls and some absolutely classic playoff series'. :hatsoff:

It still isn't a patch on Rangers v Celtic. It's a rivalry well over a century old, based on religious divisions and had a strong base in The Troubles in Northern Ireland. You really haven't lived until you have gone to one of their games. I have nothing against US sports - I love the MLB and NFL, but there really is nothing over there that compares to this fixture.

I had a Professor who earned a degree there and he told us about that. You can't wear orange in certain parts of the town and shit right, or you'll get your ass whooped or something? It went something like that. That's definitely some shit right there where one of the groups were opressed by the other for decades. I could see something like that betwee American and Mexico if only Americans had a backbone and a mind for soccer.

Maple Leafs/Canadiens rivalry is around a century old and is entirely based on English Canada Vs. French Canada. Every other rivalry is good and all, but none of them represent the division in a country like the good ol' hockey game.

You don't have to worry about your life though when you wear your Leafs jersey to the Molton Center.

Hibs v Hearts shits all over the Old Firm :yesyes: ....................i am joking of course as i doubt the Edinburgh derby is anywhere near Old Firm rivalry standards as i have no desire to go to an Old Firm match as i'm a Hibs supporter.
